  • "Not a fan of zipped-up mattresses to form one big bed - we found the join somewhat intrusive."

Some parts of the bungalow were looking a bit 'tired'. For example, the seals on the dining room window overlooking the garden were coming off in places, and the television table had clearly been altered, leaving bare chipboard visible. None of this affected our holiday, but was not aesthetically pleasing. Otherwise, the accommodation was satisfactory.

  • "Facilities a 5 star."

Very comfortable and very well equipped. Great sleep and shower. 3 piece very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Maintenance not. Front and kitchen back doors were difficult to close. Several of the slabs on the drive were loose and I got wet muddy trousers.

Thank you for your very positive comments about your comfortable stay at our holiday bungalow, we are pleased that you found the property clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the heavy rain in recent weeks had caused a couple of the large front slabs to move, this was only noticed the day prior to your arrival and has subsequently been sorted. We are sorry this adversely affected your stay. Property Owner

  • "Overall good."

Would suggest a new fridge/freezer as veg tray missing and lets kitchen down. Dryer function of washing machine appeared to not work. Checked instructions but did not make a difference 5 minutes from beach which is wonderful. Went off season so could let dog off on beach. In a nice quiet street.

Thank you for these useful comments about your stay at our holiday bungalow. We were unaware that the dryer function of the washer dryer was not working as the machine is relatively new, having only been replaced in the spring, our apologies. The property is indeed in a lovely quiet location, and visiting at this time of the year does allow owners to give their dogs the full freedom of the beautiful sandy beach. Property Owner

  • "Dawn couldn't have been more helpful."

The house was really clean which is impressive considering dogs had only just been in the week or two before. The location was fantastic and we loved the welcome at the Fat Seagull! The property was just what we needed for our stay. The sofas were great but by the end of the 2nd week, the big (which is a sofa bed) was a little uncomfortable. The super king bed was relatively comfy but the divan needs replacing as it is very creaky and woke me and my husband up a lot. The other thing was the light that comes into that room, although lovely it needs some sort of blackout attached to the current curtains as it woke us early every day. This wouldn’t put me off recommending this place though. Our daughter loved the single bed(s) she found them very comfy and the garden at the property is lovely. As others have said the welcome package was a lovely touch and very considerate. All in all, we had a really lovely stay and feel lucky to have visited such a beautiful part of the country, the beaches are amazing. Thank you again.

Great for walks along the beach, high street and shops a short distance away and the Fat Seagull cafe/bistro just round the corner. Only thing that was problem was cleanliness of kitchen utensils, pots and pans. Otherwise great place to stay.

  • "Lovely area close to beach and fat seagull which is a lovely cafe/bar/gift shop."

Bungalow is a good size, there was only 2 of us and a dog. Garden was good size and we went for long walks each day, Sutton on Sea, Mablethorpe, Chapel St Leonard. The bungalow could do with a bit of TLC decor wise but for a week away it was fine just a but of updating needed.

Thank you for your lovely review of our holiday bungalow. Sandilands is a very quiet, peaceful location and we are fortunate to have such kind thoughtful neighbours. We are pleased that you had such a pleasant relaxing stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable stay with great weather, there were comfortable cushions for the deck chairs, the garden nice and secure for our dog."

The dishwasher and washing machine were a real bonus for us to relax and enjoy holiday. Lovely next door neighbours. I walked with puppy down to beach every morning and evening, the local people are so lovely and Friendly. We used Waldo fish n chip shop reasonably priced and excellent. The beach is clean and quiet, good for fishing, Rog enjoyed that. The only thing was egg cups missing or I never looked properly. Booked again for next year.

We are delighted that you had such a lovely holiday in our seaside bungalow in Sandilands, and have decided to return again next year. You were indeed very lucky with the weather, and it was great that you were able to make daily visits to the beautiful beach and promenade nearby with your puppy. There should have been egg cups, but they were possibly tucked right at the back of the cupboard. Thank you also for the lovely comments that you left about our housekeeper in the visitor's book. • "We had a lovely holiday and had no complaints, everything was clean and was as expected."

We have recommended it to friends and will probably return. It is especially good for dogs with a very safe enclosed back garden. My only suggestion is that a better router for Wi-Fi is needed it is good in the house but does not reach the back garden.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such a positive review about our holiday property. Sandilands is an ideal location, for those wishing to holiday with their pets, as there are so many beautiful walks along the coast as well as in the neighbouring countryside. • "A very nice bungalow in a lovely quiet residential area."

Easy access to many places and less than 10 minutes walk to the beach. Previous review states that the sofa was uncomfortable but we didn't find this to be the case. We did agree that the mattresses on the single beds were very uncomfortable though. However, the housekeeper informed us that new mattresses have been ordered. The beds themselves, obviously previously bunk beds, are standard 3ft singles, so perfectly adequate for adult use. The two main issues are the shower, which is pretty hopeless due to low pressure and ran cold after just a few seconds. There was also a bad smell of damp in the dining room extension. We did report this to the housekeeper.

  • "The location of the property was fantastic for the beach, the lovely local cafe, and walks."

It was very quiet and peaceful. After seeing previous reviews of spotless cleanliness, we were disappointed with the lack of cleanliness. For example: a number of dishes and cups were not clean, the rugs in both bedrooms and the living room were heavily covered in pet hair, and the furniture upholstery in the living room was very dusty. Regarding making the property more comfortable, it would be great to have non-slip mats for the bedroom rugs on the wooden floors as we slipped on them when walking over them, to have pillows that are not so flat, and to replace the mattresses on the twin single beds as they felt very uncomfortable and worn out.

We are glad that you enjoyed the beautiful location that is Sandilands, but are sorry to read some of your negative comments about the standard of cleanliness and comfort at our holiday bungalow. These are completely at odds with all the previous reviews and somewhat confusing. We have a very diligent team of cleaners who take great pride in their work and are disappointed that on this occasion they did not appear to meet your expectations. Property Owner

Welcome pack was the best I had seen. Spotlessly clean, compliments to the housekeeper. Only snag a fence panel was down in the garden which meant putting the dog on the lead before letting her out. Grass had just been cut so someone was aware. Saying that I would still highly recommend the property.

The bungalow is in a good location for a short walk to the beach. The bungalow is well equipped, warm and comfortable. Loved the welcome basket of goodies and milk in the fridge. Really nice secure garden for my dog. We were really lucky with the weather for this time of year, the sun warms up the bungalow in the mornings with it shining into the living room. It was lovely. • "I went here for the second part of my festive holiday away and I absolutely loved this place."

It reminded me of going to my Grandmas with the delicate colour scheme and Chintz-type curtains. It just felt so homely. The sat nav took me straight there so no issue finding the bungalow. Everything you need is here and if you have dogs the garden is fab and the beach is very close by. The bungalow is fully enclosed by a 4 foot high fence; just make sure the gate is shut round the side. The lady whose phone number I had was very responsive and helpful. I felt that I could live there so I have given full marks. I couldn't fault the place.

Thank you so much for your very positive feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Acre View over New Year and were able to enjoy the beautiful beach close by. Property Owner
