We spent a week in this lovely cottage that was amazing had everything you could want and more From the lovely thoughtful welcome packs for us and the dog to the amazing garden The only thing the owners couldent provide is the weather but the cottage is so cosy we had a lovely relaxing week and will definitely go back x Angela Dave and Frankie the pug x

  • "Tawny Owl Cottage is definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in over the last 3 years."

The accommodation is perfect for a couple with a small pet and the external space more than enough with a super hot tub. Communication about what was happening with hot tub upkeep via text messages from Louise was welcomed too. I would recommend Tawny Owl Cottage to any friends or family looking for a comfortable break. The local pub and a coop literally across the road and some nice short walks in the local area were icing on the cake for those who just want to park the car and relax. To mention any shortcomings would definitely be nitpicking. Recommended.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We really do appreciate this, as it really helps us to know if we are getting things right for our guests. We regularly hear that the local pub serves excellent food and seems to be very popular with our guests. Kindest regards Property Owner

  • "We had an amazing stay at Tawny Owl cottage."

Louise is a lovely host and has thought of everything needed for a home from home holiday. We really appreciated the welcome pack for both ourselves and our four legged friends, what a lovely touch. The property is genuinely dog friendly, no signs saying "don't do this" and "not allowed" that, throws were provided for the sofas and their comfort etc. The cottage is super comfortable and the garden and hot tub fabulous. We enjoyed a fair few hours out there with the pooches, enjoying a tipple at the tiki bar and a soak in the HUGE hot tub. The cottage is in a lovely area with lots to explore nearby. There's a pub within a 2 minute walk and a CO-OP across the road - very convenient if you fancy a cosy day in. All in all, couldn't fault it and can't wait to return which we definitely will. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay, see you soon!

Thank you so much for leaving such a fabulous review! We do try really hard to ensure our guests thoroughly enjoy their stay and we LOVE dogs, having one ourselves, so we know how important it is for them to be comfortable so their owners can relax and enjoy their stay. You are welcome back anytime. Take care until then. Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay the property is exactly as the listing."

Our dogs loved the enormous garden lots of running space for them and we made the most of the hot tub, can’t wait to book again. The owners had thought of everything the welcome tray and doggy treats were lovely. The owners were great and checked we were all ok with everything. We enjoyed a lovely meal at the pub just along from the property and the seaside is only a 20 minute car ride. We were more than happy with the property , our stay was very relaxing just what we needed.

Many thanks indeed for taking the time to leave such a helpful review. You are most welcome to return anytime. Kind regards Louise and Paul. Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage in a great location."

Owners were lovely and left a good welcome pack including treats for our pups. Fabulous garden and we made good use of the hot tub. The dogs loved having a large area to run around in. We had a lovely meal in the Axe and Cleaver pub which is less than a 5 minute walk. Co-op next door to pub was very well stocked.

Thank you very much for your review and taking the time to leave this. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your time at the cottage. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was as described, being very clean and comfortable."

The garden was exclusively private with excellent facilities however a parasol would have been beneficial as the weather we had was constant sunshine. The owners were always available if needed and were very friendly, but not intrusive. We would highly recommend.

Hello, Many thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. It is much appreciated. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have now organised a parasol for the outdoor area. Thank you Property Owner

The property

Resting on the outskirts of Lincolnshire, in the coastal village of North Somercotes is Tawny Owl Cottage, a delightful, single-storey abode.

Just paces away from a host of local amenities and a short journey from the beach, the cottage offers guests a stylish open plan interior, with a homely snug to relax in and a large pet-friendly garden with a 6 seater hot tub and tiki bar, the accommodation invites two visitors for a relaxing getaway, with two furry companions in tow.

Travel down the private shared driveway and park up outside before entering the well-equipped kitchen/diner, providing everything that you'll need for a self-catered stay, including an electric oven and hob, and a convenient breakfast bar with USB charging sockets, desk phone charger and a music system.

If you'd prefer to dine alfresco, locate the large private rear garden, complete with several patio areas, a barbecue, a bubbling hot tub, a hammock, an egg chair and a tiki bar with fridge and truly spoil yourself with an indulgent soak before toasting to some quality time.

Refresh later in the sleek shower room ahead of cosying up in the snug in front of the woodburning stove.

Then climb into the plush double bed before you awake feeling refreshed and spend a day exploring your surroundings, starting with a hike across one of many nature reserves enveloping the area; choose from Donna Nook Grey Seal Colony, Rimac Nature Reserve, and Gibraltor Point, all peppered with wildlife.

Make your way towards the Lincolnshire Wolds AONB, firstly stopping off at the quaint market town of Louth and take in a Museum Tour, or climb Hubbard's Hills for a breath-taking vantage point and stroll along the meandering stream.

Spend another day at Cleethorpes Beach and enjoy award-winning fish and chips on the pier, then aboard a steam train on the coastal light railway for a fun experience, brush up on your local knowledge at Time Trap Museum, or explore the local country park.

Continue south towards both Mablethorpe and Skegness beaches; both recommended to visit for a host of seaside attractions or stay closer to the cottage and visit Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes which is an area of specific scientific interest.

Tawny Owl Cottage really does offer it all, from lovely countryside rambles accross the Wolds to coastal days out, as well as the opportunity to relax and unwind!
