The property

Tennyson Spa, a welcoming lodge on Kenwick Woods Holiday Park near Louth in Lincolnshire, sits quietly among the trees, where the breeze moves gently through the branches and the countryside stretches out beyond.

With an on-site car park for easy arrivals, this wooden lodge offers a peaceful base for couples looking to explore the area at their own pace.

Race inside to wash off the day in a practical shower room, complete with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, ready to refresh.

The heart of the lodge is its open-plan studio space, where the sitting area and kitchen blend.

The double bed sits opposite the TV, with a DVD player for quiet evenings in.

The kitchen is well-equipped with an oven, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, and toaster, everything you need to prepare a meal for two.

Meals are shared at the dining table, where time slows and conversation flows.

Step out onto the enclosed decking, and the pace shifts again.

Whether it’s a morning coffee with birdsong or a glass of wine as the light fades, the outdoor furniture offers a place to pause.

And for those seeking a little indulgence, the hot tub bubbles away, ready to round off the day.

Whether you’re wandering through market towns or tracing paths through the Lincolnshire Wolds, Tennyson Spa offers a quiet return after each day’s adventure.

LOUTH

Mablethorpe 15 miles; Skegness 23 miles; Lincoln 26 miles.

When ready to discover the very best that the area has to offer, grab your walking boots and head for the Lincolnshire Wolds – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; or nearby Hubbard’s Hills. You can enjoy a beach day at any time of year on the vast beaches of the Lincolnshire coast – Theddlethorpe or Moggs Eye are good places to start. For something a bit more lively try any of the well-known coastal resorts – Cleethorpes, Sutton-on-Sea and Skegness. A 45 minute drive takes you to Fantasy Island theme park at Ingoldmells, where you can ride thrilling rollercoasters or just enjoy the faces of your family and friends riding them! The Georgian market town of Louth is a hidden gem. The town is blessed with a wide range of independent shops and eateries. For something cultural, visit the Louth Museum, or take a look round the impressive medieval parish church with its famous spire.Nature lovers will love local nature reserves at Red Hill, Snipe Dales, and the internationally important Donna Nook and Gibraltar Point reserves. All the family will love exotic menagerie at Woodside Wildlife Park. A visit to Lincoln is a must. Take a walk up Steep Hill – browse the shops, eateries and pubs up this historic route (take your time, it’s called ‘Steep for a reason). When you reach the summit, you have the opportunity to visit the historic castle and the world famous cathedral (see if the kids can spot the elusive Lincoln Imp). Once you’ve made your way back down the hill, reward yourself with a drink or meal beside Brayford Pool marina! Further afield you can take a trip across the impressive Humber bridge, and spend a day in Hull at ‘The Deep’ Aquarium, one of the largest in the country.
