  • "Dorado Lodge is an excellent property on a well designed and maintained site."

It was perfectly comfortable for our family gathering of six people and fortunately we had good weather and were able to spend time relaxing outside as well as inside. The hot tub was a super feature to enjoy during our time here. The only item we found to be faulty was the smaller (top) oven, which functioned but produced no heat. The site is really conveniently situated for exploring Lincoln, Newark, Southwell and the whole area. The local Whisby Nature Reserve is excellent and we enjoyed the Railway Inn too. Thanks for a great stay.

The lodge is perfect - clean, spacious and bright, with great views. It's well equipped, and with really thoughtful touches, such as bath robes in the rooms. The hot tub is a brilliant addition. The location is lovely: a few miles from Lincoln, and very close to a nature reserve with nice walks and cafes. Highly recommended!

  • "Great site with a good fishing lake opposite the lodge doors."

The lodge was very big and spacious. It is a strange set up that would not suit everyone. Upstairs is a large double bedroom but open plan no walls to separate it off from the kitchen / lounge down stairs. The other double bedroom is also very big but for some reason has full glass doors into it from the hallway. This seems a very odd set up and could easily be changed to suit everyone booking the lodge. The other odd set up was no dinning table? You have a massive kitchen and large breakfast bar with some stools but no table? If like us you like to sit around a table not in a line eating. With those couple of odd issues aside the lodge was great and I would book again. The location was fine and only 10 mins drive to Lincoln. The local nature reserve was great to walk around and have a coffee.

The Lodge is so comfortable and beautifully designed. The hot tub was used by all of us daily and beautifully maintained by Justin. The outlook is gorgeous and the boys loved the fishing. We had a very relaxing week and will certainly come back.

The fishing was exceptional we must have picked the right week to stay, all shops and eateries are very close by and Lincoln and Skegness are only a short drive away the air museum is a great place to visit for a morning or afternoon out.

Hot tub was used every day of stay and worked as good on last night as the first (watch out for falling acorns) Id recomend bringing eye masks for whoevers sleeping in the master bedroom at the top of the lodge as light floods the room from the large windows at the front of the lodge. The bed in the master suite was huge! However the mattress could do with being replaced or looked at as its sunken on the side nearest the bathroom. Overall a beautiful lodge and relaxing stay.

  • "The lodge is set in beautiful surroundings and we had such an amazing family holiday, so tranquil and peaceful."

Beautifully cleaned throughout and could not fault in any way, shows the cleaners take pride in their work and it is very much appreciated, The fishing was brilliant as the lake is very well stocked and the swim was on the doorstep. The hot tub is fabulous and Justin checks it every day to ensure it is the right temperature and clean throughout - thank you Justin. The only thing missing would be a TV in the 2 downstairs bedrooms as the main upstairs bedroom is open plan and would have been the icing on the cake. The barrier system is genius as allowed us to let in food deliveries, including Tescos and take outs. Thank you very much.

  • "Excellent lodge and facilities."

Quiet location right on the edge of a small lake. However not easy to locate on arrival as no map at the entrance to the site and we had to walk all the way round to find the lodge, to get the dongle to get our car on site....which then did not work! We then found out that the barrier automatically lifted when the phone number provided was rung. This would have saved us a lot of walking and frustration. In addition, the lodge is advertised with Sykes who we had horrendous problems with during lockdown. This time we were pleasantly surprised but I would not use Sykes again if possible.

  • "What an absolutely gorgeous lodge."

Myself and two friends stayed for 5 nights at Dorado Lodge and had the most wonderful, relaxing stay. There are 2 huge double bedrooms, both with ensuits, and a large twin room; the beds are so comfotable and plenty of hanging and drawer space. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you would need for your stay and the lounge area has a wall mounted TV with sky and netflix etc. The outdoor area is incredibly peaceful and around the corner tucked away is the hottub which was a great addition to the stay and we used it most evenings. Giles, the host, was incredibly helpful and kind throughout our stay (via email) and offered suggestions of places to visit and help when needed. There are a few lodges in this area but you didn't feel like you had any neighbours, I would absolutely love to come back to Dorado Lodge for another peaceful stay. Thank you so much!
