"Beautiful and with lovely, far reaching views."
Farmland on all sides and you can even see ships making their way down the Trent from the back of the hut. Everything we needed for a weekend stay - the fire warmed the hut up so quickly although remember to bring your own fuel!
Bed was huge and super comfy, great views while I had my morning cuppa. Friendly alpacas and sheep in the field behind always having a nosey at what we were doing. Lots of wild life around and easy location to get to the Humber and the various nature reserves along the Humber banks (many not dog friendly though so do check!). We had a day out in Lincoln which was an easy hours drive.
Would love to come back in the summer to try out the decking and the BBQ!
Thank you for your kind words. Glad you both enjoyed it.

"Would recommend amending Wi-Fi description and mentioning good 5G."
Incredibly comfortable bed; great high powered, hot shower. Two gas hob burners and little oven perfect for making meals. Lovely little wood burner to take away the morning and evening chill. Enjoyed waking up to Guinea fowl, alpacas, sheep, hares, deer and a peregrine falcon hovering overhead. Super sunrises and super peaceful. Spotlessly clean. Will goes above and beyond in helping his guests. Highly recommend.

"Fabulous stay."
Super quiet. Just what I needed. Very comfy bed and amazing power shower. Perfect for my dog too.
Wi-Fi a bit erratic but as I was there to completely shut down, that didn't matter.
Really hope to be able to visit again. Will was very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much.

"Hello,
Another holiday at this great location and the excellent Shepherd's Hut, this is my second time within a month."
Nice to see Will again. Plenty of birds both on the farm and at Blacktoft Sands close by. Enjoyed watching the combines getting the wheat in and the wildlife. Glad to see the Alpaca's again. Looking forward to next visit.

"Hello,
This was my first stay at Shepherd's Hut and certainly won't be my last!"
It was clean as expected and for me as a birdwatcher perfect with lots of birds in the surrounding area, the alpaca's were cute and assorted wildlife were there to see. William is the perfect host he always makes sure you are happy and attends to your needs.
Blacktoft Sands (RSPB) is three miles away with a £5 entrance fee for non members and free for members, I spent eight hours there seeing 38 species of birds but I almost got locked in due to closing at 18:00. Another excellent nature reserve which is close by at twenty miles is Messingham Sand Quarries on the Kirton road, it has two hides and several lakes.
Normanby Hall Country Park is also a good place to visit with a walled garden and plenty more to view.
By the way Garthorpe/Fockerby where the Shepherds Hut is, isn't in Scunthorpe (my town) it's fourteen miles away.
Would certainly recommend coming to William's hut for a stay.
Cheers John T.

"A lovely place to stay we have booked to go back in January for two weeks."
Only one thing really there is a smell of cigarette smoke in the cottage especially in the cupboard in the bedroom but this still hasn't put us off staying again. Owner has thought of everything lovely property .

"Wow! So many words describe this wonderful place."
Beautiful, peaceful, luxurious bed, bedding and towels, warm and cosy, clean and comfortable. So lovely to see sheep , alpacas, geese and squirrels in the field surrounding the Hut and to overlook the countryside. Will is a lovely host making sure everything is ok and nothing was too much trouble for him. What an amazing achievement, building the Shepherds Hut to such a high specification with so many lovely details. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend a stay.

"We've stayed in a few shepherd's huts, but never one quite like this."
Superb facilities, sparkling clean, and a bed so comfortable I wanted to bring it home! The owner, Will, is friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble, yet he was mindful of our privacy at all times. There's a lot of hard work gone into this, and it shows.
Oh, so quiet, and peaceful, our stay was utter bliss. A complete rest from the hustle and bustle of our lives. Our little dog absolutely loved it too. Thank you for a fabulous stay

It was very clean, well equipped with small attention to detail. Not forgetting the beautiful farm life animals in the gated off area around the hut. The host is very accommodating and friendly, overall we enjoyed our little stay and would highly recommend it!
