One did not open in twin bedroom. That is understanding with all old cottages. Owners we very helpful n responded straight away with questions. Everywhere is so dog friendly! Nice bug TV for cosy evening’s relaxing after a full on day exploring with our dogs. The little town has everything there to enjoy if you’d prefer not to drive out. Nice pubs and restaurants. All local businesses provide quality products too, which is essential to use & purchase from, to keep this lovely rural community alive. It was beautifully warm when I arrived and is such a well looked after property. There was nothing I wanted for. The garden looks fantastic but it was far too cold to even have a coffee in the decking! I'd say it's a boon outside of winter As I was leaving, I met the owners who were delightful and friendly. Thank you for the welcome gifts, really appreciated as well as starter pack of wood for the log burner. (Although I didn't use it as it's been warm nearly all week). Cosy little cottage, well fitted out and maintained and sparkly clean. All the kitchen items I needed to cook, fantastic shower and great heating to keep you nice and warm. It's really well located right in the centre of Dolgellau and as my visit was in November it was easy to park by the cottage free of charge every day. Very pretty with good neighbours and friendly people and stunning surrounding area. The garden was comfortable and pretty to sit/eat out in and we really did have a wonderful holiday. I did have to do a spot of cleaning when we arrived as the cupboards/fridge in the kitchen were not up to scratch. The bathrooms also needed a quick wipe down but all in all it was clean and tidy. My daughter and I found the mattresses on the uncomfortable side however my husband and son were fine - possibly a little of The Princess and the Pea going on. All in all we had a great time. Thank you

Dear Danielle, I am surprised to hear that there was some discontentment with your stay at Bro Dawel cottage, due to the cleanliness of the cupboards and fridge not being up to scratch. We do give all guests our telephone number should there be any issues and would have willingly rectified any cleanliness issues had you called. However we did not get any such call! We pride our selves on keeping a clean & tidy house and would have happily and quickly dealt with any request for further cleaning. Regards the mattresses, thank you for your feedback, it is personal taste as to the type of mattress people like and we cannot please some of the people all of the time. The kitchen looks brand new and comes with a dishwasher, which gives confidence that the cutlery and plates etc. used by previous tenants, will be clean. The cottage has clearly had a lot of money spent on it and that is shown in features such as the central heating system. The bathroom has a fantastic digital shower (walk-in) with rain and handheld shower options. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with good quality bedding and furniture. The towels provided were soft and ‘bath’ sized. Again, something simple such as the softness of the towels is reflective of the attention to detail, that the owners: Gary and Lisa, provide. In the master bedroom is an en suite toilet and sink. I’ve not used the log-burner, in the lounge, yet, but I will. The location in Dolgellau is perfect with a very short walk to local pubs and restaurants for eating. We eat at The Ship Inn a couple of times – their Sunday roast was superb and very good value. The cottage has lots of brochures and guides on the local area. One of them contains 20 walks around Dolgellau – we did walk no. 15 today. Outside the cottage is a large decking area with stone BBQ. Not really the weather to properly use it in late October, but in Summer, it would be a great area to sit out and enjoy a summer evening. I love the size of the cottage. It’s in a narrow street with lots of other similar stone and slate cottages. Absolutely gorgeous. A perfect and relaxing break. I would absolutely book Bro Dawel again.

  • "The cottage was fabulous, lovely, clean and cosy with up to date facilities with everything you would possibly want or need."

A great location for getting out and about and Dolgellau has many lovely places to eat and drink. All in all, even though we travelled on possibly the wettest weekend of the year, we had a really relaxing break and a great time. Will definitely book again!

  • "A beautifully furnished cottage with everything you need and more."

Ideally located for the town but with wonderful walks from the doorstep. I had a great time here, felt like home for the week, and I would highly recommend.
