  • "Thank you for our stay in your beautiful home."

Immaculately presented with wonderful views (apart from the trees and foliage blocking the sea view from some angles ). A couple of points for thought - we struggled with no dining table as the breakfast bar eating arrangements were unsociable and uncomfortable. We couldn’t play games on there or have our usual family time. The property was hard to find with the postcode and we struggled. It is wholly unsuitable for my aging parents who were unable to manage the hill at all. The only other point I would like to add is the lack of cutlery - meaning the dishwasher was on twice a day as we ran out after breakfast! The young adults managed to spill a drink on their bedding but thankfully I’d bumped into your lovely cleaner who was able to help us in providing spare linen as we washed it but could dry it ! It might be useful to leave a spare set. She is an angel and an asset to your property. We were touched by the attention to detail for the dogs - the treats and towels were lovely to have available thank you.

Hi Andrew Thankyou for your feedback , I am pleased that you found the property immaculate and enjoyed the sea. views! We are surprised you didn’t find the property comfortable enough as all our other guests have all been more than happy with the modern layout/breakfast kitchen. Sorry the hill was a bit of a challenge for you but as a property owner this is not something I can or would want to rectify - Harlech is built on a hill for a reason being home to one of the most magnificent castles In wales and is also famous for its stunning views and worlds steepest street! Perhaps you would be more suited to a flatter part of wales next time you book a holiday. Sara and Nick (property Owners - Hafod y bryn) Property Owner

  • "Beautiful house, stunning sunset views and walking distance to the beach."

House was immaculate and very comfortable and we were grateful to receive lots of information and a goodie basket. Great communication with the owner.. Harlech is a lovely place with a beautiful castle and the beach is stunning and dog friendly. Loved our stay will come again.

Hi Ben. Thankyou for all your amazing feedback, sounds like you had a fantastic time. We are especially glad you got to see the stunning sunsets from the property which is a lovely addition to your holiday. You and your family (dogs too) will be very welcome to stay in the future. • "The property is modern and very well maintained."

The goodies for us and the treats for our dog were a lovely welcome surprise. The property is in a perfect elevated location in the centre of Harlech just yards from the castle. Great views over Harlech beach (although not the owners' fault, the trees over the road could do with trimming to improve this). There is parking at the property for one vehicle (although we did struggle with our VW campervan due to the depth and angle of the drive, but we did manage it). Good information left at the property for use of all facilities aswell as places to visit. The home owners are easily contacted should you need to. Overall, we highly recommend the property as the perfect place to stay in Harlech

Not many places we would return to as we love trying new locations and cottages, but this one we will defiantly be returning to.

  • "We loved this place, firstly it’s a great location not far to walk down the hill to the beach and back up, the exercise meant we cud have more treats!"

It’s close to the castle and shops but not too close as to be busy in front of the property. The driveway was easy to use and plenty big enough for a big car! The inside has been well thought out and the kitchen well equipped, and amazingly the owners text to see how our holiday was going and when I mentioned an item we wud have appreciated they had it delivered!!! Amazing!! Did I mention the views?? Also amazing!! So much to do in the area, such a variety of walks, coastal or mountains, I could write positively all day! We booked again! Enough said!

Hi Melanie Thankyou so much for taking the time to leave such an amazing review, seems you love the area and the property as much as we do! Harlech really does have so much to offer for everyone. We appreciate all feedback from our guests as we are still looking to improve on anything no matter how small so it was our pleasure to have a couple of items delivered for you. So glad that you enjoyed your stay so much you have booked again - we look forward to you returning in September! Best Regards Sara and Nick (property owners - Hafod y Bryn) Property Owner

  • "We had such a fabulous week staying at Hafod Y Bryn."

Harlech really is a lovely place and this property is perfectly located to walk out of the door and enjoy all that Harlech has to offer on foot. We explored the surrounding area by car which is truly stunning. The off road parking for the property is a little tight, particularly if your vehicle is on the big side so we chose to park our car in the town on one of the quiet back streets. It was completely free and safe and only a few minutes walk away through a beautiful, peaceful wooded picnic area. The layout of the property is great. Upstairs is Light, airy and spacious with magnificent views over to the dunes and the sea. Wouldn't hesitate to return here.

  • "A fantastic house which has been wonderfully refurbished."

We really enjoyed our short break in Harlech. The owners are very attentive and respond to any queries very quickly. I would just mention that the car space is quite small and could be difficult to park depending on the size of the car, otherwise a fabulous house to stay in.

Hi Graham Thankyou so much for your outstanding feedback, we are so pleased that the property made your stay in beautiful Harlech even more enjoyable and you liked the refurbishment. We are still looking to improve the property if we can and a driveway alteration is one of them , although it is adequate for one car at the moment. Really hope you will want to return and stay at hafod y bryn again to enjoy the sun next time! Best regards Sara & Nick (Owners hafod y bryn) Property Owner

  • "The property was lovely very clean and comfortable with lots of nice touches ( milk water teabags Welsh cakes) also cleaning products which you don’t usually get."

Lovely log burner which we did use and it warmed the room really quickly. The guest information was useful and we could almost touch the castle walls. There is a convenience store just up the hill for your essentials and a lovely bakery with fresh bread. There wasn’t much open but it was really early in the season so I guess that’s why. We went into Barmouth (The last Inn and Llanbedr The Victoria to eat. Plenty of space for 5 and 2 medium size dogs. It was on a very steep hill which wasn’t mentioned in the listing it didn’t bother us but anyone less able may find it quite difficult. The parking space at the front was quite tight but manageable and we did secure a free space further up the hill for the other car. The walk to the beach took us about 20 mins. Our granddaughter went on a pony trek to the beach in Fairbourne which she loved the staff there were lovely. The weather was a bit mixed with plenty of rain but we came prepared so we didn’t mind at all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Hi Jayne Thankyou so much for your great review - your feedback is very much appreciated. We are so pleased that you liked the property and you and your family had a good time exploring! Sounds like the welcome information was useful and you made the most of visiting all the dog friendly places mentioned. Really hope you will want to return again soon! • "We had the privilege of being the first guests to stay at Hafod Y Bryn."

It exceeded our expectations in lots of ways. The views from the property showing the sea view and the castle are amazing. It was lovely to sit in the enclosed patio area and watch the sea. The property itself has been luxuriously appointed, with lots of useful personal touches. All three bedrooms are generous in size and extremely comfortable. The living area is larger than it appears in the pictures. The sofas easily sat six adults, as did the seating area in the kitchen. There were lots of board games, which we all had fun with. It's safe to say, this is a very dog-friendly property. There are dog blankets and towels provided. It's also the first property we've stayed in that provided a welcome pack for the pooches and us! We had a minor issue that we reported and was dealt with within the hour. This alone shows how committed the owners are to the comfort of their guests.

Hi Cara Thankyou so much for your lovely review. We are so pleased that the property and stunning view went beyond your expectations and you enjoyed your stay. As our first guests at Hafod Y Bryn following a full refurbishment it is nice to know that everything met and even exceeded your requirements. We will continually be looking to improve on the property , no matter how small the detail may be, maintaining our standard and hope that you will return In the not too distant future to enjoy our view again. You and your family (and pooches) will be very welcome! Bests regards Sara and Nick Property Owner
