Lark Meadow

Beautiful cottage, lovely and clean, the only downside is too hot especially at night, duvet feels like winter tog, unable to open velux as raining.

The fan needs updating as too noisy & doesn't give out much coolness. Apart from that everything fine we will return Thank you.

This is a lovely, comfortable and well-kitted holiday cottage, conveniently located and well-connected, yet quiet and with fabulous views (the dawn chorus was curlews and sheep).

We enjoyed our week, which was only dampened by six days of liquid sunshine!

We were lucky to have super weather and enjoy the beautiful outside space with stunning views.

Well equipped kitchen. Just remember to use the extractor fan or your bedroom will smell of your supper! Perfect view over the fields - full of lambs at Easter. Good walking from the house.

A really nice cottage in a great location.

This was our fourth visit over a 15 year period and it never changes in any negative way. The accommodation has been thoughtfully updated but the view from the rear of the property is as beautiful as ever. Having breakfast whilst watching the sheep graze is a delight. The neighbouring Hoop Hall has closed but it doesn’t impact on the stay. We would certainly return the next time we are in the area to visit friends and family.

Property overall was clean and everything as listed.

The previous occupants dirty socks were left in a chest of drawers, this should have been disposed of at a cleaning check. The upstairs bedroom does need air conditioning. It was hot and stuffy up there even with the portable electric fan and you run the risk of it raining overnight leaving the velux windows open. The 2nd bedroom is very small for 2 adults as we found and is more suited to children. We were not given notice that there would be maintenance carried out on the patio area with painting. We had to inform the owner that ladders and ground sheets had been left outside on the patio, they were removed but the area was not swept afterwards. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but these few niggles spoilt it a little. Lovely views and the sound of the sheep but we missed having our own private garden without people walking passed.

Which we loved! Plus, thoughtful decorations throughout and nice clean/fresh bedding/towels throughout. We chose the property for the views from the back/quiet location and it did not disappoint, great rural views and quiet. We were very lucky and able to eat outside for three nights. Netflix was a bonus on rain days, as were the games/DVDS. We loved the bathrooms, great bath which was nice and deep, and one reason why we booked, as one person in our group loves a bath each day. We did find the hot water controls for the property very odd. The owner had set the hot water, when you would like the hot water, (ie for the average families needs) For our family this did not work, so we ran out of hot water on the first three nights. (unable to wash up/bath) On the third night, we did text the owner who said "Tell me how you would like the water set and I will set it" - For us not ideal. If you need hot water, you have to request hot water via the owner, each time you run out/need hot water? Quite a stressful experience. This did not work for us and was a disappointment.

Stunning location, everything you could possibly want in the kitchen and an exceptionally comfy bed. A lot of thought and care has gone into every detail and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again. A wonderful base for so many things to do and see. Thank you.

Clean, comfortable and homely. Great base for exploring between the Yorkshire Dales and south Lakes.

This is an exceptionally well equipped and well furnished property in an ideal location to explore the Lake District and the Dales.

It is within a thirty minute walk of Kirkby Lonsdale, in a quiet location and has beautiful countryside views to the rear - we loved the sheep! It was clean and well maintained. Highly recommended.

Always love staying in these properties, stayed many times next door, but haven’t seen that, or many others on the road, available to rent for quite a while.

The weather wasn’t great for the week but the place was so relaxing, reading a book whilst listening to the sheep was lovely!

We enjoyed a lovely week at Lark Meadow the property is very good, comfortable and it is in a lovely location looking out over open fields with views as far as the eye could see.

It is in an excellent location 5 minutes into Kirkby Lonsdale which is a lovely town to visit with lots of shops, cafes and good pubs to enjoy a drink or lunch. The property is in the grounds of Whoop Hall Hotel, but the hotel isn't open and has been closed now for about 15 months, which was a shame as it would have been ideal for meals and drinks if you wanted to visit.

The cottage is comfortable with a very attractive aspect.

The bathrooms on each floor was a benefit particularly to a member of our party with mobility issues. The upstairs is spacious but as the bedroom is a mezzanine any noise in the living/ dining area is audible. Great location.

Did not manage to get under floor heating past cool used gas fire in evening.

Nice quiet area very close to the main A65 but traffic not noticeable at all.

Farmers fields directly to the side and rear. Asked at the gym/pool about a day pass and they wanted £25 for 2 hours. You can walk into Kirby Lonsdale but there's quite a section on the A65 with no footpath so it's not pleasant. You can however cross the A65 and walk along a public path across a farmers field (with livestock) into Kirby Lonsdale and all around the smaller villages on quiet lanes. Some nice walking maps of the area on the mantle piece. The house had nice quality bedding and towels. Heating system was a bit of a learning curve but we got it to work. Kitchen is getting a little tired but everything worked. Cleaning was very good in some areas but left a little bit to be desired in others.

We had an amazing week at this beautiful property and will definitely be back.

Excellent cottage in a good location for visiting York dales main towns.

The accomodation was comfortable with a modern finish. Whoop Hall could not offer meals but there was plenty of local resteraunts nearby.

Lark Meadows is a superb cottage, well equipped, clean and comfortable with a lovely outdoor patio area to sit and enjoy the views.

We loved returning from a day out and relaxing together as a family; the cottage has a great supply of games and DVDs, and my daughter loved the sofa upstairs in the "snug", it was the perfect place for reading. We have previously stayed on the Meadows in another cottage so we were familiar with the site, it was wonderful to return to the area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend Lark Meadows as a relaxing base to explore Kirkby Lonsdale town, and enjoy getting out and about around the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, there's so much nearby to see and do. We would definitely book this cottage again!

Lark Meadow is a lovely property on a unique development just outside Kirkby Lonsdale.

It has wonderful views from the patio of the fields and meadows which give the development it’s name. The property itself was very comfortable and clean. I needed to contact the owner about a couple of minor points and she replied promptly, which I was pleased about. We have stayed in several properties in the Meadows and this ranks at the top. We particularly loved Kirkby and Lonsdale, two hand made sheep resting on the hearth. They made us smile every time we came into the lounge!

Soapdish would be good in the showers. Generally speaking, all good and would return.

A beautiful property with excellent amenities, a superb view from the rear and in a great location for visiting the surrounding area.

The only additions we thought would be good : Extractor fans in the bathrooms Shelf/caddy for products in the shower cubicles

Located in lovely surroundings, perfect for our weeks holiday. Would definitely stay again. I know the next-door hotel has no connection to property but it's a shame they don't do day membership for their leisure facilities.

Very comfortable holiday let which had all of the comforts you would expect at home. A stunning and quiet location. Perfect for relaxing but in a convenient location for visiting local attractions.

Fabulous views! The accommodation was comfortable and well-equipped. We enjoyed local walks and Ingleton Falls. Kirkby Lonsdale is a pretty market town and we enjoyed a couple of pub meals there. We had a really good relaxing time

Everything you could wish for provided and of good quality. Thr outlook at the back was fields full of sheep and lambs. The only disappointment was the pool at Whoop Hall wasn’t open.

Roku stick is an excellent addition. Pity the membership to the leisure club hadn’t been continued, we ended up driving to Kendal to go for a swim, sauna and steam room.

The property was just perfect for us and like a mini home from home with everything and more you'd expect from a holiday lodge.

Great views and lots to do in the area. We had a very pleasant week. On a practical note, the dishwasher leaked water all over the floor when we used it (we only used it once because of this). The dvd player was very temperamental so it didn't always recognise dvds but we were able to use our laptop instead. Also the water didn't drain too well in the wet shower room downstairs so I had to dry it so that we didn't all get wet feet when we went to the loo afterwards. A door on the shower might be more practical.

The cottage was immaculate and so comfortable.

The only trouble from neighbours were sheep and cows, such a lovely view to look out to. The owner was so lovely when we had an unfortunate accident and sorted it without any fuss to ourselves. We would highly recommend and hope to go back again in the not too distant future.
