  • "A beautiful little stone cottage in an ideal location."

Very nicely furnished and equipped, with a pretty garden and a good patio with bbq. On a quiet street, but less than 5 minutes walk from Dolgellau town centre with lots of good pubs, restaurants and cafes. A great base for exploring the area.

  • "A fabulous cottage."

Super clean and very cosy. Very close to all the village shops and restaurants yet very quiet at night. Parking opposite and found a space each time we returned. Lovely back garden with terrace, chiminea and seating. Will definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

Despite central location very quiet. Great shower. We found the galley kitchen a bit difficult to navigate but there is nothing to be done about that. Very pleased.

  • "A lovely little cottage, just as described and very good value for money."

Although it was a very wet weekend we had a great stay in Dolgellau with the centre just a few minutes walk away, in fact everything we needed was just on our doorstep. The information from the owners regarding places to eat was spot on. The only downside was that most of the logs provided were slightly too big to squeeze into the log burner - it didn't take away from our enjoyment of the cottage though.

  • "We had a great time at Bro Dawel."

The house is equipped with everything you could possibly think of. It was lovely and warm when we arrived which was nice after a long drive. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The bed is one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in! The enclosed garden is perfect for the dogs too. Plenty to do right on your doorstep or in a good location to drive a bit further afield. Lots of dog friendly days out and cafes/pubs nearby too which is a bonus. We’ve never been to Wales before, the house and the area are beautiful and we are already looking forward to hopefully returning next year! Thankyou for a lovely weekend.

Dear Emma, We are thrilled you had a great time at Bro Dawel Cottage, so very pleased it lived up to expectation. Love that this was you first experience of Wales and you decided to use our cottage. We would love to have you visit again. Property Owner

  • "Brodawel cottage met all our expectations except for the twin bedroom which was really only suitable for children not adults over 6ft."

The beds had base boards at the end which meant anyone over 6ft would struggle to fit. This information should be in the description of cottage. Unfortunately my Son in Law is 6’3” so ended up Sleeping on Sofa in the Lounge which was not ideal

Dear Anna, I am glad the cottage met you expectations; I am sorry your son in-law struggled. The single beds are standard size singles, and those shown on the cottage information at the time of booking. However, I will take your comments into consideration and when we do replace, divan beds will be our preferred option. Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated Property Owner

Comfortable beds. The decking seating was great. Radio TV reception, and WiFi very good. I was worried about parking, there are unallocated spaces across the road. We didn't have a problem. The next door neighbour was very friendly and advised us on parking if we should have failed to find a spot.

The cottage has great facilities and was really comfortable and clean. In particular, the power shower is amazing after a long day out walking and we loved the comfy sofas and bed. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed and we really appreciated the delicious wine and cake on arrival. The cottage has a fenced garden so is also great for dogs. The walks were incredible and all within a short drive from the cottage, with I think the most beautiful landscapes in Snowdonia. We'll definitely be back.

  • "The furnishings and furniture throughout the cottage are all of a high standard and definitely not cheap flat-packed furniture."

The kitchen looks brand new and comes with a dishwasher, which gives confidence that the cutlery and plates etc. used by previous tenants, will be clean. The cottage has clearly had a lot of money spent on it and that is shown in features such as the central heating system. The bathroom has a fantastic digital shower (walk-in) with rain and handheld shower options. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with good quality bedding and furniture. The towels provided were soft and ‘bath’ sized. Again, something simple such as the softness of the towels is reflective of the attention to detail, that the owners: Gary and Lisa, provide. In the master bedroom is an en suite toilet and sink. I’ve not used the log-burner, in the lounge, yet, but I will. The location in Dolgellau is perfect with a very short walk to local pubs and restaurants for eating. We eat at The Ship Inn a couple of times – their Sunday roast was superb and very good value. The cottage has lots of brochures and guides on the local area. One of them contains 20 walks around Dolgellau – we did walk no. 15 today. Outside the cottage is a large decking area with stone BBQ. Not really the weather to properly use it in late October, but in Summer, it would be a great area to sit out and enjoy a summer evening. I love the size of the cottage. It’s in a narrow street with lots of other similar stone and slate cottages. Absolutely gorgeous. A perfect and relaxing break. I would absolutely book Bro Dawel again.
