  • "The property was quaint, very tastefully refurbished and well located in a lovely village on the outskirts of the Snowdonia national park."

The kitchen was modern and very well equipped. We appreciated the welcome pack of tasty treats but not the welcome by the ants in the kitchen and elsewhere! Some of the beds were not comfortable and the heating did not work (apparently connected to WIFI, which was on and off during our stay!). The shower is situated in the bath and no non slip bath mat was provided until nearly the end of our stay so we had to stand on a towel instead.

  • "The house was a home from home, lovely & clean, comfortable and a lovely welcome pack of goodies."

Beds were so comfy ! However there were a couple of issues…the cottage could really do with double glazing, on a number of occasions we literally couldn’t hear the tv because of the traffic noise…motor bikes (usually groups of them) one group decided to stop outside the cottage for a chat , probably deciding their ongoing route, also lorries driving past. We also made the mistake of leaving the bedroom windows open while we were out (only slightly) we came back to pools of water on the internal windowsill as it had been raining. The other issue we had was the toilet, once it had been flushed it took an absolute age for the cistern to refill, probably about 15 mins…..not ideal when there are a few people staying at the cottage. Hopefully we don’t sound petty because overall the cottage was fab but these issues did spoil the stay slightly.

  • "Thank you for a very lovely stay in this charming old Toll House."

We felt instantly relaxed and at home. Beds were comfy and the shower was nice and powerful. The cottage had been cleaned to a high standard and refurbished brilliantly (there was an issue with some unclean curtains which I’m sure will be remedied. )We personally felt a bit exposed with the interior wall window in the double bedroom that had a sky light on the stairs right behind it. A curtain on that would stop the daylight if you wanted a lie in and provide more privacy from the properties behind but we would definitely recommend the Toll House to friends and hope to return ourselves.

  • "Really nice house recently converted I guess, as everything is new and fresh and well laid out for holidaying."

The house had everything we needed and 5 people fitted in without feeling on top of each other. The location is a short walk from the town of Dolgellau yet an easy run to the coast. We had no problems parking cars on the street, even in August. The tiny amount of outdoor space was not an issue as there are lovely dog walks up behind the house and above the town. Altogether a great place to stay.

  • "Just had a lovely stay at the Toll House, very comfortable, & clean with all the utilities that you would need."

Fantastic location with Barmouth Beach, just 20 drive mins away. Plenty of local amenities in the village, restaurants, bakery, chemist, playground, and a large co-op shop all within a short walking distance from the Toll House. Would highly recommend for families and couples wishing to explore the area. We certainly hope to get back there ourselves later in the year.

  • "A lovely cottage in a small village with plenty of places to eat and lovely pub atmospheres."

If you are willing to drive it’s not too far from a few great destinations like Porthmadog and lake vyrnwy. The cottage was beautiful and clean only a few small stains here and there but everyone is human and it was nothing that bothered us, only down side was the outside patio seems to have gotten a little left behind and could do with a bit of TLC. Over all a great stay and will possibly be returning in the future :)

  • "We were lucky enough to stay at the Toll House during the heatwave and when we arrived were greeted by a lovely serene and cool cottage."

The downstairs layout and decoration was fantastic, everything we needed and a great place to come back to after a day out in the sun. All bedrooms were big enough for us, and although the low ceilings caught us all out a few times, it hasn't put us off planning to visit again. It would have been good to have some more storage in the bedrooms, but we managed. Dogellau looked beautiful in the sun, easily walked to and had everything we needed. Great location for exploring further afield as well. We managed to find parking without issues and could park outside for a few minutes to load and unload the car. All in all we loved our short stay at the Toll House and will hopefully be back soon.
