Meadow Cottage

Accommodation was very comfortable.

Enjoyed our stay and our hosts were very friendly. The only negative for us was remote location which can only be accessed by very narrow country roads. Also, we didn't realise that the cottage is 9 miles from Skipton so driving is essential to reach any locations. If you enjoy such locations then this cottage is definitely for you. One big plus for us was watching a deer passing close by.

Cottage is so comfortable and done so well.

Lovely owners who directed us to some great pubs and fantastic views on the way to Skipton rather than using Google maps and taking the main road. Everything you need in terms of equipment there too. Views are stunning and wildlife fantastic. So relaxing. Will definitely be returning.

A lovely place to stay for a relaxing holiday Lots of wildlife and nature Lots of places to visit particularly enjoyed the Steam train Embsey to Bolton Abbey Skipton have some lovely shops

Wow!

Meadow Cottage was fantastic! We had a nice, relaxing holiday in beautiful surrounding countryside. First class accommodation and the owners, who lived close by, were friendly and helpful with plenty of local knowledge. We would highly recommend Meadow Cottsge if a quiet, relaxing break just is what you seek.

The cottage, location were excellent, Derek and Joan, the owners, lovely people, couldn’t do enough for you.

Cleanliness of the cottage, superb, sitting on the patio in the morning listening to the sheep was lovely. The only thing I would say is that the Wi-Fi could do with being upgraded as it was hit and miss if you were able to get on the internet. Although saying this it wouldn’t stop us from going back

Meadow cottage for us was first class there was plenty of room and beautifully furnished throughout well equipped kitchen diner and lovely lounge and comfortable beds and a lovely big bathroom.

The owners were on hand if we needed anything. The cottage is situated with wonderful views all around and watching the baby lambs was lovely. could find no fault at all with the property and we will stay there again in the future Thank you for a wonderful stay Christine Andrew & sister Jean

We had a fantastic week in an ideal spot of Yorkshire.

The hosts were approachable if needed and informative with places to go and things to do. The cottage was spotless with everything you would need, and lovely views of the surrounding countryside. All in all a great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone.

We both enjoyed our stay at Meadow cottage, We would use it again.

Rooms clean and tidy, plenty space Lots to do in a 10 to 20mile radius

A lovely property in a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales.

The owners live adjacent and were very friendly, offering help and advice if needed. We would love to stay again soon.

The cottage was modern, spacious and very cosy with great views of the local countryside.

It was an ideal location for touring the area within easy reach of Skipton, Keighley, Ilkley and Bolton Abbey amongst other places. The owners were friendly and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. One minor issue to note is that on Google Maps Meadow Cottage is listed as being at a neighbouring farm therefore using what3words phrase ///ranch.overpaid.townhouse to locate it may be a better option on first visit.

Meadow Cottage is one of the best properties we have stayed in, we were made to feel very welcome by the owners as soon as we arrived, there is everything you may need for your stay, spotlessly clean & very comfortable throughout, the scenery is beautiful, Skipton is a lovely town which is quiet close by & Harrogate isn't too far away, we would definitely stay again, we had a lovely week, thank you.

Wonderful location.

Very quiet. Friendly host.

The property is as described, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

It was a very well equipped cottage. The owners are the friendliest we have had, coming across to make sure everything was ok, and to let them know if anything was needed. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage.

Well equipped cottage with everything you might need.

Lovely quite place with stunning views. Derek and Joan couldn't be more helpful. Thank you

The second time we have stayed here.

Amazing property in a quiet location. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely brilliant.

Well equipped. Spotlessly clean. We couldn't have asked for better. Craig and Joan were lovely hosts. We will be back.

very warm welcoming, loved the wine and biscuits.

Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Would recommened it to friends.

A really lovely cottage, very quiet and peaceful setting, friendly owners and a really good area to explore.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, we felt at home straight away, the rooms were clean and tidy, quite modern inside with every facility, the living rooms were very comfortable and had lovely views.

I have no hesitation in recommending this holiday cottage, nice location and friendly hosts.

Lovely cottage in a picturesque location but less than 5 minutes from the main Colne to Keighley road.

Very easy to find down a single track country lane. Cottage has all the facilities you could need, everything is in excellent working order and is lovely and warm. We stayed for New Year and found we had to turn the heating down it was so cozy. The beds were super comfortable and we slept really well. We catered for ourselves and is fully equipped to cook a full meal. Outside space would be perfect to sit out in summer. Friendly owners who leave you to it but are readily available to help if needed. Recommend a stay here.

We had the most wonderful time at Meadow Cottage and will absolutely be back one day.

It is such a thoughtfully designed space, perfect for a family stay, and so very cosy. We loved how peaceful and remote the cottage was, without being far away at all from places like Bolton Abbey and Malham. Exploring the Yorkshire Dales all day, and then coming home to Meadow Cottage to play board games by the fire, was heaven. The owners were friendly, helpful and there for anything we needed during our stay.

The house is spacious, warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable, we loved our stay there.

It is in a quiet rural location but with easy access to Skipton and the Dales, and there is so much to do within a short drive (we particularly liked Haworth). The owners were welcoming and helpful and we could not fault the house in any way. We will be back!

lovely cottage would really recommend

We had a warm welcome from the owner and surprise gifts, gratefully received.

The cottage had a lovely patio which we made full use of to enjoy spectacular sunsets and wind down after busy days of sightseeing. The owner gave us some great advice for places to visit. We saw quite an array of wildlife whilst there too. We were also lucky enough to be able to see the incredible superman one evening with the partial eclipse.

Another really really lovely week in this amazing large fablus cottage,so so peaceful just what we both needed again, many many thank yous to all the family for providing such a beautiful place for us to stay again,it was so very hard to leave it all behind and go home.

Christine and Michael x

Our stay was perfect.

Thank you so much for the lovely welcome pack and for the recommendations of where to visit. We loved our trip on the train from Settle to Carlisle. Meadow Cottage was a ‘home from home’ and we definitely hope to return. The space and comfort was brilliant and the views from the cottage and surrounding countryside were amazing. I wonder how many times I said ‘stunning’ whilst we were there? The beds were so comfortable and this was a stay we will not forget in a hurry. Thank you so much Joan and Derek

Another lovely stay at Meadow Cottage and lovely weather too.

This was our 3rd visit and would highly recommend. Beautiful, peaceful location, with sheep, rabbits and birds for neighbours. Yet only a short drive to local amenities. Spacious, light, airy, immaculate detached cottage with everything you could ask for. Lovely treats on arrival and Derek, Joan and family are friendly, helpful and relaxed. We always look forward to our stays.

Thank you so much for a really super holiday, the cottage was amazing so clean and really larger than we expected,in a beautiful area surrounded by fields, just what we both needed, and the extras from the owner were a lovely surprise, such a lovely family couldn't do enough for us.

Thank you so very very much. Christine and Michael.

The property was lovelly.

Very comfortable, warm and inviting, especially as the weather was not at its best. The owner and her family are at hand if need be, and you are made to feel very welcome. The cottage is set about 5 minutes from the main road which takes you in either direction to places of interest . The lounge has patio doors which give amazing views in all directions. We were lucky to watch the lambs mature in the week we were there. Also lovely to watch and hear the curlews, also herons, hares and rabbits. Sadly didn't see an owl. Would we go back again, yes in a heart beat and definitely intend to soon.

Just spent 5 days at this beautiful cottage, would give 10 stars, very high standard of accommodation .

Clean , comfortable high end finish excellent .Owners very helpful and friendly . Really enjoyed our stay even the rain couldn’t put us off. Would book again.

Our second visit to Meadow Cottage.

Very comfortable accommodation. Family are friendly and obliging and nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

Another lovely stay at Meadow Cottage.

Despite the weather being rather foul, the cottage is so warm and comfortable it doesn’t matter (and the views are lovely whatever the weather)! The cottage is well appointed and Derek and Joan are on hand and very friendly and helpful. Our visit this time was to visit friends and family but there are lots of lovely places to visit if holidaying in the area (including Haworth, the steam railway, Wycoller Park, Hebden Bridge and further afield Skipton and the Dales). Would not hesitate in recommending, we had a lovely stay.

Really enjoyed our stay.

Cottage and location beautiful. Owners were lovely. Would definitely recommend and book again. Little gem of Yorkshire loveliness.

Lovely clean property in a very nice peaceful location.

Friendly and helpful owners on site.

Excellent.

The standard of comfort, fixtures and fittings in the cottage were amazing, made for a wonderful week which was helped by having stupendous September weather. Our immediate neighbours were sheep with swallows and martins a close second. Derek and Joan were very good hosts, on hand for any assistance we needed but not at all intrusive. We would be very happy to return for another holiday. Thank you.

Lovely cottage .

Derek & Joan were very friendly and helpful . I wished we could have stayed longer but I had to go back to work . Beautiful countryside views too . Having the downstairs bedroom and walk-in shower was really helpful for my aged mother. Parking right outside was a plus too

This is the second time we have stayed at his property, and had a lovely time on both occasions.

The property is very well presented, and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.

We loved everything about our stay at Meadow Cottage.

The owners and their family are absolutely lovely and very friendly without interfering at all. They couldn’t do enough to help. The cottage is very homely and beautifully furnished and clean. Great views across the fields. Although the weather wasn’t good during our stay we were always happy to return to such comfortable accommodation. Just one request would be for an EV charger to be installed. We have an electric car and struggled to find any local charging points. We’d definitely return if a charger was installed. Highly recommend other than that. Love to be back.

Top notch stay.

Helpful family next door. We enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Excellent location, high standard of cleanliness and a perfect selection of facilities and equipment in side the property.

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it highly as it is in a beautiful location - so peaceful and wonderful walks in the area.

A beautiful laid out, home from home , place to stay.

Everything that you needed was provided for. Beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. The only downside, if you could call it that, was it maybe a little remote for some people. But we loved it.

It's difficult to add to the previous reviews about this property on the Sykes Cottages site.

Like almost everyone, we had a wonderful 10-nights stay at Meadow Cottage, enjoying the lovely surroundings and the peace. The cottage is spacious, impeccably clean and very well equipped. Beds very comfortable. We had little contact with Joan (Derek was away), but that was also very pleasant. We'd unreservably recommend Meadow Cottage and we'll be back! One reviewer had a problem finding the cottage, but we found the directions to be clear, and any doubt towards the end of the 3 minutes' run from the main road was resolved by a helpful board at the last corner. Tip: enter Moss End Lane, Cowling, into your sat. nav. Ours didn't record the further roads, but once on that lane, the cottage's instructions are fine.

Great stay in a beautiful place plenty of space to relax in we will be back

Thank you for the wine etc on arrival.

It was lovely to chat with you and we really enjoyed our stay. Tony and Jan.

We've stayed at Meadow Cottage three times, it's a fabulous holiday home with everything you need.

It's surrounded by beautiful countryside and is so peaceful. Our daughter loves staying here, it's her favourite place. The cottage is very well equipped and we would give it 10 stars for cleanliness. We didn't know owners Derek and Joan and their family when we first stayed there but they are lovely hosts, so kind and always happy to help and we look forward to seeing them. Meadow Cottage is the loveliest place to come back to after a day out enjoying all the lovely places to visit nearby such as Harrogate, Ilkley, Skipton, Bolton Abbey and Cliffe Castle this time thanks to a recommendation from Joan.

Beautiful cottage with amazing views, Joan made us feel very welcome.

Lots of things to do around the area. Highly recommend it.

Lovely cottage, peaceful setting.

Very helpful and friendly owners Joan and Derek. Suited us perfectly.

Meadow Cottage .

. Yorkshire's finest Meadow Cottage must rate as one of the best holiday accomodations we have hired and really felt like a home from home. The property was very spacious, furnished to an extremely high standard and fully equipped with all you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Everything was found to be spotlessly clean and tidy on arrival, with the gift of wine and chocolates, a nice surprise and most gratefully received. Derek, Joan and family were wonderful hosts, always on hand if we needed them but not at all intrusive .. our friendly chats together made us feel very welcome. The location itself is ideal for exploring all the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, Brontë country is on the doorstep, but places such as York and Harrogate are still within easy reach. All in all, we highly recommend a vacation here and are already looking forward to our return visit in the not too distant future.

We had a fabulous stay at Meadow Cottage, it was absolutely spotless and we had everything our family needed for the week.

The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Our children loved all the space and having sheep all around the cottage. The cottage is situated in a great area and close to lots of places to visit. We also loved just going for walks. Would definitely recommend this cottage and would love to visit again!

Beautifully appointed cottage in idyllic surroundings.

Spotlessly clean, immaculate kitchen/diner, two good sized bedrooms and a comfortable sitting room which opens out onto a patio with outstanding views. The owner's family made us very welcome and were helpful when needed with our special requirements.

Lovely cottage - really quiet, next to a field of sheep, your only neighbours!

Good location for walks from the cottage door or travelling a short distance away by car. We enjoyed walking up Pendle Hill and Darwen Tower, both with amazing views!

We had a lovely stay at Meadow Cottage.

It is in a beautiful spot and the cottage was well furnished and comfortable. Derek and Joan made us feel very welcome and were happy to chat and make themselves available if we needed anything. We only had a short stay and wished it was longer. Lots to see and do in the surrounding area. Highly recommended!

Beautifully clean and a very warm welcome.

We had a wonderful relaxing time at the cottage.

The owners were very friendly and gave us good advice on places to go and stories about local area. The sheep and other local animals were very entertaining, especially during shearing. Thee local area is fantastic for walks and Skipton and Ilkley are great local towns to visit.

Lovely property and location.

Excellent for exploring both the Dale's and wider Yorkshire and Lancashire. Clean and well kitted out. You can't go wrong with a stay at Meadow Cottage.

This was our second visit to Meadow Cottage for our family and I cannot recommend it enough.

So peaceful, surrounded by fields and nature, full of home comforts, good WiFi and not far to the local village. Beautifully clean, inviting and fabulous owners who were friendly and would go out of their way to help if required and gave a lovely thoughtful gift on arrival. Thanks to all on making our stay perfect and of course we'll be back. Lots of places to visit nearby...Skipton, Ilkley, Harrogate, Bolton Abbey and really enjoyed nearby Wycoller Park thanks to the owner for telling us about it.....a hidden gem...and so too is the cottage.

Lovely friendly owners, relaxing location and spotless cottage.

Will return again soon.

The cottage is well furnished and peaceful in a beautiful setting.

We liked it enormously. The only issue we had was getting there. The directions are not at all helpful. We had to ring the owner to talk us in! The cottage is in an isolated location and the directions require some reference points to holidaymakers not familiar with the area. Also there are two sets of directions on the sheet which confuses.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a quiet location with views of surrounding countryside and across to Cowling Pinnacle.

Convenient for walking the Pennine Way which crosses the valley less than a mile away. The family were very friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, warm and welcoming.

There was a lovely gift from the owners. There was everything needed and the wifi was great. We loved coming back to the peaceful cottage after our day trips. Derek the owner also helped us collect our car the following day after we attended a wedding. The family was very helpful during our stay. Would definitely recommend and would definitely like to return soon.

We have just returned from a fantastic week away staying in Meadow Cottage.

The cottage is simply beautiful, extremely clean with everything you need for a relaxing week away. It is situated in a very peaceful location next to the owners cottage who were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It was great to watch the sheep in the field right next to the cottage as well as spotting lots of other wildlife throughout the week. A great place to stay to explore the Yorkshire Dales.

The cottage itself was fantastic.

. you don't need to take anything other than clothing because it's all provided! The owners were so accommodating it's unreal.. it really does feel like a home away from home and Derek and Joan feel like holiday parents.

It was an exceptional holiday in fabulous accommodation, immaculately presented, clean and very comfortable.

The owners, Joan and Derick were absolute treasures warm and helpful. With it's quiet location and scenic views of the dales it is now our 'home from home' on our return to the dales. Very sad to leave.

I can highly recommend this property.

It is in a wonderful setting, really peaceful with fantastic views. Great for spotting wildlife. Excellent location for visiting local towns, attractions and walks. The cottage itself was absolutely clean and spotless. Very highly recommended. We had a fantastic week there.

Wonderful holiday home, everything you could possibly need, exceptionally clean throughout and lovely helpful, friendly owners.

We have no hesitation in recommending Meadow Cottage and will be visiting again.

Meadow cottage was a delight.

Very spacious and comfortable. Walks from the doorstep. Within easy reach of other attractions but equally a lovely rural setting with lots of nature to observe. Thank you.

Lovely barn with friendly owners.

The only thing that is missing is a dishwasher. In your details you don't state that the bathroom is downstairs.

"WOW" what a beautiful Cottage, many holiday cottages look nice within the photos but when you arrive they dont quite fit the photos.

Meadow Cottage is just the opposite, the quality of the finish in this Cottage is just outstanding. It is just stunning, the owners Joan & Derek are a really lovely couple. The views from the Cottage are really nice, to look out of the Windows and see rolling hills full of sheep just grazing and the peacefullness brings a calm tranquil feeling to you. After all that has been happening over the last few months this was a very welcome feeling once more. The Cottage is just so comfortable and very well laid out. The town of Skipton is not to far away so any shopping that you may require i am sure that you will get from there as it has a wonderful selection of shops. The drive to Skipton as some really nice scenery to view. I truly could not fault our stay at Meadow Cottage we had a beautiful relaxing time there and we would like to thank Joan and Derek for allowing us the use of this beautiful Cottage " Thank You"

Most enjoyable holiday lovely area cottage was very nice the views great will be booking again x

Location - great, isolated, quiet - host really friendly and helpful Cottage - couldn,t fault it Lovely base for exploring area Would definitely visit again

This was one of the nicest Sykes holiday cottages we have been in.

The online pictures do not do it justice. It is a very spacious comfortable cottage with everything you need and has lovely views and easy parking. The owners were friendly and helpful. They, like all the folk we met on holiday , made us decide that Yorkshire is the friendliest county in England....and we've visited most of them . Despite iffy weather, we enjoyed this beautiful county......lovely views wherever you go. We highly recommend Meadow Cottage.

The accommodation was Brilliant and the owners was very welcoming

A fabulous week and the owners are very friendly without being intrusive.

The cottage is in a lovely position and we had some really great walking in the area. The cottage is very clean and comfortable, beds very comfortable and a great shower ... the only thing we felt would make the cottage even better would be a dishwasher and a DVD player but that is personal choice and didn’t detract from our wonderful stay here. Thoroughly recommended.

An amazing cottage which was perfect for us.

The Juliette balcony from the upstairs bedroom was lovely. It was so nice to lay and listen to the stream and the sheep. The family who own the cottage live very close by and we’re extremely friendly and helpful. They made us feel very welcome. The cottage is very well decorated and equipped. Very comfortable beds. A wonderful place to relax. We would definitely visit again.

A wonderful property in a lovely location.

Meadow cottage is situated in a most tranquil location surrounded by meadows and hill.

Absolutely no need to travel for a wide variety of walks on quiet lanes or across country. The Uclose by Green family are most friendly and helpful. The cottage was spotless, very well appointed and comfortable. Internet up to 10 mps enabling reliable Panasonic smart tv.

Such a lovely cottage.

Really well appointed, comfortable and relaxing. Great owners and really friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

Meadow Cottage was a superb cottage and the owners are wonderful, nothing was too much trouble.

I would definitely recommend the cottage and would visit again. Stunning!

Meadow Cottage is a lovely holiday cottage on a farm in rolling Dales countryside.

It is well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners are very welcoming and their introductory goodies were a nice surprise. It is well situated for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding area and ideal as a walking base.

We really enjoyed the summer break in meadow cottage.

Owners were very loving and supportive. Property was nicely cleaned and equipped. View was awsome. I strongly recommend this cottage for family. Its very family friendly property.

The hosts were very friendly & the accommodation was spotless & finished to a very high standard.

Biker friendly. I could not recommend highly enough.

Had the best few days at this lovely cottage.

It was spotless and so homely I would live there forever if I could! Family who own it are so welcoming and just lovely people. We will definitely book to come stay here again!

We had a brilliant week at Meadow Cottage.

It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and quiet, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The owners and their family, who live across the courtyard, were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. A great holiday home... we were sorry to leave and hope to be able to return again one day.

A beautiful area, but the instructions to get to the cottage were very poor.

We had to ask the way at another farm. The family who own the holiday let are very hospitable and friendly. They provided bread, biscuits, chocolate, fruit, eggs and wine and a vase of flowers for our arrival. The accommodation is spotless and very comfortable. If you are looking for a peaceful break, this is the perfect location.

Lovely newly build cottage overlooking farmland with beautiful views.

We were welcomed by friendly hosts with treats and a bottle of wine! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to escape the city.
