  • "Lovely cottage in an idyllic situation."

Friendly welcoming hosts who provided a lovely selection of fresh sausages, bacon and milk for breakfast. Garden is enclosed and was perfect for our pup. Lots of footpaths for walks near the cottage and only a short drive to the beach for the kids to enjoy. Would certainly recommend to family and friends.

  • "We had a fantastic time at Westerby Lodge."

The hosts are close by and very helpful and welcoming but entirely unobtrusive. The house is well-appointed and has a superb, fully-enclosed and large garden which was perfect for sitting and enjoying the solitude with a drink and wonderful for our elderly dog to wander safely around. The house is well placed for visiting the East coast resorts like Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe, as well as the lovely town of Alford and the Lincolnshire Wolds in general. We were thrilled to find a lovely 'breakfast pack' waiting for us in the fridge - those Lincolnshire sausages were exceptional - and had everything we needed to have and incredibly relaxed and peaceful holiday (the weather was mostly excellent, too!). We would happily return!

Pub was slightly restricted due to Covid-19 restrictions but this did not impact on the stay. Owners were very friendly and welcoming.

  • "The cleanliness of the cottage was exceptional."

Fantastic food in the Railway Tavern. Friendly Hosts. Good location for coastal towns. Just one little niggle - no freezer compartment in fridge. Although we were able to put anything in the freezer in the pub if we wished. Would definitely book this cottage again.

The minor setback was the shower - the water went all over the bathroom floor

Fall in love with the real Lincolnshire sausage and don't forget to take some home. We had breakfast waiting in the fridge for our arrival x Perfect base for relaxation and exploring. Our antisocial pooch had the best time too. Cannot wait to return x The new Batman and Robin aka Keith and Dawn

  • "The cottage was exceptional, the photo's do not do it justice."

We were made to feel very welcome and the owners went above and beyond to make our stay feel relaxing and comfortable. The pub is a few paces away but there is no noise at all from it. The food from the pub is award winning. The owners are very knowledgeable of the area and made recommendations for visits. We took the dog to Mablethorpe beach, by far the best beach for a dog walk that I have ever seen. All together the best place to stay with a dog. We will be back.

  • "Willerby Lodge was the best we have stayed at."

the lodge was a few steps away from the StationTavern and the food was wonderful. Made fresh and suited to your diet needs. The owners are very hospitable making you feel at home. No worries about looking for somewhere to eat after a day out, and no washing up. This made the holiday very relaxing. The photos on Sykes dont do it justice and need updating. The garden has the sun all day and the only thing you hear are the birds and occasional car. no noise from the tavern. Rabbits are fun to watch in the nearby field. It is all fenced in so the dog enjoyed her freedom. The lodge is underfloor heated making it very cosy. The wet room is big and built with plenty of safety rails. Ideal for us. It is designed with the disabled in mind so furniture can be moved if need be. We didnt want to leave, I think that says it all.

Very clean and tidy, a very nice gift left for us too. Very warm building, pity the shower didn't get hot A great place to use as a base, it's in the middle of the coast attractions. The pub was a very friendly place too. We will be back, 1st choice if in area

This is a lovely cottage, clean and well-equipped and dog-friendly! It's a great base from which to explore, within reasonable distance of Mablethorpe and Skegness, and there are many fabulous, scenic walks. The Railway Tavern is metres away- bonus!

The rooms were spotless of good size and well appointed The pub (The Railway Tavern) on the site was a short walk away and the food there was excellent. Skegness, Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea were a short drive away. We have been to this area many times over the last 40 years but this was definitely our best visit and to top it all, seven days without rain, great.

Alford is a charming market town in Lincolnshire. It is set at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is about 11 miles north-west of the coastal resort of Skegness. There is a wide range of shops including a pharmacy, grocers and two butchers as well as a large shop which specialises in doll’s houses and their contents. Alford has become an important centre for arts and crafts with many markets held throughout the year. The main market is held in the Market Place every Tuesday and Friday with the craft market being held every August Bank Holiday as well as Christmas markets being held every year. Alford is known for its Grade 1 listed working windmill, which is used commercially to produce stone-ground organic flour. Alford Manor House is a central point in the town, with its exhibitions and museum as well as a tea room and open gardens. With Alford being set in the Lincolnshire Wolds, there are plenty of walking and cycling routes to follow or even take a trip to the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway or Claythorpe Watermill and Wildfowl Gardens, where you will find plenty of birds and animals, with plenty of space to sit and relax with great views of the old mill. Within 30 mins, you will find the seaside resorts of Skegness and Mablethorpe, with great beaches, making a great playground for children and adults alike. For something different, why not visit the towns of Louth or Horncastle, which both have a good range of shops and pubs as well as regular street and farmers markets? Whatever you decide to do, you will not be short of choice for your holiday in this lovely area of Lincolnshire.
