Ashfield Studio

On arrival we met Martin and confirmed we was at the correct place, his wife Denise was just finishing final presentation.

The studio is really nice , everything we needed was there . The grounds and gardens are lovely, our dogs loved them, we walked round them with Denise a couple of times and we took the dogs round every day. The bed we found really comfy and slept very well, there is plenty of wildlife around and when sitting quietly around the grounds you get to see all kinds . The shower was great and plenty of hot water . We loved sitting in the studio enclosed garden in the afternoon and evening sun with our dogs sniffing every bit of grass and all the trees . Our only niggle was the fridge constantly running and at night it was a little irritating. Overall we loved it . A big thank you to Martin and Denise for making us so welcome.

Wonderful place, so peaceful with only the bird's to hear, beautiful garden and so big the dog didn't need a walk after sniffing his way around it, he loved it.

Also must mention the cafe next door that was very handy for breakfast, lovely place and wouldn't hesitate to visit again

Adequate for our needs

I had a wonderful stay at Ashfield Studio.

It’s set in picturesque grounds with idyllic scenery, especially in spring time with flowers blooming. The owners are very kind and friendly and leave you to enjoy your stay in peace. The studio is immaculately cleaned ahead of bookings. It’s massively spacious with upstairs bedroom and downstairs living area, kitchen and bathroom. The bed is really comfortable and like home away from home. Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and cooking options for short or longer stays. The grounds contain huge amounts of garden and grass to relax and enjoy in touching distance along with local woodlands but there’s also good connections to go further afield to Market Rasen centre and Lincoln or if you want to go out to the East Coast and visit Cleethorpes too. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again as a reflection of how much I enjoyed my stay.

Lovely property, extremely well equipped, very clean … garden is truly enclosed so my little dog was safe.

Hosts friendly and helpful. Very into recycling and environmentally aware. Stairs a bit of a battle … would be the one reason I wouldn’t go back but that is because of balance problems related to my own health … stairs are open plan and a spiral shape. Well positioned for exploring Lincolnshire countryside. We (my little dog and I) had a great week there … in the Summer and sunshine it would be a phenomenal property (and I’ve been self catering holidaying all of my 69 years) Thank you to our hosts for allowing to use Ashfield Studio.

A beautiful quiet cottage, with everything you could need and more.

I stayed for 2 weeks and can't fault anything

We had a lovely few days away, mainly to escape firework noise for our dogs.

Ashfield studio is in a quiet rural area but not far from local shops and is handy for travel to other places. The dogs enjoyed the enclosed garden and walks near by. The studio is well equipped in the kitchen and there are a selection of games and dvd’s in the living room. The reclining sofa was comfortable as was the bed upstairs. The owners made us feel welcome and it was lovely that the owners and the studio run in an environment friendly way. I would recommend to a couple with dogs looking for a quiet getaway. We hope to return again in the future.

There was nothing 'fundamentally wrong' with the property - just there are many more that offer greater warmth of welcome, facilities and comfort (ie no Welcome Pack or little extras like doggy treats) which other places offer as standard.

Lovely little cottage with everything you need.

Bed was very hard with lumpy pillows. Never met the hosts apart from a brief greeting on arrival who just directed us to the parking area. No control over the heating as all controlled from the main house. Boiler breakdown on day 2 and note pinned to the door to tell us. Fan heater provided and heating fixed promptly the next day. Lovely area to stay. Beautiful grounds.

Their are some lovely walks within a two minute walk from the property and also the owners allow you to use their very large garden. Their are lots of things to see and do within an hours drive. The owners denise and martin are absolutely lovely people, not at all intrusive.Would we stay at ashfield studio again,We most certainly would.

A delightful annex in a peaceful setting.

The bed and all the furniture were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need. The owners are friendly and helpful with excellent local knowledge. We had two dogs and the annexes garden was a hedge and a wire mesh fence and is totally secure. On the other side of the road is a wood that is brilliant for dog walking. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable week and we would definitely stay there again.

It’s a fantastic cottage and have been going for a while.

The property is very comfortable and well equipped. The gardens are beautiful. The property is in a great location for exploring North Lincolnshire.

We had a great stay here over Easter.

The cottage is clean, comfortable and warm. Set in a beautiful large garden. Within this, the cottage has its own enclosed safe garden for dogs. The woods are less than a five minute walk across the main road. We walked on a lovely route to Market Rasen via the Osgodby and Usselby plantations. The owners are friendly, kind people but not intrusive. We would definitely like to stay at the cottage again. Its a great base for exploring the Wolds.

I had a great stay at Ashfield Studio.

It was very warm and had everything I needed. The woods opposite meant I could stretch my legs and would be great for anyone with a dog. The road outside gets busy at peak times, but when you’re on holiday that shouldn’t affect your plans. The studio was a good base to explore the Wolds and I found some great walks not too far away. I would recommend.

The studio is beautiful, clean, spacious, warm and well equipped. There are plenty of books and jigsaws in the studio if you fancy. The studio garden is secure and offers lots of sniffing opportunities for the dogs. The location was brilliant with a huge, quiet, dog friendly beach 40 minutes drive away and access to beautiful "wold" walks much closer. The woods opposite the property are vast and great for walking. We had a fabulous holiday here and very much hope to return.

Not the plushest place I have stayed at but can't complain for the money - it represented great VFM.

Downstairs bathroom not ideal (especially via the spiral staircase!) but was aware of this in advance. The secure attached garden was perfect for my dog and the use of the larger owners' grounds an absolute bonus. Dog walking in the woods right opposite the driveway ideal too. Only 5 mins drive into Market Rasen and also well placed for Lincoln itself, the Wolds and the coast.

Would recommend to anyone who wants to get away for some quiet time and, with its close proximity to local woods, anyone who enjoys walks and nature. Lincoln and Mablethorpe within striking distance too.

Lovely, well decorated and comfortable cottage in a quiet area on the outskirts of Market Rasen.

Our dog loved being able to walk in the gardens, which are big and well kept. There was also a gated, secure garden area for our dog to run around in. Friendly owners who communicated prior to our visit, giving good directions. We would stay here again.

Nicely set out,well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Quiet location, but easy to get into the Lincolnshire wolds. Not far to Market Rasen train station, and simple to reach Lincoln or Grimsby. Also around an hour from Skegness in the car.

It was lovely exploring an area we hadn’t visited before with its woodland walks and quaint villages along the Viking Way. The Wolds Edge farm shop was a bonus. Easy to find and a fab location.

Studio has absolutely everything you need but wasn't very clean at all Previous guests body hair in the shower (quite a few) washing up bowl was encrusted with food, skirting boards look like they haven't seen a cloth for months along with other surfaces and the mirror in the bedroom was "cloudy". Outside the entrance door moss and dirt, so that needs a huge clean up Owners expect you to leave it as you found it ! We left it cleaner !

Ashfield Studio gave us the perfect place for a quite and relaxing break.

The cottage and gardens are beautiful, and the cafe close by provided a good proper breakfast available for takeaway. Would happily visit again

Our hosts made us very welcome and were there if we needed anything during our stay. The facilities were excellent, everything we would need in the kitchen and nice little touches in other room's to make our stay warm and comfortable. Lovely personal garden that is perfectly safe and dog friendly. There are longer walks around the fields and orchard and a lovely walk over the road through the woods. The spiral staircase is also perfectly safe and a gorgeous feature. Teddy and I agree, well certainly be back.

We had a lovely two week stay in a rural location in a studio attached to the owners house.

The gardens are large with a wood across the road with lots of walks to take the dog on. Plenty of wildlife to see and Market Rasen is just 5 minutes in the car.

We had a great stay in this well supplied cottage.

The bedroom was lovely and the garden area was perfect for a pet. The only downside was the incredibly slow speed of the broadband so streaming was painful.

Lovely birdlife and rabbits in the garden.

The property is ideally located for touring around (in my opinion, the best parts) a wide area of Lincolnshire.

Despite being on a main road, it is very quiet; Even the dog kennel (fairly mentioned in the listing) was barely noticed! The property is well equipped, with a nice enough amount of character to distinguish it from the usual 'homes'. The enclosed area was ideal for the dog (although the PIR light was a little random) and for a 'very quick walk', the main garden is big enough to stretch the legs :) Inside was comfortable, with good lighting (both from window & lights). The Biomass boiler provides plenty output for the radiators - Even in December! The owner was happy to detail about the Biomass, which was fabulously interesting; also having a booklet in the welcome pack, detailing the 'eco-waste' system (albeit being a little discerning when considering products to use). However, it appears the heating goes off around 11pm, not to come back on until around 7am. Logical to some, but not what I expect on a 'holiday'. Although I heard little from the neighbouring property, one can hear the main house's bathroom (I suspect) on occasion, as well as some weird clonks (I think was the heating system). The only thing that did put me off returning was the housekeeping. Whilst everything appears in place, there seems little evidence of an actual 'professional' cleaning taking place between occupants. I actually left it cleaner than it was from the start, including the bathroom sink & fridge! Finally, a few more 'consumables', such as cooking oils etc would be nice; but a grey area since Covid...

I had a really lovely 2 days here the area is so peaceful and not too far from pubs, shops etc.

Despite stormy and blustery weather, we were cosy in the welcoming accommodation, and had everything we needed. The enclosed garden area and extensive rural grounds were perfect for our spaniel. We loved the vaulted bedroom and comfy bed, the well-equipped kitchen diner and lounge. The heating was just right. My only concern is the spiral staircase, which I slipped down wearing socks - the steps are very slippery. Otherwise really relaxing. Highly recommend a trip into Lincoln and also Hemswell Antiques Centre.

Everything you could possibly need or want in there. The photos don't do it justice. Surrounded by woodland and very peaceful. Ideal for a getaway with a dog. Only a 10 minute drive into Market Rasen and 40 mins to the beach. Would definitely return.

Easy distance to explore Lincoln and surrounds. Very comfortable bed up spiral staircase. Safe and private garden for the dog. Owner in adjoining property friendly and helpful but not intrusive.

Slight niggle of intermittent Wifi but otherwise great holiday. Go here if you love nature. Also highly recommended the chocolate shop “special edition” by the woods on the opposite end of Market Rasen.

A lovely comfortable studio, well appointed and in an excellent location to explore the delights of Lincolnshire and the Wolds.

The coast is close by with some very beautiful and quiet stretches of sandy beach. We really enjoyed our holiday.

Peaceful, green location. Well located for visiting the area. The studio is extremely spacious, clean, tidy and very well equipped. We experienced sunshine most days and so the garden was a bonus. Denise and Martin very welcoming hosts, though not at all intrusive. We felt as if we could just come and go as we pleased and were able to treat the place as home.

Very nice hosts, let us get on without any intrusion, but also very approachable had we needed.

The driveway is easily missed but once you know where it is it’s easy. Do not be put off by the kennel next door, we wouldn’t have known it existed had we not read it on the website. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing, well worth a wander.

Lots of nice local walks, lovely day in Lincoln and plenty of places to enjoy on the coast. The studio is spacious, clean and well-equipped with a lovely garden, including a smaller fenced off section ideal for the dog. The narrow spiral staircase may be a challenge for some but, overall, would highly recommend.

Great hosts. Only downside the steep spiral stairs and downstairs bathroom which was mentioned in the description and we overcame by leaving on a downstairs light so as not to wake each other trying to find the light switch in an unfamiliar place.. Not a problem if you are younger., Very private even though it is an annexe. We would go again..

We had a fantastic week the cottage was excellent and was what we needed.

Sykes cottages informed me there wasn't any iron or ironing board at the lovely property, however the owners kindly informed me that there was an iron & ironing board available.

There is also a hair dryer which is not listed in the property listing plus a mobile fan heater/cooler.

Place is done very nicely. Owners are fantastic! The Internet is not very good, but the owner straight away gave me and ethernet cable to try. This gave me enough to get my paperwork and emails done in the evenings. Excellent accommodation once again from sykes.

We have had a lovely stay in the most comfortably accomodation ,everything is provided and clean.

The staircase is easily manageable up to the enormous bedroom,linen is beautiful. A well equipped kitchen &comfortable living room. The owners gardens are full of colour and wildlife. Overall we had a wonderful stay & would highly recommend it. The only negative points I would make is that the property is not at the edge of a village and the local pub has long since closed down.

The owners were very nice, available if needed but unobtrusive if not.

Everything we needed was there. It was a cold week but property was always very warm and cosy. However, if there are mobility issues be aware of narrow spiral staircase.
