Old Wood Coach House

Loved our stay at Old Wood Coach House.

It was the most perfect stay for myself husband and I, our 2 year old daughter and German shepherd. The garden was closed off so very secure for him to roam around, and just outside of the gates, you have gorgeous walks right on your door step! Beautiful home, stunning location

This cottage stay was just perfect for us.

Lucy our GSD so loved it and did not want to return home. The facilities and standards of cleaniless were second to none. The location is idyllic. Our hosts were so thoughful with a warm welcome and goodies for all. We are wishing to book for next year. We cannot wait.

From the moment we arrived we felt like we were relaxed and extremely comfortable, there was an amazing welcome pack with homemade produce, we were warmly welcomed by Katharine and David who were available should we have needed anything during our stay, they gave very useful suggestions on local places to eat & visit.

The accommodation and grounds are absolutely perfect, there is everything you need. We loved sitting on the veranda, eating our meals whilst watching the beautiful array of birds feeding from the feeding station as well as the cheeky squirrels pinching the bird food. Everything we needed for our dogs was available from lovely treats, food/water bowl, doggy shower with shampoo and towels and totally secure grounds for them to wander around in. There is a coal bbq and firepit for your use. In fact there was nothing we felt was missing or could have been improved on, and to top it off you are right at the edge of the woods. This was our 3rd year staying at Old Wood Coach House and have already booked again for next year. We highly recommend this accommodation it the best cottage we have ever stayed in.

Old Wood Coach House is in a beautiful location - it feels as though you are miles from anywhere and yet very close to Lincoln.

We spent so much time on the balcony enjoying the weather and the wildlife in the trees. Lovely woodland walks right on the doorstep and easy access to the Sustrans cycle way. Genuinely dog friendly property with very thoughtful touches like a dog bed cover provided to protect the bedsheets and a 'dog wash' in the utility room. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Welcome pack was excellent including homemade products. Would thoroughly recommend.

The place was wonderful , comfortable hidden away so you felt at peace with the lovely surroundings of the old wood and Hag wood as you step out the front door.

High standard of accommodation in lovely peaceful woodland setting.

Old Wood Coach House is by far the best dog friendly property we have stayed in. Fully fenced and secure garden was loved by our Gordon Setter Flora. Walks in all directions from the gate. Added bonus was a Marks and Spencer’s Food Hall only a ten minute drive away. No hesitation in recommending this lovely spot.

We absolutely feel in love with the old coach house from the moment we walked in we started to relax and chill out The welcome pack was the best we've ever had in a holiday cottage the slow gin was amazing the gooseberry and orange drizzle cake was to die for and OMG the jam was lovely We loved listened to the birds singing in the evening while walking our dog in the woods was a treat We have a rule never to back to a holiday cottage twice but for the old coach house we would break that rule We can not recommend the old coach house highly enough a 5 star accommodation Steve ,Joanne ,and pip ( boarder collie)

A really lovely place, Katharine was on hand by text if we needed her but gave us our space to do our own thing.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay and exceptionally dog friendly.

Old wood is literally straight out of the garden gate and can be enjoyed from a distance sat on the living room balcony. Owners introduced themselves at the beginning of our stay, good communication beforehand but otherwise we were left to enjoy the peace and quiet. Not a criticism, but worth mentioning that as all the living area is half in the roof, tall people may find that an inconvenience. Would definitely stay again

This was our second visit and it didn't disappoint .

The hosts made us welcome and then left us in complete privacy. The welcome pack was well received by humans and dogs ! . After enjoying superb walks in the forest, which are straight from the door step, the indoor dog shower facilities are a god send. All the kitchen utensils you could need and all easy to use appliances. Settle down in front of the log fire. The perfect way to end a perfect day. This is a cottage not to be missed.

The property is very well equipped and maintained to the highest standard, it is spotlessly clean and tidy, a real credit to the owners. The owners are very friendly and helpful, meeting us on arrival with a lovely welcome pack provided to enable us to relax right away. The guest information pack contained everything you could possibly need to know about the property and the area, making The Old Wood Coach House feel like a real home from home.

We felt privileged to stay in the Old Wood Coach House.

It's gorgeous accommodation in a wonderful location, with kind and welcoming owners. We particularly enjoyed the bird-feeding station thoughtfully placed opposite our balcony, which was busy and entertaining all day. The weather wasn't the best for sitting on the balcony but we could see just as well through the huge windows. The Coach House is so well designed and thought out, with everything we might need. There was even a pair of binoculars in case we hadn't brought our own. We very much enjoyed making a cosy fire, although we were easily warm enough when we didn't light the stove, despite cold February nights. We arrived hungry and before having shopped for groceries, but that wasn't a problem as Katharine and David had read our minds and we were soon tucking into buttered crumpets with homemade jam and a nice cup of tea. (Not to mention the cake and damson gin we enjoyed later.) Thank you for our woodland week!

This is our second time visiting old wood cottage, and we just loved every minute of our stay.

Katherine and her husband greeted us when we arrived which was lovely. The welcome pack we had was so lovely banana and chocolate chip cake, crumpets, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, damson gin which was so gorgeous, and tonic water, perfect. They even had towels, blankets and biscuits for our dogs. And a spare duvet just in case they wanted to sleep on the bed. They have thought of everything. Maya and Freya loved the garden and the walk in the woods, even if it was very soggy. We have already booked for next year.

We've been going to rural cottages for the last 10 years, so our dog Milo doesn't have to suffer the fireworks, and can say that The old wood coach house, really was the perfect spot, right in the woods, with lots of dog walks literally right outside the gate.

The accommodation was pristine, beautifully designed, very well equipped, and the living area and balcony made you feel like you were staying in a posh tree house, amongst the canopy of the trees. The most dog friendly place we've ever been to, ever! The homemade treats on arrival were just amazing, cake, jams, and even Damson gin. We'd return in a heartbeat.

Fantastic cottage, well equipped and loads of walks straight from the door.

We parked up on Monday and didn't move the car again until we left on Friday. Found plenty of pubs for lunches within an hour's walk of the cottage. Owners very friendly, met us on arrival and gave us a quick run down of everything we needed to know then left us to it. Lovely and thoughtful welcome items, would recommend and would be likely to book here again.

Facilities were good; there wasn’t anything that we needed that wasn’t provided. The owners provided a welcome pack with nice treats, which we much appreciated. Perfect location for dog owners.

A comfortable home on the edge of a wood for walking. An enclosed garden allows pets to roam freely. A dog shower is a great addition when your dog gets messy. The balcony gave wonderful views of the wood and wildlife. However, attention to cleanliness of this area was not the same as the inside. Difficult, I admit, when surrounded by birdlife but on arrival it would’ve been nice to be able to sit without having to clean the furniture first. A small minus to what was a wonderful, relaxing stay that I can fully recommend.

Everything about our stay was perfect.

The coach house really is in the middle of the forest and gave me a sense of calm and relaxation that I have never experienced before. It’s also the most dog friendly property we have ever stayed in, the owners have thought of everything. I highly recommend staying here.

Old Wood Coach House was everything we hoped it would be for our Christmas holiday!

The location is fabulous and Katharine was a fantastic host; great communication and quick to respond to our questions, she even popped in in person to welcome us. The Christmas tree with decorations left for the children to put on was a really special touch, thank you, and the rest of the house was beautifully festive too. The cottage had everything we needed (even kitchen scales and toasting forks!) was warm, comfortable and full of character. The home-made goodies left for us were also very much appreciated, and the eco-friendly products and practices used at the property clearly Katharine and David's committment to sustainability. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely stay this weekend at Old Wood Coach House.

It is situated at the end of a lane so very peaceful. Very clean which is something I always look for. Owner came to introduce herself and see if there was anything else we needed. There were a few little extras left for us which was a nice surprise. We had our dog with us and the extras for her including her own shower was a great touch.

The property was WOW!

! We absolutely loved it. It was so beautiful and you thought of practically everything, it was so comfortable and welcoming. It was right in the woods and we did actually walked all the way to Doddington. Our dog Maya loved it too walks in the woods every morning, she was the first out of the door and the last back in. We loved watching the squirrels and all the birds. We also saw the Red Arrows on several occasions. I would suggest a pair of scissors in the kitchen drawer for opening packets. We will definitely be back next year but stay longer.

We found the Old Wood Coach House a very comfortable, spacious property that is located in a perfect position right by the Old Wood.

We were able to relax and unwind right away. We found the property ideal for the holiday we wanted. We didn't put the TV on once the week we stayed! We found that all the necessities were provided (toilet roll, clothes, washing up liquid etc..) so we didn't have to rush out on day 1 to stock up, which we found great as we could enjoy our holiday from the start. All in all a great holiday home which we will return to, hopefully next year at some point.

Outstanding.

The place itself is not only the cleanest holiday rental we have ever stayed in, it has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The owners have thought of everything for both people and dogs. There is a detailed excellent list of facilities in the area, things to do and places to eat. They provided blankets, towels and throws for the dogs along with treats & bowls and the shower area is genius. You can do everything you need to in the downstairs utility room with the dogs so they are clean to go upstairs. If you are looking at this place but are worried about dogs having been there, don't be as it's super clean. The lovely attentive owners are on hand if you need anything via text or phone. Other than popping round to say hello after you arrive, to ask if you need anything, you don't see them and they completely respect your privacy. A little welcome pack is waiting for you with homemade goods, which are beautiful. The area is idilic and very peaceful and the woods are fantastic for walking the dogs. Both our dogs loved it and 1 of them spent most of her time on the balcony watching the wildlife and the birds and squirrels on the bird feeder. The garden is completely secure and large, sometimes a property says its secure, but it's not. So nice to be able to let the dogs roam and not have to worry about them escaping. Our only complaint was that we were only there for 3 days and really wish we had booked for a week. We all had a wonderfully relaxing few days and slept amazing well, we wish more rentals were like this. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for people and the fury family to spend their holidays. Fabulous.

Absolutely loved the accommodation, very clean.

Everything we needed and was provided with lots of home baked/made goods. The balcony makes the living space and nice and isolated. My dog loved the woods with plenty of trails to walk. Excellent place to stay and owners were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend, as had a fantastic week.

My Husband, myself and our two dogs have the most amazing week away, I have never gone a day without feeling stressed in my life, I'm a serial stressed - BUT whilst staying at the Old Wood Coach House I didn't feel an ounce of stress during my entire stay.

The Coach House itself was just beautiful, welcoming, cosy and I felt right at home - you can clearly see a LOT of thought had gone into making it the most special place to be! We loved that we had goodies waiting for us when we arrived - it all just felt very personal and we loved it! Our dogs absolutely lost them self this week in the best way - they loved having the freedom to run around the enclosed forest garden and I enjoyed just watching them be free without the worry they'd catch a scent and run off. The Forest walks that are literally on your doorstep were just breathtaking and we all enjoyed it, we even enjoyed the walks in the rain and stomping in muddy puddles because there was a dog shower at the house to wash them off easily! I never have a full uninterrupted nights sleep and am always up to go to the toilet and with a sore back, we the mattress and bedding was so comfortable I had the best night's sleeps during my stay. We enjoyed their lovely homemade gin infront of the fire every night and it couldn't of been better. I was so incredibly upset to be leaving but we have already started looking at when we can come back, and hopefully for longer than a week. Thank you so much to Katharine and David, you both are just amazing.

We had such a lovely stay at Old Wood Coach House.

The hosts greeted us after we’d settled in telling us about the coach house and local area. We loved the woodland walks from the doorstep, the garden was enclosed for our collie dog to explore and the wood burner kept us warm and cosy for relaxing in the evenings. We feel rested from our stay there.

This is a beautiful house and the friendly owners have gone the extra mile to make sure you feel especially welcome.

We only had time for a very short stay and wished we could have stayed longer. It's the perfect spot to unwind and relax in comfort.

The location of the property is fantastic and our dog had the the best time exploring the neighbouring woods. For cyclists, there are a network of cycle paths close by and we had a lovely ride to Doddington Hall which is a must visit. The property itself had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and we were made to feel very welcome by the owners. A real gem of a property.

This property is attached to the owners property it is their garage extension.

It is not private. You can see the owners going about their daily lives. For the amount of money we spent it was disappointing. We ran out of wood after two days in winter and didn’t feel comfortable asking for more. We left early as I was Ill and no longer feeling comfortable in the space. The property is clean, it’s open plan and they leave a hamper of homemade food and drink. Lots of rules about cleaning and keeping the property clean which just felt like pressure when on holiday. The baby gate at doesn’t fit into the space at the top of the stairs so if you have a child do not let them lean on it they will fall. The wood is beautiful and literally a 2 second walk from the gate.

The place was spotless and quiet with lots of lovely walks on the doorstep. The owners went out of their way to make us feel so welcome and comfortable. We will be definitely staying again. There is one thing that may be a problem to some people. No Internet, but not a problem for us.

The most perfect place if you are taking a dog.

The house is well set up to cope, and the location is fantastic. We were able to walk the dog from the front door to the adjacent wood with no lead.

The cottage was beautiful.

Everything was provided. Wi-Fi is definitely required. People need to keep in touch with their families, it needs to be made clear when selecting this cottage that there is no signal at all. Perfect for dog walkers.

A truly wonderful stay.

We received a really warm welcome from the owners both in person and a great hamper. The homemade chocolate cake was delicious with a cup of tea on arrival!! The location was fabulous. It felt remote but it was conveniently close to a well stocked shop and pubs!! We loved every minute and the dogs had a ball. The utility area with dog shower was amazing and something that I now want at home. Will definitely return.

An truly idyllic place to stay.

This was our second stay at The Old Wood Coach House and I can only say we appreciated it even more the second time around. It has everything you need, and all that you never knew you needed! The owners have produced a lovely holiday home in a peaceful, tranquil environment. Perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by nature, and accessible only by small tree lined roads, it's a little like travelling into a fairytale. The love, energy and effort that has gone into creating such a beautiful and natural retreat can be seen in an abundance of small details. The gently cultivated garden encourages local wildlife and one can lose hours watching the birds, squirrels, frogs and others roam free. Our little dog was a tad confused when one day he stepped outside into what can only be described as a "cloud of butterflies!" The house is also not short of "mod cons", to name just a few - rainfall showers in both bathrooms (one also has a bath tub), a "smart" hob and oven, a speaker for your playlist if you so choose , many little touches that make sure your stay is as easy, comfortable and pleasant as possible. There is no wifi, very little "cell signal" or "data coverage", but it can be found in certain areas of the house and garden if wanted or needed. It was a refreshing change not to be held hostage by pinging phones or computers, but also handy to know we could access it if need be. The owners, although only next door, are not intrusive, and ensure their guests are given privacy. However, in the event of any issues, they are friendly; quick, efficent in dealing with them. Local amenities are near by and easily accessible. Essentially, one has the best of all worlds at The Old Wood Coach House.

Idilic spot and beautiful home would definitely stay again

Old Wood Coach House is a very comfortable, well maintained place to stay in beautiful secluded surroundings.

The owners are very welcoming and approachable and I would highly recommend this accomodation if you're looking for a place to stay near Lincoln especially if you are bringing dogs with you.

Tranquil holiday home on the border of Old Woods provided everything we needed for a self catering break with our dog and newborn baby.

Dog wash facilities were much needed as it rained a lot during our stay so local paths were quite muddy - useful for the pram too. Dog bowls, towels and complimentary treats were a nice touch, as was the optional travel cot, baby bath and baby gate. Enclosed garden was a must and managed to keep our bouncy beagador secure. As the property is adjacent to a public footpath our dog barked a lot at passers by but the owners (who live in the next door property) were understanding. Didn't manage to use the bbq/fire pit, or balcony that often, because of the rain which was a shame. We didn't venture out too far, just to Doddington Hall which was about an hour walk there and Hartsholme Park which was a 10 min drive.

A beautiful, warm and cosy property with superb fixtures and fittings quiet with immediate access to the woods so ideal for our 2 dogs and us.

Superb property in a very private location.

We loved the details provided by the host (freshly baked cake on arrival, jam and marmalade, fridge full of essentials etc). They didn't have to do this and it wasn't expected but such a lovely touch. Lincoln is only 15 mins away by car and the local village has a lovely pub and a few takeaways if you're feeling lazy. There are plenty of woodland walks on your doorstep so this is great if you're taking kids, pets or if you just fancy a romantic walk with your other half. My only negative about the property was the lack of WiFi as I received little or no signal while in the building. WiFi isn't stated on the amenities but I assumed it would have it regardless as most cottages usually do these days. Bottom line, great destination and a very welcoming host. I have recommended to a few people already and we may come back in the Summer. Thanks for being such a lovely host. Ryan.

Exactly as listed and above expectations in every way. Perfect homely touches, amazing walks in the local area and a brilliant idea with the dog shower!

Fabulous accommodation, ideally located for lovely dog walks in the adjacent woodland, and a coffee at nearby Doddington Hall is a must.

Also very near to Lincoln, where we visited a couple of times, one of the visits to the excellent Christmas Market. We would highly recommend the property for a stay, the owners, Katherine and David, and daughter Isla are very nice, and friendly, a lovely welcome pack was in the lodge for our arrival. We are hoping to return sometime in the future for another holiday and more exploring an area of the Country that we haven't often been to previously.

What a fabulous cottage and location .

If you are thinking about going then think no more and book it ! . Absolutely perfect set up for our canine buddies. Fantastic woodland walks straight from the doorstep and when you get back straight into the doggy shower room for a warm wash down , just simply amazing. The cottage itself is so warm and cozy . We didn't light the log burner as it was warm enough without it but it certainly looked great . The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious. There was a welcome basket waiting for us which was fab with a home baked chocolate loaf too ! . The lovely owners greeted us on arrival and made us very welcome and though their property is situated next door they were not all intrusive. I have been to lots of holiday lets and if you are looking for a quiet retreat without a phone signal or wi-fi ( bliss ) then this is the place for you . You won't be disappointed.

From the first glance as we drive into the grounds we were amazed. The owners thought of everything. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. There was enough space for lounging around inside and sitting out for dinner on the decking overlooking the peaceful forest. There were lovely walks to go on with the dog. We had lovely evenings around the fire pit and simply had enough time to sit back relax and take it all in without having to think about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. What an amazing property, all mod cons in a traditional setting.

All you could wish for and extremely clean. dog shower is a brilliant little touch. Perfect for a relaxing, no fuss holiday but within easy driving distance to loads of interesting places. Spend many of hours watching wildlife and walking in the woods, hardly saw another person, perfect escapism from a hectic life. The enclosed garden, is large, loads of opportunities for kids (and adults) to be kids, building dens and exploring the natural gardens. This has to be one of the best holiday lets we have ever stayed in. Thank you for creating this perfect house/ holiday let.

WOW!

If you want to get away for some peace and quiet this is the place for you. Set in woodland with cyclepaths and bridleways where you and your four legged friends can exercise safely while looking for elusive deer. The let itself is gorgeous with a balcony akin to a tree house, and the lovely owners, Kath and David, have thought of everything. This is one of the best equipped we have ever visited, and we have been to many. Lincoln is a beautiful city and only a few minutes drive or cycle away. Would we go back? YOU BET!!

Excellent individual property, huge dog friendly enclosed garden with easy access to woodland walks.

Dog shower a real bonus. Lovely welcome from family and an excellent thoughtful welcome pack. Homemade Lemon drizzle cake was lovely and even our dog had treats. Particularly enjoyed watching the squirrels robing the bird feeders from the large balcony in a morning and evening. Easy accessible to both local and coastal amenities. Great place, very comfortable and highly recommended.

Although there is no Wi-Fi and limited phone signal, we don’t see that as a negative, in fact it was nice to disconnect for a while in a peaceful and quiet location.

It is a delightful property in an idyllic setting.

The only slight problem is that there was no internet and no phone coverage although this made for a very peaceful week. The local Park, only half a mile away gave phone coverage and also allowed me to download books to my Kindle so it wasn't really a problem.

We had a lovely break at the old wood coach house.

Hosts were easy to contact prior to our stay and very welcoming, and we really appreciated the cake, wine, bread and jams provided on arrival. The coach house itself was lovely, comfortable and clean and in a lovely setting. Although the coach house is on the property with the main house, it felt very private and separate. The local shop and pub are close enough to walk to and it is not far to travel to Lincoln town centre. We would definitely stay again and would recommend for a relaxing countryside getaway.

Lovely secluded property with easy access to facilities and local services.

High standard of fittings much appreciated. David and Katharine on hand if any issues but equally leave you alone to enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

We really enjoyed staying at this cottage and the owners could not have been nicer and more helpful.

We loved being in the woods which offered a myriad of different walks which our dog really loved twice a day.We are guilty of missing wifi but the nice cottage and location made up for it. There was everything we needed plus a very nice welcome basket. The garden was fully fenced so we did not need to worry about letting our dog outside. We would certainly recommend Old Wood Coach House, thank you!

Old Wood Coach House certainly has the "wow" factor .

A perfect place for a peaceful retreat from the outside world, but close enough to local places to visit. Decorated to a very high standard and is very well equipped, including a doggie shower on the lower level. The accommodation offers two great showers and the dishwasher was an added bonus. The main living area is upstairs and overlooks the local wood which is next door to the property and offers a great place for walking . The view from the lounge and outside verandah gives the feeling of staying and living in a tree house . Katharine and David were perfect hosts and live next door to the property and were very attentive in filling up the logs for the log burner and the nuts and seeds for the bird feeders which attracted many different bird life and funny antics by the squirrels. Their welcome pack was very thoughtful and very much appreciated ,including homemade.jams,lemon drizzle.cake and vase of daffodils .1 If you want a place away from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and a delightful home from home to relax and recharge your batteries ,this is the place to come .No WiFi helps in the unwinding and relaxation process. A real tonic and fantastic property ,highly recommend and will definitely return.

This property is in the most idyllic setting on the edge of the wood, lovely to sit out on the balcony watching and listening to the wildlife, or on a clear night under the stars….

. or around the fire pit downstairs. The hosts have thought of everything - I always think there is some way of improving but on this occasion I am not sure how this place could be improved upon! We will definitely be booking again!

Lovely property set in beautiful surroundings on the very edge of woodland.

The house was decorated for Christmas and lit with fairy lights which really made us feel Christmassy. The homemade cake and jams were a lovely touch as well as everything we could need for our dog. We will definitely be back in the Spring for another stay.

We had a great stay at Old Wood Coach House.

The cottage is fantastic, beautifully renovated and every detail has been thought about. This was our first holiday with our new baby and the accommodation couldn't have been more perfect. The owners even supplied a cot, baby bath and highchair for us. The location was fabulous – it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, yet only 10 minutes' drive from the centre of Lincoln. It really was the best of both worlds. Shops and pub nearby, and woodland walks on the doorstep.

Loved the week away, excellent location and loved Lincolnshire.

If I had to make a criticism it would be mind your head when in the cottage, a few parts in cottage are restricted height other than that Katherine and David were excellent hosts, the welcome hamper is excellent and the cottage has everything you need.

Friendly family welcome together with a wealth of tourist treats in the surrounding area. The highlight was sitting on the balcony overlooking the woods and hearing all the birdsong.

A beautiful Coach House that really has the "Wow!

" factor. Nestled in the woods, this little gem was quality throughout. Sitting on the balcony (enjoying the Welcome Pack) with just the woods, Blue Tits, woodpeckers and squirrels for Company was the perfect getaway from the stresses of everyday. The sound of birdsong and the wind in the trees just relaxed the whole family. Although in the woods, it was just 5 miles from Lincoln, and with some great country pub/restaurants within a short drive and plenty of things to go and do/see, it was the perfect basecamp. Katharine and David were the perfect hosts who never bothered us, (expect to bring flesh flowers) but who were always nearby if we needed help or advice. This has only just come available and we were the second set of guests but I'd advise you to hurry and book as this will be snapped up.

Our friendly hosts have created a beautiful holiday home, finished to the highest standard. As their first guests we greatly appreciated the fantastic welcome pack of everyday necessities plus tasty treats including wine, home-made cake, jam and home-grown sunflowers. The property has woodland walks from the doorstep and is ideally placed to explore Lincolnshire. The facilities for our dog were also second to none with bowls, treats and his own shower and towels. The garden is wild, no lawn, but already attracting butterflies and birds. Altogether a great holiday in a great location.
