A lovely well equipped cottage in beautiful countryside.

Sarah and Pete were very kind . My niece was getting married nearby and was able to get ready at the cottage. Pete gave us a lift to Oswestry for an evening meal .

A warm welcome from Pete and Sarah who also made sure we wanted for nothing during our stay. The property is spotless, fully-equipped, and very comfortable, the hot tub very welcoming after a hard day's exploring around the area. We had a wonderful 2 week stay in a beautiful, peaceful, hidden valley.

The house was everything we could have wished for and it was a joy sitting outside on the sunny evenings. Very well placed to visit the local attractions and to go further afield into Snowdonia. Our hosts were there if we needed them and thank you again for the delicious cakes. Must visit places for us were the Stonehouse Brewery and the Dyfi Osprey Centre.

There is nothing that we would have changed: hosts were lovely.

House lovely, clean, bright, comfy. Farm idyllic. Situated perfectly with no traffic noise (although the single country lanes would prove scarey for some!)

My husband booked this as a surprise (Nov) birthday week gift and I am leaving the review, as he is rubbish at it!

! HA! We loved our visit to the "The Old Cart House"! I am simi-handicapped so at first I was worried about the stairs, but I only had to go up to bed, and then down to start the day as an upstairs and downstairs shower / bath room is a real find! I can walk some but we packed my push wheelchair, and my portable scooter for days adventures around the countryside. I must say however, the most wonderful view was from the hills of Sarah and Pete's farm... Pete offered a tour of the farm and it was the highlight of my trip, as I was raised on a cattle ranch in New Mexico USA. I wish I could attach a photo, I've had my Facebook friends comment it looks like a postcard! The house is off the beaten path, but we visited the Aqueduct and Ludlow Castle and ate lunch out afterward in November so nothing is far away. It was wonderful to have room to spread out! We have a very small home near London, and in our 60's, we enjoyed having a week each in a private bedroom, (lot's of people will appreciate a good marriage will benefit from some space on occasion!!) Comfortable furniture, couches, beds, wonderful kitchen, I can think of no improvement to suggest... Thank you Sarah and Pete, hope to visit you again! Katrina and Andy

What a great property, lovely location and great hosts.

The property was superb, very clean and well presented. Our hosts, met us as we arrived and offered help if needed. Pete even took us on a tour of the farm. We enjoyed the weather, walks and countryside peace. Thank you Sarah & Pete for offering this property for others to enjoy.

The location and the surrounding area is perfect, and Sarah and Pete are so kind and helpful and certainly go above and beyond for their guests. We had one of the best holidays here and would highly recommend to others and will definitely return in the future.

She met us when we got to the beautiful property. Contained everything we needed. Everything was spotless and well thought out. Hot tub was a special treat for us. Lovely location surrounded by wonderful countryside, so peaceful. Pete took us for a tour of the farm with lovely views. The best property we have stayed in and hope to return next year. So much more still to see.

This was, without doubt, one of the best rental property experiences that we have ever had.

Several days prior to arrival I contacted the owner with a few questions relating to our stay. Sarah’s response was very prompt and so very kind and helpful, going way over and above my expectations and helping me plan a surprise for our friends special birthday. The property itself is on a working sheep farm in a quiet and idyllic location, surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside. The Old Cart House is a converted farm building that has been lovingly restored by the owners with solid oak frames and high quality materials. Every detail of the interior has been thought about with their guests in mind - from comfortable beds and pillows, high quality bed linen and towels, large built-in wardrobes and a dressing table (with hairdryer) in both bedrooms, comfortable sofas, one of the best equipped rental property kitchens we have ever come across, plentiful sockets in every room, a lovely selection of games and books and 2 well appointed bath/shower rooms with plentiful hot water for 4 adults. The entire property was spotlessly clean throughout and everything very well maintained and in perfect working order (including the lovely hot tub in the garden which can be arranged at an extra cost directly with the owner). The property felt very private and was very peaceful (the local birds and sheep were pretty much the only sounds we heard for most of the weekend!). I cannot recommend this property highly enough. What started off as being a last minute booking ended up becoming a very special and memorable weekend and one that we will definitely want to repeat again in the future. A rare gem of a property and host!

Lovely accommodation, a little bit off the main roads but when you arrive it’s well worth it, you are welcomed by lovely friendly owners and made most welcome, it’s a working farm environment and as we were there in the lambing season, it only added to the enjoyment of our holiday, absolutely great

An excellent, comfortable, well equipped property with friendly owners.

We felt very very much "at home" from the moment we arrived and the welcome goodies were much appreciated. The surrounding countryside makes for a peaceful relaxing stay within easy reach of Oswestry. The Old Cart House is the perfect base for exploring, and we took advantage of some lovely walking and also a visit to the British Ironwork Centre, which exceeded our expectations. A lovely cottage is a quiet and peaceful location.

The Old Cart House is renovated beautifully and is fitted out with everything you need.

We had a super warm welcome and spent the week exploring the beautiful countryside of Shropshire.

This is our second Easter in this lovely house and the second time we have come home feeling like we have had some real respite.

The house is extremely cosy, comfortable, clean and has everything you could need, with idyllic surroundings, literally on your doorstep. You feel like you have miles of countryside all to yourself, I find the views around here so beautiful it’s totally therapeutic. Thanks to Pete and Sarah for making us feel so welcome at your farm again, I’m sure we’ll be back.

Beds extremely comfortable, comy sofas, beautiful vista from large lounge windows. Lots of walks around farm, Oswestry close by for provisions. I have rated this 5*, but hope I don't live to regret it, by not being able to stay again because its fully booked. Mark & Wendy Jackson

We’ve stayed in a lot of places domestically, absolutely nowhere though were we as instantly comfortable as this house.

A beautifully decorated and loved barn conversion in a lovely part of Shropshire, everything you need for a pleasant stay already inside the house. Owners Pete and Sarah run a sheep farm but always find the time to help out with any query you may have. Me and my son even experienced our first ride in a tractor courtesy of Pete! Will definitely be staying here again for a cosy winter getaway.

Thought of absolutely everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible and didn’t need to ask for anything as it had already been thought of and was there. We hired the hot tub also which was a lovely addition. Would definitely recommend staying here and would love to actually live here. 10/10 xx

We had an amazing stay at The Old Carthouse (4 adults, 1 toddler, 1 baby).

Sarah and Pete had gone the extra mile to make us all feel welcome and even provided play sand a paddling pool for the toddlers. The house is extremely well equipped - everything you'd expect in your own kitchen, which made it so easy to cater for ourselves! Lots of great things to do locally within half hour drives, or even further. The hot tub was great too!! We would love to come again!!

Even things you don't think of. It is very clean very stylish a nice and quiet area just the sound of sheep and birds. And the added bonus is that you can hire hot tub off the owners what really makes it special in the evenings.

It was in a lovely setting and the owners were fantastic.

They took time to show us around and make us aware of good places to visit in the area. Peter and Sarah kept in contact throughout our stay but were not intrusive. Couldn't ask for better hosts.

Come back relaxed and rejuvenated . Sarah and pete have done a remarkable job, they go above and beyond to make your stay special ( not forgetting the extremely funny owen !) would definitely recommend a visit here and we will certainly be back.

The old Cart House was home from home tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We loved everything about the cottage and wanted for nothing. The Owners Sarah and Pete were amazing always asking if we needed anything a really lovely couple. We we taken around the farm and more. One of the best cottages we have been to yet. Wales is amazing beautiful sites. We will definitely be visiting The Old Cart House again. What a beautiful house.

In the middle of rolling hills. Very peaceful and an excellent base to explore the Welsh Border and Shropshire. We also hired the hot tub which was great because there’s no light pollution in the sky and you can view the stars at night. The cottage is very warm. The bed linen is white and crisp. Everything is to a high standard. Pete and Sarah are fabulous hosts, there if needed as live on the farm next door. The cottage has everything you need. It’s so spacious. I loved the week away. Will definitely return.

We don't think we have been anywhere before where the owner looks after you so well.

So overjoyed with how the entire stay went. It is literally impossible to find anything bad about this place and highly recommend to anyone. A wonderful property with amazing owners. Felt at home straight away. They made our 3 year old son feel so comfortable and even gave him some paw patrols toys their son didn't use anymore. Do not look anywhere else other than here. Absolutely perfect!!!

Very attentive and caring owners who just add to the experience. Nestled in beautiful surroundings, sit back and relax in the hot tub overlooking fields. Lots of activities to do nearby, but car is needed. Great local pub with amazing food.

Their cottage is extremely well equiped, lovely bed linen and fluffy towels, set in beautiful countryside. The surrounding area offers places to visit without too much travelling. Anyone who loves nature/the countryside "The Old Cart House" is the place to stay.

We enjoyed our tour of the farm and nothing was too much trouble for Sarah and Pete, who are obviously proud of the stunning holiday home they have built. The couple that run this are lovely, they couldn't do enough for us and made our stay even better. It is good having two bathrooms and the large living, kitchen diner as well as the outdoor seating and table area. There is also plenty of room for parking for several cars. The cottage was in a remote area reached by single track roads.

This suited us very well because we like the quietness of the countryside. The cottage was probably the most comfortable and well equipped out of all those that we have visited. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The farmer took us on an escorted tour of the farm and its land - an unexpected bonus. We will recommend this property to our friends without hesitation.

Beautifully presented and clean, this place is a real home from home and we are missing it now we are back.

Every thought has been put into making it a comfortable and relaxing stay. My two boys loved it there, between the tractors and the animals their time there was pretty special. The large outdoor area is secure and perfect for those inquisitive little people who love to be on the move. Theres also a mound of places to visit; two great lakes to canoe on, nature reserves and National Trust sites all in easy reach. However my boys couldnt wait to return to their new home each day and Sarah, Peter and Owen all made us feel so welcome. A holiday to remember.

We have had a fantastic holiday in The Old Cart House.

What an excellent place! The house is well thought through and luxurious, it exceeded our expectations. The hosts Peter and Sarah were very friendly and allowed us to explore the farm and help to feed the lambs - our little boy loved the experience. The information provided in the house gave us an inspiration for our every day trips throughout the local area. We had a perfect time and would strongly recommend this place. It felt like second home to us.

This cottage was amazing.

It was exactly as it was advertised. The accommodation was amazing and very comfortable and it was very difficult to say goodbye to such a lovely place. There were also plenty room outside to park your car and although the cottage was on the grounds of the owner, you had plenty of privacy. The owners, Sarah and Pete and their son little Owen were amazing and so kind and friendly. They made me feel very comfortable and were very welcoming. As if this wasn’t enough, I even got the chance to spend a few days with the farm animals and met the sheep, newly born lamb, two cats and two dogs which were all very friendly. Spending time with the lamb was a really special time and I learnt so much from Sarah and Pete and also managed to bottle-feed the lamb. I had such a nice time and felt really relaxed after spending a week at this cottage. Thank you to Sarah and Pete for providing such a beautiful and comfortable accommodation in such a great setting. Shops and pub are within a short drive. I cannot recommend this cottage enough. I am looking to book this cottage again within the next few months. Thank you.
