Barn End

Ok 2nd day of 3 day visit we had no hot water or heating.

We had an incredible stay at Barn End.

Everything was finished to a really high standard and felt cosy and welcoming. We did lots of cooking and found it was pretty well equipped in the kitchen. Overall we were really comfortable and really impressed with the cottage. A great place to stay to explore Lincoln and surrounding areas!

We absolutely loved the cottage. It was gorgeous and welcoming. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely beautiful place.

Only had a short stay but oh wow. The place is beautiful finished with everything you need. The water pressure is amazing, Alwasy enough hot water for a bath or shower. The best are very comfortable(or for me anyway) plenty of storage and a beautiful surrounding. Very short drive from anything you would need. The owners are wonderful and couldn’t do enough for you. I will definitely be back again.

The Barn End was very comfortable clean and tidy.

We needed more milk for breakfast and she kindly gave us more, nothing was any trouble. Barn End was everything you want for a relaxing holiday. We will be definitely staying again.xx

We very much enjoyed our October stay at Barn End.

The property had everything we needed. A lovely warm and cosy place to return to after a days exploring the Lincolnshire countryside and beyond. We appreciated the owners friendly touch- pointing out the Hunters Moon rising over the back of the farmhouse.

Absolutely fantastic.

Such a beautiful cottage in a lovely location. We travelled from the USA and Barn End provided the rural peace and quiet we needed after a whistle-stop tour of the UK. There are 2 gorgeous bathrooms with luxury bath products provided. The kitchen has everything you need and is so well designed. The beds and sitting room are so comfortable. Top notch cottage

Lovely cottage and lovely owners.

Had everything we needed, lots within 10/15 minutes drive, was great to go back to a peaceful cottage after a busy day. Loved waking up to the birds singing in the morning, and heard owls at night too. There were a couple of nights I stayed alone with my young daughter and we both felt very safe.

Lovely comfortable cottage.

Very cosy. Had a few days here in the middle of January and the owner very kindly put the log burner on for our arrival, it was much appreciated. About 15 minutes drive into Lincoln. Will definitely be going back in the future.

Barn End is a delightful country cottage, very tastefully furnished with everything provided for a stay away from home.

The wood burner is a great source of heat,especially in a very frosty January. Peter ( the owner) had lit the fire for our arrival and kept us supplied with wood,and Catrin showed true concern for our well being during our stay. I would recommend Barn Cottage most highly,you will not be disappointed.

A lovely cosy cottage with nice decor and great facilities.

Located near Lincoln and in the countryside this was a perfect place to relax. Weather didn't matter as plenty to do inside ( games, great internet connection, tv). ENjoyed the luxury of two bathrooms and two baths! Wood was amply provided for woodburner with option to purchase more at a nominalo price if needed. Heating sytem very effective and although mid winter we didn't always use as cottage retained its heat well. Hosts were quick to respond and very friendly

We had a lovely restful and peaceful holiday in delightful surroundings, The countryside around there is very pleasant and the beautiful city of Lincoln is close by.

Lovely cottage.

Stayed for a few nights on my own and felt perfectly safe and comfortable. Great location, so quiet and peaceful even during harvest time, yet just 15 mins to Lincoln (and nearby other things like Newark/antiques fair). Easy to drive country roads and lovely to walk from the cottage down to the river. Cottage itself was comfortable, as was the bed, and the cottage had everything I needed. Will definitely be back.

We had a lovely weekend at Barn End.

Everything was perfect. The cottage was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Despite being on a working farm, it is very peaceful.

We really enjoyed our stay at Barn End, a very peaceful location and fantastic cottage with lovely owners.

The cottage is charming , lovely bathrooms and all well decorated throughout ,we enjoyed our break although the weather could have been better , the accommodation is warm and neat .

We had a fantastic stay with two small children.

Beautiful surroundings, quiet countryside, very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage has a lovely wood burning stove and a well equipped kitchen. Pleasantly surprised to find lots of DVDs available, board games, and a TV with Netflix, iPlayer etc as most cottages just have standard Freeview! We are already planning to book again for October half term! Cannot fault it, best UK holiday break we've had.

A nice cosy space to escape to - Hosts were lovely, kind and friendly, hence this is my 2nd stay here.

Well located to enjoy the countryside and also be close to Lincoln. There are walks down the lane and in the fields down to the river and elsewhere to enjoy Lincoln Countryside and 'fly pasts' by the Red Arrows who are local to here give another level to the enjoyment. A peaceful and cosy space to escape to.

The cottage was very cosy and the owners had gone above and beyond to provide a home from home experience with everything you would ever need.

It was in a lovely rural location but just 10 minutes drive from the city of Lincoln. The nearby village of Saxilby had a good range of food shops and takeaways. Beautiful sunsets and a fly past by the Red Arrows was an added bonus.

I had a lovely rural stay over Christmas with a roaring wood burner fire and beautiful views.

The bed is very comfy with the skylight window giving me views to the night sky from the bed - dreamy. The kitchen had everything I needed and there's the choice of a bath and a huge roll top bath with overhead shower. The cottage is only a short drive to Doddington Hall and has quick easy access into all parts of Lincoln. The Hosts were delightful, they were very hospitable and kind. I would book again.

I started writing this review on our first night of our stay.

What a beautiful place Barn End is, it accommodated myself, partner and both of our younger children (4 & 1) who were both excited throughout our stay. Stove lit upon arrival which gave it a cozy feel, generous supply of logs for the burner and more if needed. It really is a special place with plenty of room, it was alot bigger then expected. Easy to get around and they've really thought of everything. It has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. With only a very short 14 minute drive to the city centre your closer than you think. Host was absolutely lovely and made my children very welcome and even put on some Christmas lights which they wouldn't stop watching. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and I'm currently looking at booking our next stay.

Comfortable cottage and welcoming owners

The cottage was lovely.

Everything you need for a for a fab self catering holiday. Quaint garden with furniture for sitting relaxing. Owners very friendly and on hand if required. Nice bottle of wine on arrival.

Unfortunately owing to partner breaking ankle just before we went we were a little limited in exploring the surrounding countryside, (still highly recommended though).

Super hosts and very clean, comfortable, warm barn in pretty countryside.

Barn End is a great place to relax away from city life, with the added bonus of a short drive to visit places of interest.

Catrin and her husband are great hosts, we couldn't have asked for anything more from our holiday. Rural, peace and quite. Barn End cottage is the perfect place to stay it has everything you need for that home from home feeling.

Pleasantly surprised with the lovely rural surroundings in close approximation of the city.

The accommodation itself was spacious and well laid out, with plenty of thought given to architectural features and log fire to boot. Most comfortable experience.

Had a lovely few days stay here , clean, well equipped, fire lit on arrival and was supplied with logs throughout our stay so cozy and a peaceful location with a short hop to shops and Lincoln .

Owners respect your privacy but on hand should you need them. thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be returning. We definatly recommend barn end loved it

Absolutely wonderful stay!

Hosts were easily accessible but gave us our own space. The barn was beautiful, warm, clean and well-stocked with amenities, including logs for the fire (which was lit for our arrival!). The surrounding walks are so peaceful and we loved going down to the river for a stroll. We went into Lincoln one day which was a very short car ride away, and we even managed a NYE run on the extremely quiet country roads. A perfect, last-minute new year stay. Thank you so much!

We had a lovely two day break at Barn End.

Everything was there to help us enjoy our stay and the owners have thought of everything, with lovely home laundered bed linen and towels. Having two bathrooms was a real treat with the choice of a bath or shower. Barn End has been converted to a high standard and is located well, only being a short distance to Lincoln and also the surrounding villages with walks on the door step.

This was a very comfortable cottage to stay in with easy access to Lincoln and surrounds.

The access and comfort was well suited to an elderly person in our party. We ahd a great time and it was great to stay in the Lincolnshire countryside, with its wide open skies.

We were surprised that there was no wardrobe to hang our clothes in.

Contrary to the information given, we were not met by our host and neither did thy make any attempt to contact us during our stay. The photo on your web site showing the table and chairs by the river gave the misleading impression that this was local to the cottage. You would need to carry these items down the lane, across a large field, through a wood and over a steep bank to get to the river. It was suggested that the area would be good for cycling, which was true, but there is nowhere to store a bike safely. I had to keep my bike in the kitchen.

This beautifully done up cottage was peaceful, modern, well suited for our short break.

It was a delight and I would stay there longer with no hesitation next time to explore more of the region.

also they provided all the basics we needed, eg washing up liquid, tea towels, kitchen foil etc. They also left us milk, a bottle of red wine and some J20s which was a very nice gesture. Cottage was beautiful.

The decor and fittings were very well chosen and good quality. A very relaxing atmosphere and returned home with our batteries fully charged. Farm walk was beautiful and the hosts helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful long weekend at Barn End.

Great location to explore the area. Lots of birdsong and peace and quiet! It is a beautifully refurbished property with everything we needed. Lovely welcome with a bottle of wine, soft drinks and milk in the fridge! The wood burner was also lit for our arrival. Would highly recommend.

Barn End served as the perfect base to explore the beautiful local countryside on our bikes.

The Wolds are close by, as is the city of Lincoln, and quiet country roads made for some excellent cycling. The cottage is beautifully homely and cosy, and well-equipped with everything you need. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful and their recommended trip to Doddington Hall for the carrot cake was well worth it.

Broxholme is a great location for exploring the local area whilst also being able to enjoy the tranquility of the countryside. The hosts are lovely and were very helpful both before and during our stay. Highly recommended.

A very comfortable cottage with extremely welcoming hosts.

Beautiful little cottage absolutely perfect for our little family holiday.

Had everything we needed, catered wonderfully for our toddler as well as the adults.

The cottage is ideal as a base to travel around the East coast/Lincoln areas.

The owners were very good but let you get on with your break without pestering you. My only real problem was, there not being a shower in the main bathroom - only a trivial thing but most people enjoy a shower nowadays
