  • "We had the most wonderful and relaxing week at Hope Hall Barn, Anna the owner was welcoming, with a straight forward check in and provided lots of local information, maps and suggestions for walks directly from the property."

The secure and enclosed garden was wonderful for our dog, being able to open the door for him, knowing he was safe at all times was such a treat The barn was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay, including plenty of logs for the log burner and a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake, thank you Anna The property is very quiet and set remotely at the top of a long drive, the views of the surrounding countryside are amazing, even though it was a bit wet and windy we spent time sitting outside with a cuppa soaking up the tranquility. There is a local pub - The Stables which was a 10 minute walk from the property which is very cosy with an open fire and a varied menu, we would recommend the home made pies This was our first visit to Shropshire, Im sure without doubt we will return in the future

If peace and privacy is what you seek this is the perfect location. Our charming host provided us with everything we needed to make the delightful Barn a really cosy castle during a very wet and cold spell. The garden was expansive and totally dog friendly and secure which allowed us complete peace of mind whilst our Bumble was out enjoying his domain. So many picturesque and interesting places to visit. Thank you

  • "The barn was lovely in an amazing setting."

We had a slight issue with the stone pathways which our dogs found a challenge but the secure garden was a great relief as the dogs could roam freely. The drive up to the barn was a little difficult for a family car being very steep and slippery in places. If we could suggest a small thing that would make the barn even more comfortable, it would be maybe updating the sofas. We shall certainly return in the future as Anna was an ideal host and excellent baker.

The Barn was comfortable and well equipped. Our Greyhound loved zooming around the garden and was made to feel very welcome. We were lucky with the weather and evening meals at the top of the garden watching the fantastic sunset was a real treat. The Barn is an ideal base to explore the local area, with Shrewsbury being an unexpected delight. We recommend the Stables Inn for a good pint and lovely grub, also the Stiperstones Inn and the Three Tuns in nearby Bishop’s Castle are well worth a visit. We’d love to return.

The barn itself was clean and cosy with everything you could need for a relaxing holiday. The garden was large and perfect on a sunny day for us and our dog. The sunsets from the picnic table at the top of the garden are not to be missed. The host Anna was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, including a delicious homemade cake on our arrival. We had a lovely week and were so lucky with the weather. The barn is so well equipped and comfortable. The garden is lovely and safe for dogs, loads of room to run free. There are many places to visit nearby but shops are 2.5 miles away so make sure you stock up with food or Sainsburys at Shrewsbury will deliver. A long gravel track leads to the property which is on the top of a hill. The views are amazing ! The lady owner lives just opposite and does everything she can to help if needed. We were greeted with a lovely cake, milk and flowers. We can’t wait to return and would fully recommend the barn. which is on the top of a hill. The views are amazing !!

A large enclosed garden ideal for a dog friendly stay. A log burner with plenty of wood to keep the place snug and keep the cold out (we visited in a very cold and windy Easter). The lovely owner in the house opposite is very helpful, friendly and makes a damn good lemon drizzle cake! A lovely place to stay for walks up the Long Mynd, Stiperstones, the nearby abandoned lead mines, picturesque villages and trips across the Welsh border (Montgomery recommended).

There is a large enclosed back garden with a flat lawn, a slope and some trees to keep the dogs interested outside. Our fantastic host showed us the dog walks accessible off-lead from the front door so we could tire them early before going off to enjoy the exceptionally picturesque countryside, never having to travel far to find something different. We enjoyed inside as much as outside too. The wood burner provided more than enough heat and a lovely atmosphere in which to relax as a family after taking in all the area has to offer. There is a log burner and lots of logs supplied but it was a very hot week and we didn't need them. The barn is very quiet and rural which we loved. The garden is beautiful and perfect for dogs and safe for children. The barn is also pretty. We struggled without clothes drying facilities as in a tumble dryer with a family of four. The double bed we found uncomfortable but the two single beds in the other room were lovely. We regularly stay in cottages and barns across England and Wales and think that a gesture of milk and bread is often much appreciated especially when accommodation is so far from local shops. The host Anna was lovely and helpful, there if you need advice. The area is lovely for walkers, for the children and more active days out such as theme parks and similar we often went back to Wales and enjoyed a day out in Bewilderwood in Chester as well. The local Ludlow Castle was lovely and Shrewsbury Town is pretty. There are lovely walks on the grounds of the barn. There is a pub within a 10 mins walk from the barn, it wasn't for us so we often went to the Nags Head in Pontesbury, food was lovely and drinks lovely. Lovely stay but with a few changes recommended as above.
