Ploony Barn

Plooney Barn was everything it said it was.

It was lovely and clean and had all the amenities needed. We watched the Perseid meteor shower in the garden with no light pollution and it was amazing. The hot tub was just what was needed after a long day walking. Beautiful part of Wales and would definitely book again.

Having worked in architecture in Switzerland, this barn conversion has been extremely successful.

Congratulations to Darren and Lyndsey. The location is fairly remote, never seen so many sheep and lambs in my life. The hot tub was ideal for chilling out and observing the red kites. Footpaths on your doorstep or a short drive to Ellan Valley. We hope to return. Swiss Miss

Ploony Barn is a wonderful place to stay.

It's very quiet and has a lovely garden for dog to play in that is totally secure Everything is included for your stay including a tumble dryer which was excellent for us as we had a little bit of bad weather during our stay We were lucky enough to meet Lyndsey at a local pub so it was great to put a face to a name. It is very clear that Lyndsey is passionate about providing excellent quality accommodation for her guests. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the barn again, especially as we have friends in the area

Lovely property in a lovely location.

The only thing I would note is it is about a 1/2 mile drive down a track and can be bumpy but if you go slow as recommended you will be fine . It would not put us off staying again. It was love to see cows and sheep right opposite the accommodation. Just be careful if you go for a walk especially with dogs as there was few bulls and a lot of cows.

.. it was a beautiful home, extremely clean and comfortable, in beautiful surroundings! I personally loved that dogs weren't allowed upstairs or on the furniture so was like a real home from home for me!!!! Owing to the fact that we live in Wales this was our first break away for purely countryside views.

Our home is very close to the sea. We stayed at Ploony Barn from 260424 until 030524 for our wedding anniversary and both mine and my wife’s birthdays. As soon as we saw the location of the barn we were taken aback it was and is beautiful. There was countryside along with sheep and cattle as far as we could see and the place picturesque and peaceful. The barn was amazing with everything that you would need from dishwasher to washing machine and whatever else you could think was there it was wanting for nothing. It was beautifully clean and extremely tidy. The owner Lindsay was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a couple of very minor queries that we asked Lindsay for her advice to which we received responses from her within minutes and these were helpful and very positive. Overall we had an amazing week which we enjoyed totally. The location and the barn were amazing. We would recommend Ploony Barn to anyone wishing to have a holiday in a totally exquisite place and location. We intend to return for another holiday in the not too distant future. This barn is situated in the most beautiful of settings.

Fields, trees, and streams running alongside the barn are all very relaxing. However as it is stated as a dog friendly rental we were very disappointed on arrival to find the property is not, you are asked to keep dogs down stairs on a hard floor as not allowed on furniture or upstairs. Not relaxing for owner or pet. Perhaps provide throws as other establishments do. Take the dog bed as only comfort your fur baby will have. The bath was used on the day of arrival, which leaked through the ceiling into the downstairs area. This was not a new leak as the ceiling had previous water marks. On notifying the owner, we were asked 'well are you going to want to use it again?' We had to clean up water, place towels to catch water, and the owner did not come out till the next day. No apology given for inconvenience etc. Listing says hot tub as private however it faces the main lane giving access to other properties so felt exposed as cars and walkers going past. A privacy screen is definitely needed. Additional towels are recommended if using hot tub. Stair gate is a falling hazard as it sits on the bottom step and steps are deep and tall so effectively having to step down 2 steps at once. Garden very secure and fully enjoyed by our dog. My ratings are based on it being stated as a dog friendly establishment, if you have a working dog who is not used to its homly comforts then it may be a true statement.

The barn is perfect.

I would highly recommend this place, certainly got the WOW factor. Relaxing evenings in the hot tub surrounded by magnificent scenery. Beautiful walks with the dogs. It is safe and secure. The design of the barn is amazing. Lindsey and Darren (owners) were available all the time.

Our stay was very comfortable and everything was taken care of and plenty of information for the barn and surrounding areas. The hot tub was a bonus! The dogs loved the enclosed garden and also the surrounding fields where they could run free! Would definitely recommend.

Ploony Barn provided very good accommodation for 4 adults and one toddler.

The quality of the conversion was excellent. It was great because we were also able to borrow a high chair and a stairgate, and fire guard were provided. The laundry facilities in the utility proved to be very useful as we had rubbish weather. To top things off the owners were pleasant and helpful.

Great holliday and lovely cottage, we would definitely stay again if you are looking to escape and you want peace and quiet away from everyone this is the place to go, the barn was so clean and tidy it was faultless, Thanks Lindsey and Daren for an enjoyable stay.

Perfect place to stay to get away from it all.

Beautiful location in the valley & the barn was fitted out to a very high standard. Perfect for us a couple & one small dog but large enough for a family. Very comfortable & cozy & we just didn’t want to leave ! Nice walks outside the door as well as the stunning Elan valley a short drive away. Absolutely loved the hot tub after a days walking & was always warm & ready to use. Absolutely loved this place & cant recommend it enough!

It was clan comfortable in a beautiful quiet location. The hosts were great and not really needed because everything was spot on. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but his s the best yet. Would highly recommend a visit.

. it was amazing! The barn was nicely decorated with a lovely Christmas tree and decorations. It was very clean and spacious, with a great garden for the dogs to run around. A lovely quiet location with some great walks. The hot tub was a fantastic way to end the day. Lindsey and Darren were fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We’d definitely recommend this home, it was such a nice relaxing place to be.

The care and maintenance of this characterful property is obvious - Lindsey and Darren have achieved a cosy and relaxing atmosphere.

It was spotlessly clean too. Not even any limescale in the kettle! We would have no hesitation recommending to others. Thank you to them both for providing such comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting.

Plooney Barn was a lovely property with lots of room a fab kitchen and boot room.

The dogs loved the garden plenty of space for a run around If your looking for peace and quiet and to just chill out then this is the place. The hot tub was relaxing at the end of the day. It’s a lovely home with all necessary commodities. The hot tub is so relaxing and the surrounding area so peaceful. We’re considering coming back for a few days in the winter. Communication with the owners was fantastic throughout and I can’t recommend this home enough.

We (four adults 2 dogs) stayed for four nights at Plooney Barn and were sad to leave.

The barn was welcoming on arrival with flowers and wine, there was clear instructions left on how to use the facilities as well as a wealth of information on local attractions. We found the barn was well equipped, a spacious utility room with washer and dryer an outside tap to hose down the dogs after a long walk, comfortable beds, reclining chairs a SMART tv and so much more. The Hot Tub was definantly a highlight private and not overlooked perfect for relaxing in of an evening. It was very peaceful and quiet, exactly what we wanted. Mobile reception was non exsistant on the O2 network but wifi was available. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and are already looking to book again.

The Barn was beautiful, interior done to a high standard.

Comfy front room and beds. Kitchen had all amenities. Hot tub was great after our long walks. Our children loved the swing over the stream. We had a very relaxing time. Enjoyed by all. Lindsey and Darren were very helpful. Would highly recommend.

This is a beautiful barn well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable.

For those who love to have freedom in the countryside, you have it here - completely surrounded by fully accessible fields and the top of the Welsh hills - truly breathtaking, and wonderful if you have dog/s.

Equally, this old Drover's cottage, has been impeccably renovated with an open plan very smart kitchen, dining and relaxing sitting down area, and restored using beautiful oak flooring and beams. This creates an immediate intimate and atmospheric effect, and topped with first class fully automatic central heating - and an outside Jacussi to boot, which was heavenly - despite being January! A truly idyllic setting in central Wales to venture forth from.

Just returned from a lovely week away at Ploony barn so wanted to leave a review to say myself, my partner and our dog had a great relaxing break.

The cottage had everything you would need to be away from home but still feel like home including washing machine and dryer in the large utility room, which was a great space to leave our muddy boots and clean up our dog after walking him. We loved the log fire and hot tub too, and the Xmas trees were a lovely touch for our Xmas break ❤️the kitchen had all the utensils you’d need to cook some nice meals, we did a shop at the Tesco in Llandrindod wells which was about 20 mins away in the car, great local dog walk at fishpools just over a mile away, we also visited Ludlow town which had some nice shops and market(40 min drive), Highly recommend this lodge if you like peace and quiet in a beautiful cottage, we will definitely be returning again in the future, thankyou to Lindsey and family x

The barn was perfect for our requirements.

It had a wonderful utility room for the dogs to sleep in and get cleaned off, and the garden was fenced off really safe.The Barn was really comfortable and nice and warm,the hot tub was the icing on the cake. But most of all the hosts were delightful,a lovely family who were most obliging. We are looking forward to returning as soon as we can

Ploony Barn is in the most idyllic spot, surrounded by tree's and fields - just stunning. The barn itself has been done to very high standards with much thought to what guests need for a fabulous stay. It was a wonderful week away. The area is so peaceful, everyday we had just the stream, birds and frogs making noise, blissful! The hot tub is a welcome treat and very clean and new. We loved it and would highly recommend it for those that want to recharge their batteries in the most beautiful of places.

In the middle of nowhere which has its pros and cons depending on what one is looking for. For us this was a perfect getaway in COVID-19 time frame with good facilities in and around the house. The hot-tub was fantastic to have as well.

The location of the barn was perfect - isolated enough to feel as though we were away from the hectic day to day life but with amenities nearby should we need them.

The barn exceeded our expectation and was an idyllic haven to relax and recharge.
