Great place to explore the Lincolnshire wolds was just what we wanted

Stayed at this beautiful little cottage for 5 nights in June and had an absolutely amazing time.

The cottage was gorgeous and up there with some of the best places we,ve ever stayed. The area was really peaceful and a short walk over the fields to the stunning Tealby, the thatched pub is a must! This cottage was a perfect base to visit other places too. Louth was also beautiful. Annette was wonderful,really responsive with texts and lock box was really handy for checking in too. This cottage has all you need to make meals/drinks. The welcome treats and the butter and milk were so thoughtful and greatly appreciated. The plum loaf did not last long! We also spent quite a bit of time on the cared for garden also perfect for our dog with beautiful seating areas. We will definitely stay here again,would not hesitate. Thank you!

Fabulous little cottage, everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The garden is lovely to sit and enjoy. The owner was lovely, and goes above and beyond to make your stay special. We will definitely be returning.

Small but perfectly formed.

This small cottage had everything provided. The gardens were lovely and the location was good for exploring the countryside. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had all we needed for meals.

It has everything that you need to make your stay enjoyable. All amenities are cared for from a comfortable bed to a lovely log burner. Our host Annette was lovely and made sure we had all the information from checking in to departing. We will be returning. Ps the welcome pack was a welcome addition.

It may be small but has everything one might need and very clean and comfortable. The owners are friendly and welcoming too, we will remember this cottage for next time we are in Lincolnshire!

This is a lovely small cottage, very clean and it is amazing how it seems to contain everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Spoke to Annette (the owner) on the phone to arrange for the key collection, very friendly and helpful. Delighted with the welcome pack of groceries, lovely to have a slice of local plum loaf with a cuppa upon arrival. Great location, lots of local walks and only a few miles from the local train station. Nice thatched pub in Tealby for a pint and a bite to eat not far away. Really enjoyed my stay here.

Friendly owner - lovely bijou cottage - tall people please mind your head - in the Lincolnshire wolds easy walk over the fields to the oldest thatched pub in Lincolnshire which serves really good food (and beer!

). Lovely place to stay for a few days easy access to lots of towns, villages and the seaside, enough said.

What a perfect little place to stay!

!!! We’ve just spent 3 nights here for the August Bank Holiday, traveled up from Kent to visit family in Market Rasen. It couldn’t have been in a better location for us, as we were less than 10 minute drive to there. We arrived in the dark and did struggle a bit to find it, due to some roadworks being done, but Annette came out to find us…we were literally right in front of the place! Once inside, we were totally taken with the place. Despite it’s size, it had everything we needed and we felt very at home here. The place was spotlessly clean, with big fluffy towels and lovely fresh smelling bed linen! To top it all, we’d been left a cute little hamper, with fresh bread and a Lincolnshire Plum Loaf (very tasty), tea coffee & sugar and also butter and milk in the fridge. Thanks for making our stay so welcoming. We will be back in the new year, when we come to visit our family again.

Nice well equipped small property an nicely maintained

The quaint and charming cottage was warm, comfortable and set in our favourite part of Lincolnshire... the wolds. Ideal for walks, visiting nearby market towns, pretty villages and other places of interest. Highly recommended.

Myself and my faithful furry friend have had a wonderful week at this lovely clean comfortable cozy cottage, very friendly owners ,we have walked many many miles in this beautiful part of the UK , I will return for another time in the near future, the only slight problem with the cottage is the traffic noise from the A631 passing the property,a pair of earplugs would soon sort that problem if a lay in is wanted

The cottage is fine for two people as it has everything that is needed.

It is small but quaint and has everything required for a short stay.Most appreciated the small wood burner that supplemented the heating in the cold weather.

The owners have managed to fit everything you could possibly need into this lovely little space, and made it a wonderful place to stay.

Lovely little cottage which was just right for the two of us (and dog) for our week long break in Lincolnshire.

The cottage was very well equipped, with seemingly all avenues catered for. Although quite small, the cottage was very cosy and easy to keep warm with gas heating and the little wood burning stove. The owners were very friendly and helpful. All in all an excellent base from which to explore the area.

I stopped in Old Blacksmith's Cottage for a week with my dog and it was absolutely lovely.

It had everything we needed for a memorable stay and I don't hesitate in recommending it.

What a wonderful cottage, excellent in every sense.

We especially loved sitting out in the spacious garden and having our meals there, and learning more about the history of the building from the friendly and helpful owners. Wonderful for a summer visit, but it would also be lovely and cozy in cooler seasons. We definitely hope to be back!

Loved walking my dog, Charlie in the woods near by . For some road can be a bit busy, didn’t bother me . Was lovely to just sit in the garden and chill off an evening after a day walking. It’s a lovely area and would like to return. Comfy bed slept well. Thank you.

We had a warm welcome from the owners to a lovely cottage.

The surrounding area was terrific with forest walks less than a mile away. The most rested and relaxed we've been in a long time.

Lovely cottage.

All very good. Nice welcome with fresh bread, fruit loaf, butter, milk. Tea and coffee. Annette welcomed us explaining about the key safe and other matters. Helpfully, agreeing we could park in front of the cottage but be very careful due to the sharp bend. I got my wife to stand across the road to check.

Outstanding

This is a delightfully small but cosy and appropriately equipped cottage suitable for a few days away.

In addition to the central heating, there is a log burner, for which logs are supplied, which all makes for a comfy night in on a chilly evening. If you're a walker, there are plenty of suitable footpaths and lanes to wander and explore. The generally flat terrain makes the going easy. All in all a very pleasant and delightful few days away.

Lovely host, great cottage in great location. Every detail has been thought of. Lovely log burner with logs provided. Lots of treats left for you to enjoy. I’m sure we’ll be back again. We have stayed at many cottages with Sykes and this is one of our favourites! Thanks Annette :)

It’s cozy size actually enhanced our stay! Location convenient for both city (Lincoln) and coast. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Quaint cottage, got warm and cosy when the fire lit.

Compact but it had everything we needed - even managed to cook a Sunday roast! A lot of traffic noise as busy main road the other side of hedge at front of property. It would have been good to know about parking further away from property before we booked, but agree it would be dangerous to try and pull out on the corner behind the hedge. Nice place for a short stay, lovely welcome pack and hosts very friendly. Nice independent shops locally.

Sweet little cottage.

Ideal for 1 or 2 people and a dog. Very friendly helpful owners. Information book very clear and informative. Very convenient base for exploring the local area with lots of walks for the dog!

The Old Blacksmiths cottage was a delightful and well equipped retreat for us and our dog.

Extremely clean on arrival and despite being a small space, it was very well designed and equipped. We even managed to make a full roast dinner! Annette and Steve were very welcoming hosts, providing us with a lovely food hamper including delicious Lincolnshire plum loaf. Unfortunately, the weather on our trip meant that we couldn't spend time in the beautiful garden specifically for the cottage. But we were very cosy, inside. Highly recommended!

The cottage was very charming, welcoming, comfy, clean, very well equipped.

Everyone was friendly and helpful when we asked about places to visit and walks within the area. Would definitely recommend this little gem.

Cosy cottage in a very nice setting, very comfortable bed, cottage well placed for visiting the whole of Lincolnshire wether that be towns or coast,also ideal for our antique hunt,walks close by if you take a four legged friend, we would definitely book again if going to the area.

Wonderfully cosy.

Annette and Steve have thought of everything you might need for the stay, and provided it. Particularly nice for me to stay in, as my Grandad was a blacksmith. Lovely to be able to take the dog for a walk without having to get into the car first. Highly recommended.

everything was perfect

Sadly the ice cream parlour in the village wasn't open during my stay (over Christmas) but other than that I had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely cottage.

We spent a most enjoyable week in this compact yet very cosy cottage.

Spotlessly clean and containing everything you could possibly require. Our enjoyment was enhanced by the generosity, (a wonderful welcoming pack was provided) friendliness and helpfulness of the owners.

The cottage was perfect - compact, yes, but very cosy and equipped with everything that was necessary.

The owner provided a delicious loaf of Lincolnshire Plum bread and some Lincolnshire cheese - a lovely touch (and some doggy treats too!). The woodburning stove took a while to get going - probably first use of the season - but made the cottage very warm. Absolutely no complaints!

Despite being quite small, the property was thoughtfully designed and had everything we needed for a short break.

It was very clean and we found the bed very comfortable. The welcome hamper of essential groceries and local treats was very generous, and much appreciated, and the walk leaflets and maps were very helpful. Only downside, was the proximity to the main road, but we only found it noisy at rush hour and not at all during the night.

The owners had tried to think of everything you might need for your stay, and gone even further with lots of little touches. Just lovely !!

This is a lovely cottage, perfect for 2 and a dog, romantic, well-equipped, thoughtfully laid out, with everything you need for a short stay.

The hosts very generously laid out teas, coffee and a hamper with local goodies. The house was very clean, the towels gorgeously fluffy, the heating up or down at the touch of a button. Annette and Steve had also thought of little details such as a vase of wildflowers. The wifi was good - we held two video calls at the same time. The surroundings were breathtaking. Our walk up the hill behind the cottage was amazing every morning. All in all, an excellent holiday. And to add to all of that, the hosts posted our (unneeded!) woolly hats which we'd left behind! Just brilliant!

My husband and I loved our stay at this charming cottage, as did our dog!

We spent some nights at home with the wood burner and a home cooked dinner and some nights out trying one of the many local restaurants. The cottage has everything we needed and to owners were very welcoming and attentive. It was amazingly clean and well kept. Our dog enjoyed walks at the local woods and we all enjoyed visiting Lincoln and the local towns. We most definitely will stay again! Thank you so much for having us!

Me and my boyfriend booked this cottage for a little valentine’s day get away and we had such a great time, the owners are so lovely and provide a lot in the cottage for the stay.

We highly recommend for anyone else who is looking for a relaxing and quiet cottage.
