  • "The cottage is wonderful to stay in and is clean with everything you could need."

Owner is a lovely person and are there if anything is needed. Unfortunately though I am afraid the sofa is very uncomfortable. It would be OK in a doctors waiting room to sit for a few minutes but it made our evenings difficult. This would be the reason we wouldn't come here again.

We have taken on feedback and actually have a new sofa which will be installed this week. We are sorry the sofa had such a significant impact on the quality of your stay making your overall stay so uncomfortable. Property Owner

  • "This is a wonderful property, in a quiet location, but conveniently placed for the Dales, within easy access to nearby Skipton for provisions and Gargrave for good food at the Masons Arms or the Bollywood Cottage."

A quality place making life easy as everything is here that you need and the owners are so friendly and helpful but not intrusive. There’s a useful downstairs cloakroom/boot room/laundry too. If there was any slight issue it would only be the sofa being a little bit uncomfortable. You’ll be spoiled for choice with the nearby walks in all the classic places, Malham Cove, the 3 Peaks, Grassington, Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, too many to list, and the canal is a 5-10 minute walk away. Got lucky with the week’s weather which was an added bonus. Will be very happy to rebook. Thank you

Thanks for taking the time to give your feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay! We have taken the feedback re the sofa on board and a new one will be in-situ very soon, certainly in time for your next visit! Property Owner

Highly recommended and we will return. The only slight problem we had was that the WiFi signal was weak, consequently, when watching streamed TV in the evenings, the programme “buffered”. (Frustrating but not life threatening!!) However, this traditional cottage created from an old stone barn to a very high standard is a great location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales . We loved hearing the sheep and cows with our morning cuppa, and ending the day with a glass of wine on the patio. The cottage had everything we needed, with a super-comfy bed, a rainfall shower and separate bath, and there's a log burner for the colder months. We're already planning our return trip! 30 am There were even greater problems from Wednesday onwards when workmen started resurfacing the road outside and there were times we could not even access the parking space outside the cottage and had to leave car by the crossroads. It is now after 5 pm on Thursday and we still cannot access the property by car. A neighbour tells us you were notified of the road works at least two weeks ago. We realise these things happen but would have appreciated prior notification of what to expect!! PS We have enjoyed the facilities of the cottage." The above road works spanned 3 days and I had to approach the workmen on at least 4 occastions to ascertain access arrangements.

Hi, as per the email I sent we apologised for the disruption which was beyond our control as it was done by highways council department. We unfortuatley didn't receive the letter some of our neighbours did and were not aware of the significant impact the resurfacing of the road would have on access. There was no building work going on at the neighbouring property it was painting, decorating and some minor joinery work, none of which we felt would impact on yourselves and we are sorry if it did. The cottage is a delightful converted end barn, which has been renovated to a extremely high standard, with plenty of natural oak around, along with under-floor heating, which was most welcome. Whilst compact [which is part of its charm] there is everything you need, both in terms of kitchen and living facilities. It was so warm this time there was no need for the wood-burning stove, although it does provide that warm glow if needed! Skipton is a few minutes down the road, where supermarkets, cafes, bakeshops, restaurants and much more are available. The other way, in Gargrave, is an excellent fish and chip shop - the Frying Yorkshireman! There are ample hill and canal walks from the cottage, or the car can be taken further afield - Bolton Abbey river walks are around 15 minutes away. Okay to wander, also just loved the tranquillity surrounding the cottage - a very peaceful haven, with the birds singing and twittering, on the quiet country lane.

  • "The cottage was lovely, the perfect size for two."

It was beautifully clean and has been very tastefully and creatively developed as part of this barn conversion. There are lovely touches such as the beautiful beams in the bedroom, the fabulous brass bed and the cosy wood burning stove in the sitting room area. Caroline and Alan who own the cottage and live next door were very welcoming, helpful yet unobtrusive and fonts of knowledge about the local area. The location is delightful, good walks straight from the door and easy drives up on to the moors or further afield for outstanding beauty spots such as Malham Cove.
