  • "Lovely family get together."

House was just as advertised. Only thing we found that the WiFi and TV reception was not that good. But it was still nice to just chill and listen to music instead. Will deffo go back.

  • "We had a lovely time at Oakwood House, it’s perfect for a family get together."

The children were entertained by the hot tub and pool table and there was plenty of room for us all throughout the house. The kitchen is well equipped and has plenty of room for 10 people. The only two points I would make are that the welcome pack said the hot tub was cleaned daily and we didn’t feel as though it was cleaned during our stay, the mattresses on the beds could do with replacing as every member of our party commented on them being uncomfortable. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we would recommend the house.

  • "Fantastic break for myself and my family."

Everything was immaculate, the only thing I would suggest is that you supply fly spray, there was a note in the welcome book about the flys so if this is a continuous problem I would expect you to supply your guests with fly spray to enable them to have a comfortable stay. Myself and my family had to eat upstairs as the flys were gathered in the kitchen and in the conservatory room. We were red hot as we didn’t want to open the doors so more flys would get it and I had to prepare my babies bottles upstairs too. As soon as we got fly spray the problem was easily solved but I don’t expect to be making trips to town just to look for the spray.

  • "Great cottage, great stay."

Just a little disappointed that we couldn't use the hot tub. Fully understand the weather was poor. But reported the hot tub was unusable on the first day to the number provided, but had no reply nor any remedy to topping up the tub to use! Other than that, really enjoyed the house.

Sorry for any inconvenience with the hot tub. The storm that weekend caused numerous problems on the park including several telephone lines down. This could explain the reason for no reply. We are very sorry about this. Property Owner

Unfortunately the weather wasn't on our side and we had to leave a night early to avoid the storm. The house is absolutely beautiful, the views are spectacular. I do have to agree with previous reviews in regards to the lack of lighting on the patio area and rear of the property. We very much look forward to returning in the near future!

We are very glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately the storm caused numerous problems that week. We take your feedback very seriously. Thank you Property Owner

We all relaxed, the outside space was wonderful, kids played football, we all took a turn in the hot tub, we had a barbecue evening and we loved exploring this peaceful and beautiful part of Wales. We enjoyed it so much that the hunt is now on for another house for next year!

I would 10/10 recommend everyone to visit the place. The house itself is beautiful with exceptional, breathtaking features. Our hosts were very attentive and very helpful in ensuring our stay was as smooth as possible. On the last day my friends and I ran into some trouble food wise which was completely our fault, but the hosts were so kind and receptive and they immediately sent someone to assist us in going to the nearest restaurant to pick up some food. Best customer service I’ve ever experienced!!! Will definitely visit again!

Its a 2.2mile walk to bars and restaurants. If the cottage had outdoor lighting (instead of solar Lighting) we would have spent a lot more time outside in the hot tub. We had a problem with the aga, we reported it and it was sorted within 20min. The owner and staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely be returning.

We had a family weekend away and this was the perfect place for everyone, we had ages from 3 months up to 87 years old! The pool table was brilliant, as well as the large lounge area (Just wish they would of been a heater in there for the cooler evenings, there was 2 fans but only blew out cold air). The kitchen was great and very well stocked with various pots and pans etc. We we all very happy :)

  • "Beautiful house, plenty of room for more than 9 people."

Plenty of parking spaces for 6 cars on the driveway. The Aga was interesting, never used one before but soon got the hang of it. Plenty of bathrooms with baths and showers. It would be beneficial to have lights outside on the patio area, when the nights draw in, you can’t see a thing. There were solar lights but as it is winter they don’t charge in the day. It was pet friendly and my dog loved the garden. The radiator in one of the bathrooms was leaking, but apart from that it was brilliant. I will book it again for sure, the whole family had a lovely time.

  • "Booking was really easy and clear through the Sykes website."

The property we rented was beautiful and exactly as listed. Directions and key collection was emailed to us in advance which was great however on arrival the key safe was broken and we found the property open with the keys in the door. Not a problem for us but a little worrying security wise however we live in the city so probably just not expecting it. Had an issue with the hot tub a few days into our stay but after an email sent to the site I had a response in less than an hour and a lovely lady came first thing the next morning to fix it. Absolutely beautiful house and plenty of room for our party of 9 without us feeling like we were under each other's feet. There is a huge conservatory on the back of the house which gives a fantastic view of the land. The listing states plenty of parking for 3 cars and has a garage, we had 4 cars and still had plenty of room. Facilities were great and it was an experience cooking for 9 using an Aga which we had never used before but had fun doing it. Pool table is a great touch also. Lots to do and see in the local area and plenty of information in the house about this. All in all a brilliant holiday and wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend to others

  • "When we arrived we found food remnants and broken glass in the bottom of the dishwasher but otherwise the house was very clean."

We were concerned that a curtain pole was hanging out of the wall and one room had a broken pane of glass but when we spoke to the owner, he was aware of the glass but had been unable to get it replaced because the house had been constantly booked out but he was not aware of the curtain pole and thanked us for telling him which allayed our fears that we may be blamed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and quick to respond to our concerns with warmth and empathy; they were there if we needed them but left us alone to enjoy the house, it's ammenities and the stunning views. The house is well designed with ample room to accomodate large groups of people to spend time together whilst also providing space for solitude from each other if it is needed!!!! This really is a beautiful place to stay; it is incredibly peaceful and relaxing and sitting in the hot tub watching the many Red Kite birds dancing in the sky is a memory we will all remember.

She was unable to relax in the house. Having a two year old and keeping an eye on him at all times is very stressful knowing that he was attempting to open the windows in the bedrooms. House needs more out door lighting it has none. I appreciate the the house is in a light pollution area. The hot water coming out of hot taps would scold you. This was a problem with young children. Must have been about 65deg C. Overall the house was fantastic, plenty off parking for four cars and the view was out of this world from the conservatory.

We found the house spacious, well equipped and comfortable. The area is very beautiful and perfect for those enjoying walks ranging from short riverside strolls to 20+ miles. We would respectfully suggest some form of adjustable shading be provided for the spacious conservatory as, even in mid September it could become very warm. A car is essential to reach most points of interest and starting points of trails. We found this to have all the requirements for a memorable holiday.

  • "Oakwood house was just amazing."

We had a wonderful week and we are already missing the spectacular views. The outside seating area isn’t comfatable so we spent very little time sat outside. It really needs proper garden furniture with some sort of shade for the summertime. We was very fortunate that we had amazing weather but that meant we couldn’t sit in the living room as it was far too hot, it also meant we couldn’t watch tv until the sun had gone done. You really need to install some sort of blinds to block the sun and possibly some fans. The AGA cooker was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed doing the cooking. We all had a lot of fun playing pool and my husband and granddaughter enjoyed the hot tub. The beds were extremely comfortable but we found the pillows were not and it was something we all commented on. Overall a wonderful house, it had everything you could possibly need.

. it was a brilliant weekend! There was loads to keep us entertained! The hot tub was so much fun. The house is huge with more than enough bathrooms, the beds are very comfy! The kitchen has everything you need for the weekend and to cook for a large group of people. For people who have never used an aga before a warning note not to turn it off would be great haha. Also a BBQ would be perfect there too! We were slightly worried because we were a noisy bunch but we didn't get told to quietned down or anything, it was lovely to relax and have fun for the weekend. The house easily accommodates 10 people and there are plenty of bathrooms and table seating (there may be a fight for the hot tub though as it seats 6 (7 at a push)). Very modern property and will definitely be visiting again...only one suggestion, the conservatory, although perfect for viewing the kites up above, gets extremely hot and bright, would be worth considering blinds.
