"We very much enjoyed our stay here."
Nice spacious cottage, large pretty garden and lovely walks close by. However those with pets and young children should beware the lane outside - normally fairly quiet but with occasional speeding vehicles cutting close to the gate. Cosy comfortable living room. The bedrooms were nice with comfy beds. The bathroom was less enjoyable - water supply was feeble, shower temperature very difficult to regulate and, to make things worse, often couldn't flush the toilet due to faulty cistern valve. The kitchen was spacious, nice and reasonably well equipped but drawer knobs kept coming off. Also no floor mop, with no door mats either the floor at times got rather wet.

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable week at Glandwr, two adults, two teens and our dog!"
Garden was secure , unless your dogs a wall jumper they’ll be fine. The beds were comfy, the towels were fluffy, and the kitchen was the best stocked in terms of utensils , and cooking facilities, although all the temperature markers have worn off the cooker. We stayed here the week the weather changed and we did find the property a little damp. There were plenty of heaters to take off the chill but they didn’t really stop the damp. The place has plenty of character but could do with a bit of TLC, and a more thorough clean. Stunning walks around the area, the waterfalls nearby are a must! All in all we had a great week, thank you!

"I stayed at this property with my husband, son, my future daughter in law and their 8 month old baby plus one large German Shepherd dog and a small Jackapoo."
There was plenty of room for us all, plus more. I did do some cooking from scratch and I found all of the utensils I needed. The garden is a large enclosed cottage garden, with small pathways going in different directions, through shrubs and under archways full of climbing roses, a real sensory overload of wonder fragrances, visual colours and let's not forget the sound of the river.
I'm a light sleeper and I did wonder if the river would keep me up at night, but once you are in the cottage and the windows are closed you can not hear it. With the windows open the noise is minimal.
The front garden is a sun trap in the afternoon where my husband spent many an hour relaxing.
Out and about
We have a dog that can be reactive to other dogs so we need big open spaces to walk him. There are many beaches nearby that are very dog friendly and they are huge, one beach my son went to you can drive your car on, which was very handy for the dog .
There are pubs within a short drive away from the cottage (you could walk it but there is no path and it is a bit of a walk).
Barmouth seaside town
Is nearby about a 30 minutes drive from the cottage, it has amusement arcade, a small fun fare and shops.
The cottage was a great place to escape for some peace and quiet and an excellent base for you to explore.

"Lovely old cottage, grounds spacious and well laid out secure for dogs."
Kitchen spacious as well as living room, main bedroom large other bedrooms seemed to have a beds shoe horned into them. The downside, fridge freezer was described by my wife as “minging” and smelt or the smell could have been in the pantry, we put food for the freezer into plastic bags. The oven dials had no markings so had to guess temperatures and the grill didn’t work. Hot water tap in bathroom was a trickle television in main bedroom didn’t work and no welcome pack for the living room fire.

"Lovely cottage in a lovely spot."
Lovely walks from the door and short drive to beaches. Cottage very homely and large garden but we couldn’t sit out because not secure for the dogs. Just a couple of things spoilt it for us, The road was quite busy outside the cottage and cattle grid noisy so not totally peaceful. Garden not totally secure, ok for very small dogs.

"Wow, what a lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet location."
The cottage was the perfect place to explore the Welsh countryside and mountains.
Also very close to the picture perfect beach and castle at Harlech.
Apart from a few cleaning issues upon arrival and a lack of any fire wood it was a very pleasant stay.
The bed was very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped to cook a Sunday lunch.
The garden is a lovely addition and the sound of the rushing water from the two rivers across from the cottage was a welcome addition that made our stay even more enjoyable.
We will definitely be booking it again for next year.

"This cottage is even better than the photos!"
Crossing over the road bridge to reach the property, surrounded by two rivers and an abundance of trees, set the perfect tone for our stay. (Parking is easy and secure)
The garden is spacious and fully secure for dogs, even the tiny ones which was such a relief.
We entered through the back door into a lovely conservatory/morning room, the perfect spot for morning coffee. The lounge is traditional and cosy with a beautiful fire, and the kitchen had everything we needed (no issues storing boiled water).
The bedrooms were comfortable and welcoming, and the bathroom was clean and well equipped.
Our only small gripe was that the water pressure was a little low — but we managed just fine, and it didn’t take away from our enjoyment of this beautiful old cottage.
The surrounding areas have plenty to offer from local walks to a full day out.
And don’t worry about no central heating, the Rayburn keeps the kitchen warm and there are plenty of heaters and blankets available throughout the property.

"My second visit to the cottage this year."
The setting is a great place to be for walking, sea side beach visits and down time. Sadly no welcome pack as previous visit bottled water, milk and nibbles (tap water not for drinking).
Contacted Sykes shortly after arrival and had need for discussion with housekeeper who offered advice, but we did our best to accommodate our needs including for bedding and lighting.
Garden and outside space is magical and was well used by dogs on lead and for afternoon tea and relaxing.
The Rayburn was on roasting temperature which spread throughout. There was almost everything in the kitchen you could possibly need apart from oven gloves and dishwasher.
The cottage is beautiful and lovely. Would recommend and be happy to visit again.
PS Would like to have communication with owner if possible

"We loved our trip to Glandwr cottage."
The cottage worked really well for our family, is in a lovely location and the perfect base for our week in North Wales.
The only downside was that the cottage was very cold (even in the middle of summer) and with out the Rayburn on, it was difficult to dry towels, swimsuits and wetsuits.
Also, we something in the cottage and it hasn’t been easy to contact you and the owner to arrange for its return.
