  • "The cottage where we stayed was absolutely beautiful - the photos really did not do it justice."

It was superbly clean and cosy, ideal for the big group of us and our 3 dogs. Not to mention that the owners went above and beyond to help us when my car broke down on the first day! We accidentally left a few bits behind and they sent it straight to us. The owners and their 3 collies are a delight and we enjoyed getting to meet their dogs too! The hot tub was cleaned every morning for us and each bedroom/bathroom was stunning. Our needs were catered for perfectly too, especially considering we also had two babies with us. We would happily stay here again, hopefully next time with a more reliable car to take us home! When we return to Wales we would definitely seek to stay in this property again. There were lots of walking trails and sights nearby, and plenty of excursions only a short drive away. My only advice would be to bring as much food with you as you can, as the nearest supermarkets are about a 30 minute drive away. Thanks again for a perfect holiday, it was our first time in Wales and we will definitely be back!

The hosts are brilliant we went with the whole extended family including 2 young children. One which loves tractors so the farmer took him out on the tractor to go feed the sheep it’s something which is over and above. The facilities within the barn are great from the kitchen appliances to the space within the living areas and also the bedrooms. Would definitely recommend and also return.

Mr and Mrs Jones we’re fantastic hosts and we’re available if needed and had really thought through there holiday rental. I’ve never visited a holiday rental where everything just worked we all genuinely couldn’t find a negative. The setting is idyllic with some amazing walks and views. Wasn't able to use the hot tub due to this. Had to cook and boil water on the fire in the back room. Not a good experience at all

We are sorry that Storm Arwen caused unprecedented and widespread power cuts across the UK to millions of people, including most of North Wales, during your visit. We worked hard to ensure you had enough fuel for both log burners (including the wood-powered stove in the snug), a generator supplying electricity as soon as we realised the power was off on Saturday morning (albeit like most generators, it is not powerful enough to heat a large body of water like a hot tub which, you did not mention, was fine and in full use on Friday evening) and cooked your party a large meal on the Saturday evening with very little thanks from your party. The area was stunning, the cottage is extremely spacious and has excellent facilities on offer. The hot tub was brand new prior to our arrival and was a must at the end of each day beneath the stars looking out at the valley. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and made excellent recommendations during our entire stay. The walk out of the house and up to the reservoir was beautiful and a perfect morning walk for our two spaniels - watch out for all the pheasants! While they do tell you you are on a working farm, it may need to be made clearer that you are in the hub of the working farm with the farmers house, working dog kennels and equipment around you. While this wasn’t an issue during our stay as we quite liked to see the ongoing work, it was a bit of a surprise to us as the listing did make it seem as if we were in a more remote location.

On arrival the house was spotlessly clean, beds really comfortable with high quality bedlinen and large soft towels. We were late and had arranged an Asda food delivery but our hosts had taken this in for us and packed away all the chilled items in the fridge. The house is even bigger than it looks in the pictures and is a stunning barn conversion. Everything you could possibly need is provided in the kitchen and the hot tub was fantastic and well appreciated by all of us. Mr and Mrs Jones were extremely friendly and helpful, the house is situated on a working farm so you are not completely isolated but also at the top of a big hill so there are stunning views. Downstairs is so spacious - at one end of the building is a lovely snug area that easily seated 8 people and had a log burner which heated the whole of the downstairs. The large kitchen was fully equipped with everything for cooking meals and the large table seated all of us for breakfasts. At the other end of the building is the fantastic living room/dining room with 3 large settees and 2 chairs so plenty of space for everyone. The dining table was great for gathering around for our evening meal. Upstairs the 5 bedrooms were more than adequate for our group - 2 were ensuite and the main bathroom had a lovely roll top bath and large walk in shower. The barn is located in a very remote area at the end of a 2 mile single track lane. This suited us perfectly as it was lovely to get away from everything and be surrounded by beautiful countryside. The views were stunning and it was great to sit in the hot tub and and look across at the hills and relax.
