  • "Nice stay, lots of space and great facilities."

Bed was comfortable and property was very clean. Only faults I can say is that there were lots of flies outside so didn’t use the hot tub and the amount of pool balls weren’t correct. Other than that very happy and would stay again.

  • "The location was lovely and for that reason we would go again."

There was no signpost at the entrance like we were told and also it wasn’t a gated driveway like we were told so struggled to find it. The dart board had holes in it, we didn’t have a full set of pool balls. The bathroom light went on our first stay which was no one’s fault however we messaged the owner and didn’t even get a reply let alone someone round to fix it. We also couldn’t find any walks from the building nor could we get the living room fire to work and the beds were uncomfortable

We appreciate your feedback. We have now changed the dart board and have purchased new beds for the bungalow. Thank you Property Owner

  • "This is the second time we have stayed here."

The bungalow and surrounding area are gorgeous. The hot tub is amazing although very hot to begin with so we kept it at 34 degrees. The bungalow is very spacious with a great games room. Although the dart board needs replacing. The mattress’s on all 3 beds are very uncomfortable with the biggest bed being the worst. We wouldn’t stay here again until these have been changed as it made my hip sore by the end of the week. The shower tray is cracked and water started coming out underneath so could do with replacing. It just needs a few things sorting for it to be perfect.

  • "We loved our stay - amazing views, left to our own devices and great heating."

The bungalow was spotless and had everything you needed. The only reason we can’t quite give 5 stars is because the beds were so uncomfortable - hard and really need replacing. Other than that it was perfect & we’ve already booked to return (with an air bed though) , thank you for a wonderful holiday.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely week away here."

The bungalow was in great location. Our boys loved the pool table and we enjoyed the hot tub, just a shame no lighting outside as it was hard to see. Lovely and warm bungalow and large kitchen, does need a few more essentials like baking tray but we managed perfectly. I would love to stay here again and yes I would recommend to my friends. Thank you.

  • "We loved the bungalow, it’s very well equipped and the games room is an added benefit."

The only bad points were the mattresses need replacing as the are knackered and quite uncomfortable. The water can be a bit of a pain as it doesn’t always work. When the water pressure dropped it caused problems with the toilet and the boiler. Overall we had a great time and would stay again

  • "The only thing that wasn’t perfect is we think the temperature reading on the hot tub was inaccurate."

It was extremely hot even after turning it down and it reading 37.4 degrees. The hot tub at Glanyrafon house was far more comfortable at a higher temperature reading than the one at Glanyrafon bungalow.

The layout was great, the hot tub was great with great views, the games room was well used by the whole family, perfect for my dog as the front garden is well fenced off. Will be going back for another week as soon as we can.

  • "A lovely spacious bungalow in a secluded setting."

Owners were very helpful and friendly. The only negative is that the pub 1.4 miles away closed down 8 years ago and it's more like 3 miles with a significant uphill and down hill walk. If you want to get away from it all this is highly recommended.

  • "This is the second visit to Glan yr Afon bungalow."

This time we enjoyed a longer stay of 5 nights in the beautiful Elan Valley. We visit every year, every time finding or doing something new. It truly is one of the most beautiful areas of mid Wales. The bungalow is spacious, clean and well equipped. The only thing I felt was missing was an outside space to dry clothes (a line or clothes horse to take outside would be good) but it didn't affect the holiday, just bring one if you think you will have good enough weather to dry clothes outside! The location is stunning. Rolling hills, sheep, lambs and kites out of every window. At night dark skies filled with stars! It is about 2 and half miles away from the nearest shop so have what you need with you when arriving. Fabulous trails to run and walk and great cycle routes. There is a great off road walking/cycle path going from Rhayader all the way to the reservoirs (probably not so suitable for a road bike as there are many gates to open and close! but safe for kids and those less confident on the roads). There is SO much more to see and do here. Riverside walks, paddling, access to kayaking in the River Wye. Leave the car parked somewhere safe and explore this wonderful place! We'll be back (maybe without the children so we can do even more exploring!!!)

  • "We had a wonderful 2 weeks in this cottage."

Staff were great, very polite when they attended the hot tub etc. Hot tub is HOT, was great sitting watching the storms we had. Very well equipped property. The house is isolated so dont book if you want night life! There was problem with the water pressure for the first 2 days (supplied from a spring further up the hill) Didnt bother us at all but the owners brought us bottled water just in case which was very thoughtful of them. We will definately book again in the future. Cant fault the house or the staff at all.

enjoyed the hot tub with the views of the hills in the distance. nice facilities in the bungalow with spacious kitchen. only downside was that there is only one bathroom, however it didnt cause much of an issue with us lads. definitely recommend.

  • "Privacy is very important to us."

A gardener turned up out of the blue and when I asked the caretaker if we could expect any more visitors, I did not receive a reply. The hot tub is listed as 'private', but it is in full view of a working farm and the road, so its not private at all, only at night-time. The mattresses were not comfortable. You could feel the springs on your body and some had a dip in the middle. I would recommend changing them. Although there is an iron, it wasn't very good. The bungalow also didn't have many personal touches to make it feel homely, it was quite cold and functional. With all that said, the bungalow was nice and big, well equipped with white goods, crockery etc, the surroundings were very beautiful and it's nicely situated from the Elan Valley and 5 mins from the local town Rhayader. There wasn't any tea/coffee/sugar/milk/salt/cooking oil etc so do bring them with you or buy some upon arrival.

  • "The holiday cottage is great and we loved the peaceful remote location."

the property is spacious and well furnished. I would like to see more attention given to some of the basic equipment just basic stuff - when we are self catering I like to cook and the cottage had a limited kitchen. Things like a roasting pan, mixing bowl, serving dishes, a hand mixer, a dustpan and brush would make this cottage exceptional. The views are amazing and the wifi is good - with a few tweaks it will be exceptional. The key safe need attention and the back door is difficult to open and lock. I would love to return

Were left to own devises and not disturbed. However, area around hot tub was quite muddy and slippy. Hot tub lid was heavy to lift on and off and there was no frame for this so had to be done completely manually by hand. Hot tub did have some dirt in the water which was off putting.

It was very clean and the owner was amazing, she let us check in early and offered to take delivery of our Tesco shopping. By time we arrived it was all packed away. Hot tub was definitely the highlight! Would recommend a stay here and would return again if we was ever in the area.

  • "We had a brilliant week in the bungalow!"

It was perfect for our 16 month old and we felt relaxed and like it was home from home. The hot tub and the views from it were amazing, we would highly recommend time in the hot tub in the evening with the amazing starry sky - hardly any light pollution! We loved the super king bed & will miss that lots. Half way through the week we were asked how things were which was good. The WiFi was great, especially as we didn’t get phone signal. The games room was freezing so we didn’t venture into it, but the heating in the rest of the place was perfect and it was quick to heat. We visited The Ela Valley many times, Devil’s bridge and Gilfach nature reserve. We also did lots of green laning in the Landry. We organised a Tesco delivery! We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and loved it being so remote and quiet. Was definitely one of these best holidays we have had. The only negatives were that it didn’t have much personal touch like a guest book or reccommendation book. We also did not meet Carl the owner and that might have been nice. He wasn’t great at responding to texts in the lead up to our stay. The smart tv was fab but we couldn’t really watch it as streaming was too slow. Nothing major, a brilliant stay and we will definately be back!!!

Everything we needed was provided it was comfortable and modern with beautiful views from every window. Loved the fact we could play pool in the game's room and also prvoided other games including beer pong which was great too. Our favourite was playing pool though one of the reasons we booked in the first place . Went to see the red kites feeding centre at Gigrin Farm also a great day. We have aleady booked again for next year and hope the facilities will be the same.

The kitchen was massive , the bedrooms were comfortable and the hot tub was incredible. Also gorgeous location with amazing views. The only negatives were there were a lot of flies inside the property espically in the kitchen and bedrooms. Also the first day the water was coming out dirty from the taps but it did ajust itself over night.
