Springfield Cottage

A lovely cottage in the middle of Chipping with a delightful private garden at the rear.

The cottage is well presented and spotless with ample space both downstairs and upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. Chipping and the surrounding areas are very pretty and the owner provides plenty of detailed descriptions of walks in and around the area. I highly recommend Springfield Cottage.

We loved this cottage.

The garden at the back was very sheltered with spring flowers popping up all over the place. Very quiet too so we enjoyed a peaceful coffee each morning sat in the sun. The cottage is very spacious with extremely comfortable beds. The bedrooms are a great size with plenty of storage and the 2 at the back have super views over the fields. The lounge was comfy too with plenty of seating while the kitchen had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. The downstairs toilet was a bonus. We would happily return again and recommend to friends.

This cottage is very spacious, well maintained in a perfect village with great walks locally .

the cottage is well equipped with all you could possibly need for self catering, however the proximity to the 2 village pubs and cafe who are providing excellent menu make it very tempting not to use the vast number of pots and pans despite the dishwasher ! . the bedrooms are large with two double beds and one twin bedded. bed linen is good quality. we went as a group of friends howebver for family with children there were an array of games, footballs and books and even stair gates. Wi FI is thankfully good speed which is a must as the thick cottage walls make access to your own data not as easy. well heated with both central heating and open fire . the only possible issue would be for less mobile people as the cottage is elevated from the road with steps and a front entrance porch . we would highly recommend for families and we will definitely return in the spring.

A lovely, good sized cottage, in a beautiful, quiet village.

Well equipped, comfy beds, clean, and a great base for us to visit family in the area. The owner, Jane, was super helpful before, during and after our stay, and went above and beyond for us. A lovely gift left for our arrival of local cheese, milk, eggs, and even treats for the dogs! We would highly recommend both the cottage, village and the owners. Thank you!

Comfortable cottage in chipping.

In the heart of the village with pub, shop, cafes, parking and walks on the doorstep. Very comfortable beds and furnishings and lots of space for 6 of us. Only drawback was Wi-Fi not working and tv limited but both rectified by the owner and did not spoil our holiday. Would happily return.

We've just returned from a week at this delightful cottage.

We were so pleased to find comfortable furniture in the lounge and 'super comfy' beds. The cottage is very well equipped - especially if you wish to cook. This was the first time that I didn't need to, as there are so many brilliant places to eat without having to drive too far. The local pub, The Sun, is excellent with a great atmosphere and very good food at reasonable prices, in particular, the Sunday Lunch. We had a fabulous lunch at The Inn at Whitewell as a treat on our last day. Stunning scenery, excellent food and a short distance from Chipping. We have had a very special week in this beautiful, unspoiled area at this lovely cottage. Thank you.

It's cosy but very spacious, in a delightful village, in a beautiful part of the country. The house has 3 really excellent sized bedrooms, ideal for a family or in our case women friends. We made good use of the kitchen and dining room, finding everything we needed to store food and to cook and present meals. The garden with patio is delightful. Our stay very relaxing in this comfortable cottage and we thoroughly recommend a stay there.

It was a perfect place to stay.

Springfield Cottage is a lovely place to stay, equipped with everything you need and a beautiful little garden at the back.

The location is excellent...right in the centre of Chipping, but in a quiet spot. The parking is only a few minutes walk costing £3.30 per day which we paid for in advance - so we could come and go as we pleased without having to worry about tickets.

Well equiped kitchen and very comfy beds plus a sunny garden to enjoy. All felt very welcoming.Just a couple of minutes to a really great pub (friendly and good food), shop and cafe Beautiful walks from the door. Parking easy in the village car park and, for our family, didn't need to use the drop off option to the side of the run of cottages but sure this would be helpful for visitors with more bags...!! Thank you for the Easter treats - I would be very happy to come back to Springfield!

I had a great stay in this central Chipping cottage, it is a lovely village with good local pubs and basic amenities.

Surrounding area is very scenic for all sorts of treks ranging from gentle pastureland strolls to fell hikes - would recommend walks to Whitewell, Dunsop Bridge, Beacon Fell and Longridge Fell plus great walks around Gisburn Forest and Slaidburn if travelling a bit further afield. All the locals we met were very friendly too! Springfield Cottage is a spacious, attached property but there was no noise from neighbours. It was clean enough but wouldn’t describe it as immaculate; I travelled with a pet so it was well maintained enough for us. Open fire always a treat and fuel to start provided plus they also supplied milk, eggs, local cheese and dog treats! There was good instructions and plenty of suggestions and material for days out and the bed was very comfortable. Would highly recommend this cottage and area.

Delightful stone cottage at end of terrace of three.

Well equipped, very comfortable beds. Garden is beautiful and it is sunny to sit outside in the evening. Parking in the village is available, however it would be more convenient to park outside the designated garage. We unloaded the car on the road outside the cottage which is busy at school times. We would happily stay here again, Chipping is a very attractive village with some many old stone buildings.

Lovely,comfortable cottage with a much appreciated welcome pack of goodies.

We found the heating a little unreliable but the open fire was very nice.The Sun pub was very welcoming with good food and the farm shop very handy for local produce. Chipping is well placed for exploring the Forest of Bowland area ,a very beautiful place to be. Altogether a wonderful holiday.

Only complaint is the parking arrangements very,very tight to park in front of garages when other cars are parked there.

Overall the cleanliness on arrival was of a good standard, although the cooker and toaster could have been cleaner. Parking is tight, but this is explained before arrival, and we had no problem. We appreciated the advance email from the owner containing useful information about the area.

The Cottage was lovely, very clean and tidy with clear and helpful instructions left by the owner.

The property was lovely, spacious and had everything you would need for a break away.

The owner had kindly left us cheese from the local area and some eggs from their farm. The cottage was clean and tidy for the most part. However, inside the kitchen cupboards, the kitchen utensils and equipment were not the cleanest and needed cleaning before use. The parking situation wasn’t great. The allocated parking space is very small and difficult to get in and out of (in a median sized car) and no on street parking outside. It was also located around the back of an adjacent property, making loading and unloading the car more difficult.

This is a very comfortable and well-equipped cottage, with a prime location on Windy Street.

It also has an attractive garden with patio at the back. I would definitely return.

The property was well equipped and big enough for us five.

The village of Chipping is a hidden treasure of Lancashire. Two pubs Two shops . The perfect base for all our excursions. I would not hesitate in recommending Springfield cottage to anybody who wants a perfect relaxing break.

Property was beautiful, very clean everything you could ask for a home from home village has a couple of pubs and a cafe supermarket 10 minutes drive away excellent property would recommend it to anyone.

Not a lot to be done about that unfortunately. The cottage itself and its location were perfect. Everything which could be needed was provided and it would be an ideal property for a family.

Wonderful location and the cottage was great as well.

Very comfortable and all that we needed to have an enjoyable stay. The information provided was very helpful - we did a few of the recommended local walks as well which our dog enjoyed.

The only reason we would not recommend it is the parking arrangements. It was an extremely tight space necessitating weaving between several other parked cars.

Lovely back garden although the ropey weather meant we didn't have many opportunities to enjoy it more! Located in a picturesque village, but close enough to enjoy bigger towns and cities.

Parking was a bit difficult with the neighbours boyfriends car !

Chipping is really lovely as is the cottage.

Owner allowed us to use the garage for our cycles. There is no dishwasher but otherwise was well equipped. Great area for walking and cycling - very quiet.

Minor niggles, e.

g. no non-stick frying pan, upstairs floorboards creak when someone is moving around in middle of night, so could disturb others, and adjacent car parking virually impossible. Better info needed about getting overnight permits to park on village car park. (my daughter was penalised because her on-line payment failed to be registered, though I believe this was recified). Fridge could do with being larger and better positioned. Otherwise, very satisfied indeed with cottage and surrounding beautiful area.

Cottage was spacious, clean, comfortable and ideally situated in what is a very sweet and peaceful village.

Beautiful outlook, backing on to the school field. Lovely front and back garden and it's very own parking space. Both pubs, very well, both serve great food and at the time of year we went were very warm. The Cobbled Corner cafe again great food, we had breakfast. The Farm shop friendly and welcoming having everything you need. Even a vegan shelf. Can't wait to go back. Thanks Springfield cottage and Sykes Cottages.

It was a comfortable and clean cottage with a very homey feel. The open fire was a great added touch. We loved our country walks in Chipping and eating and drinking in the historic Sun Inn.

The mattress on the double bed was a bit bouncy and creaky, it did keep us awake sometimes. Other than that, loved it.
