"Woodside Cottage was the perfect home for our weeks walking and exploring Malhamdale."
Plenty of room, tastefully furnished and very well equipped, it could not have worked out better. Centrally located in the village, it was only a few minutes away from the pubs, tea room, shop and trail heads. Although we didn’t need it there was private parking too. Our hosts went out of their way to welcome us including a whole basket of firewood to enjoy in the evenings after our walks.
The beds, linens and furnishings were all top notch. We highly recommend it.

"We had a fantastic holiday at Woodside Cottage and would highly recommend it."
We met the owner Kath who was very friendly and popped by to check everything was ok for us. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, and very well appointed with all you could need for a holiday. Very comfy bed, good shower and loads of hot water. There is a useful utility room with washing machine if you need it. Welcome gift of milk, biscuits and wine, with tea and coffee provided as well. Our cat came with us and was very relaxed and settled well in the comfy surroundings.
Woodside Cottage is central to the village with 2 good pubs on the doorstep, and is in such a wonderful setting with Malham Cove only a mile walk away, and Janet’s Foss falls not far. The YDNP landscape is stunning of course, and there are many places to see, and go to, within a reasonable distance. We thoroughly enjoyed a day trip on the iconic Settle to Carlisle line which we have long wanted to do. You could also be happy just walking from the front door and explore the area if you wish. There are plenty of leaflets in the cottage providing local information, and there is also a small tourist centre at the end of the village with info too. There is a useful bus which comes to the village if you wish to use that. We were very fortunate with the weather and there is a lovely little garden to relax in, by the beck which runs behind the property. Very handy to have the dedicated parking spaces, as the village does get busy in the day, but there is a lovely bustle about the place with people enjoying the area, and then it gets quieter when folks leave for the day. An evening walk to Malham Cove is a must. It’s a good path with beautiful scenery all around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. Thank you !

"The cottage was wonderful."
Lots of equipment in the kitchen. Bathrooms were clean and well presented. The bedrooms were clean and tidy. The garden was lovely. We hadn’t appreciated how close the cottage was to the pub, so it was quite noisy when it was warm enough for people to drink outside. If it wasn’t warm enough, then it was quiet despite being on the Pennine Way. Walks were a plenty, so no need to use the car much. There were some really useful walking books provided as well. For those taking their dogs with them, there is a really useful hose outside so the dog can be cleaned outside before going in. I wish this was a feature of all cottages that allow dogs to stay.

The house was well equipped and extremely comfortable. The communication from David was excellent. The location was also great, with easy access to the dales and with two fabulous pubs in the doorstep. The property was very clean and the wood fire was a bonus after a day on the hills. We all loved our stay and would definitely return.

"Woodside Cottage offers a warm welcome in a traditional stone cottage with woodburner (and lovely dry wood)."
Very well equipped and maintained in a clean simple style. The owners were most helpful and provided really useful information regarding our journey and provisions as we were travelling to Yorkshire by train. "Excellent location in the heart of the village, ideal for dog owners with the secure garden and pathways immediately on the doorstep."
The private parking is great especially on weekends when the village is very busy. We had a very comfortable stay and the cottage was cosy with the log burner, despite the freezing cold weather! The place was spotless and very well equipped, everything we needed for the week.
Thank you for your great feedback on your stay in our cottage. We are glad you enjoyed your holiday there and that all was as it should be for you.
