  • "Lovely house with plenty of crockery and glasses."

Lots of rugs throughout the property which we found a bit of a trip hazard. Owner extremely helpful with good advice about the local amenities.

  • "We hired this house for a large extended family gathering and it worked out very well, sleeping arrangements were great (lovely view of town from one upstairs room), the living room was spacious with numerous windows (so light) and the kitchen / dining room with large table worked well to enable all the adults to eat together once infants were in bed."

The town itself is interesting and walkable from the house. Parking could be a bit of a challenge if you have multiple cars but local close "on street" parking was always available.

The owners couldn't have been nicer. Wonderful space both indoor and outside for the children and comfortable beds. Only issue was cordless Hoover didnt really work properly. Would recommend this property

The property was perfect for our needs - very comfortable, thoughtfully laid out and well-equipped. The friendly owner was very helpful. Bishop's Castle is also highly recommended. It's in excellent walking country and the town is lovely, with a good choice of pubs and restaurants.

Adrian was really friendly and came over once we had settled and gave me some advice on local things in the area and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very well kitted out for our family and had everything we needed. We would absolutely stay again. Thank you very much.

  • "Good spacious accommodation, I imagine especially suited to groups and extended large families."

The carpets and flooring could be renewed but are good quality just a little worn. Rest of property all good, with well stocked kitchen diner, and refurbed shower rooms.

  • "A perfect place to get away, we spent a lovely chilled weekend relaxing in this very comfortable house."

The large living room accommodated all 8 of us with ease, as did the lovely big kitchen/dinning area. The bathrooms look recently refurbished, the bedrooms comfy too. We were all really impressed with how clean and well equipped the house is with plenty of crockery and utensils. A lovely log burner already set up greeted us, Adrian's a lovely host and checked in on us too offering guidance on walks and places of interest. We will definitely be returning.

Adrian is a very welcoming and friendly host. The house was great for a family holiday with children. Shropshire is very hilly. Important to know if you're bringing your bikes. Had a fantastic family holiday with plenty of places to go for the week.

  • "Very large well equipped house in centre of town."

Friendly owner right next door. It is down a very narrow lane which makes it hard when exiting the parking area, though there is room to park 3 cars. The nearby town hall bell does ring through the night, which might be a problem if you wanted to open windows on a summer night. Lots of pubs and cafes, plus great walks on the doorstep. Highly recommended apart from the caveats above.

  • "A lovely house in a gorgeous location."

However the main reaon for my positivity is the helpfulness of the 'owner/manager' next door. Never instrusive but always on hand to help if necessary. And there's access to a fabulous log fire in the sitting rom. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the property - spacious and everything was there. We hope to return.

    Just what we needed.

  • "Lane House is spacious, comfortable and well located, right in town yet with views over the countryside."

It also has a really good collection of local history, landscape and archaeology books in the lounge - a mine of information. The owner was really friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back.

  • "Apart from some minor issues with the hot water, our expectations were exceeded."

The owner was helpful each time and he was really welcoming. We all loved the cleanliness, the quality of the bedding, the quality of the towels, the games table and the outdoor space. We were given permission to pick apples, figs and whatever else we could find so there were some in my party who were made up with this and we had Apple crumble to celebrate our trip away and the success of it. All in all, we felt extremely welcomed and if the owner was to update the decor, he could really charge a considerable amount for the place as it is a little gem. with regards to the surrounding areas, it was a struggle to find children friendly activities and walls but the discovery centre and the advice of the owner helped is wile away the time.

  • "What a fantastic location."

The house was amazing, lots of room, clean, everything you would need for a perfect family holiday. Adrian was the perfect host with lots of advice on where to visit. We visited the local pub the Three Tuns, The castle hotel, The Green Dragon and the Ragleth Inn nearby for meals out and ate really well. The Montgomery castle and the river at New Town Park were brilliant trips out and a trip to Clun castle and river all recommended by Adrian were perfect for our family. Would recommend staying here. They do have a town clock which adds to the charm but takes a little getting used too and a local cockerel which likes to make itself known but all in all I would highly recommend Lane House. Adrian you are a fantastic host. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
