Description

Honeysuckle Cottage is an inviting cottage resting near Carnforth, Cumbria, offering off-road parking, a patio garden, and far-reaching country views. Set in a rural spot with walks from the doorstep and a pub just along the lane, it’s a traditional base for couples, a small family, or a group of walkers keen to spend their days outdoors and their evenings unwinding at home.

Pull in, park up, and take a moment to appreciate the setting before stepping inside. The open-plan living space brings everything together for easy holiday living; the kitchen sits ready for rustling up breakfasts before a day out, while the dining area is made for poring over maps, sharing stories, and planning tomorrow’s route. The sitting area invites slower moments when you’re back from the hills and when it’s time to turn in, you’ll find a double bedroom for a settled night, alongside a double sofa bed in the living space for flexible sleeping arrangements. Freshen up after a day on the trails in the shower room, complete with a walk-in shower.

Outside, the garden is a real highlight. With patio furniture for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine, there’s space for children to play and for your four-legged companion to stretch their legs while you linger alfresco and watch the light shift over the countryside.

For days out, Carnforth is close by for picking up essentials and enjoying a browse. Venture to Kendal for a change of pace before continuing onwards into the Lake District’s scenery, or make for Grange-over-Sands to soak up the coastal feel of nearby Morecambe Bay. Windermere also lies within easy reach, offering classic Lake District landscapes for memorable walks and unhurried exploring. However you spend your time, Honeysuckle Cottage makes a welcoming base in Carnforth, Cumbria.

Great quirky little cottage - the photo's don't do it justice!

We were met when we arrived by Sue who was really helpful, and the pint of milk in the fridge was just what we needed to make a cuppa after the long journey. The sofa bed in the kitchen has been updated since the photos were taken and the quirky layout was fun. The interior was very well maintained and beautifully clean, but the exterior is in need of a bit of TLC in places. Overall a great little place for a couple of nights which I'd definitely recommend.
