  • "The cottage was wonderful and an excellent place to stay to relax and to discover more about the beautiful North Wales countryside."

  • "I have no significant issues with the cottage we rented, but have major issues with Sykes marketing offers which I find insulting and unreasonable: I was sent a £25 voucher the week before taking up our cottage this month."

The day we moved in, but after I had taken up this offer on a 2020 cottage rental, I was sent a £40 voucher. When I telephoned asking if I could have this £40 offer instead of the one week previous £25, I was told that the second higher offer could not be used on the very high 2020 rental I had taken as it was offered against a further potential rental. No it wasn't, and no Sykes will not relent and also insist despite all cool off laws that if I choose to cancel my 2020 rental (and this would have been within any normal 14 day cool off period), I would be contractually liable for the whole deposit. This is all despicable practice and while I am reluctantly keeping the 2020 booking I have made, be sure it will be my last with Sykes.

  • "The bins were left outside not in the bins provided therefore were strewn around by the wildlife."

Not such a welcoming site. We did clean them up into the bins for council collection on the Monday morning. The beds were comfy although it was questioned by some in the party if they had been clean on. The oven certainly could have been cleaned before we arrived. As could the clothing found behind the couch in the lounge. The number of glasses which had been put away with a crack in them was shocking I took out 4 and put them aside. There was the benefit of many more There was an abundance of utensils. Which was very useful. A reminder to bring some tinfoil would be good. The dishwasher was good to go after we cleaned the filter and filled the salt. Something I didn't expect to have to do. The use of the two fridges for such a large party was very useful. The cottage was very well laid out.

  • "The cottage was lovely and homely."

Bit disappointed to learn that one of the bathrooms was out of bounds the day before we were due to arrive but didn't hinder our trip. Location was ideal. Overall we were really happy with the accomodation and had a lovely time. Would definitely consider returning. Gary (the home owner) was lovely and extremely helpful when we locked ourselves out! Apparently we were not the first haha.

  • "Generally very pleased with accommodation at Is Y Deri, but felt that there was room for improvement in cleanliness in some areas, e."

    G. floors, especially downstairs. Bathrooms however were very clean. Fridge space is rather limited for a cottage for up to 10 people. That said, we had a great week and would be happy to book again if visiting the area.

Very clean on arrival, very cold when the heating turned off at night but the log fire was great! Would definitely recommend.
