  • "Despite the weather (rain, hail, snow, sun!"

), we had a glorious stay. The pros: stunning views, beautifully peaceful, a welcome pack that included treats for the dogs, separate towels for hot tub provided, the mattresses and bedding were high quality and so comfy, comfy furniture, decent glasses, dishwasher and washer/dryer with pods provided, hot tub was divine, good size entry mat for those muddy paws!, full smart TV, all fixtures and fittings were clearly well thought out and high quality, as it’s on the end nobody can see you in the hot tub. The cons: only 2 tea bags and 2 sachets of coffee provided (picky I know, but I’ve stayed at cheaper places that provide more), not suitable for all dogs - stock fencing to the side entrance would not be secure for small dogs (although you could easily put something across this), fencing height is very low (prob 3ft if that) and this means large dogs can see each other over the fence, it also means you can see the people next door if you’re in the garden - some bamboo screening between the properties would improve privacy (and maybe taller mesh/trellis on the other sides), most of the property was immaculate but the lamps were very dusty and the extractor fan a little greasy. Finally, an info pack would really help - little things like rules for dogs, how to operate hot tub/heating, places close by that dogs can be walked, what to do with dirty laundry at the end of the stay and recycling/rubbish. Overall a fabulous, relaxing stay and we would come back with the dogs as Elan Valley Welsh has the best position.

The property had everything we would have wished for. Great TV signal and Wifi, and the hot tub was a great way to unwind at the end of the day. Watching the Red Kites swooping around looking for food was amazing. The standard of fittings at the property was first class. We will be back again in the near future.

  • "The lodge was beautiful and had everything we could need!"

The bed was so comfy and the hot tub was such a lovely addition to watch the sunrise and sunset. The only thing that we wish we had was a mop as Reggie loved the garden but would run in with muddy paws and we felt awful being able to clean it. Other than that the property is perfect and we can’t wait to come back.

Thank you for your review. We have added a mop to the lodge Property Owner

  • "We booked this property very much as a last-minute 3-night getaway – what an excellent decision!"

! The property was clean, and well-appointed, and within minutes of our arrival we were in the hot tub. Three nights of luxury followed, including lots of hot tub time and a great Sunday dinner at the local pub, and a lovely walk up to the reservoir and the dams. The owners were lovely, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and our stay a memorable and enjoyable time. The property itself is warm, stunningly beautiful and very well appointed with everything needed for a cosy stay. The highlight of our stay was to watch a beautiful Red Kite fly low and very close to the fence line looking for pray whilst we relaxed in the hot tub.

Amazing location surrounded by cows and sheep, and a lovely owner. We have had a wonderful time staying at this lodge. Relaxing in the hot tub after long days of walking to see the whole nights sky lit up with stars was relaxing to say the least. Really is the perfect location for exploring and stargazing. We saw the most magical thunderstorm on our final night after two hot days. The owner even recommended that we visited Elan Valley Damns which we did and it was worth it!! The owner went above and beyond! Thank you for our amazing stay!

A bright and airy but cosy if needed (we did) place to stop and “get off the world” for a week really allowing us all to take in the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding views. The temperamental weather across the entire week did not stop us from creating memories and coming back to the warm hot tub created the perfect ambience after hours of walking. A different kind of holiday for us as a family with our Husky x Akita but one we have all thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your cosy, modern relaxing sanctuary, for all the small touches you thought of for both the adults, kids and our family dog! Making your place dog friendly allowed us to experience your beautiful space and location with our entire family!

From the minute you step inside to the minute you leave it’s the embodiment of relaxation. The lodge is high spec and has everything you would need and of course, the hot tub is the icing on the cake. Didn’t want to leave. Sally and Eddie whom own the lodge were so kind and welcoming and made the stay that bit more special. Thank you from us 3 and 2 very happy dogs!

  • "This has truly been a most wonderful stay."

The location is breathtaking. The facilities are outstanding - they have thought of everything to make a stay feel like a home from home. The decor is contemporary and chic, enough to make you want to move in forever! We arrived as a family of 4 (with two kids age 7 and 4) and we all had a superb time! The outside enclosed access meant that they could run around and let off steam. The hot tub was also an added bonus and well received after a long day around the Elan Valley. The location is perfect for exploring the sites of Mid Wales - a perfectly positioned base to discover the views and explore what Wales has to offer! Local 5 min drive to Tesco's to get supplies was fab and Llandrindod offers a quaint charm with lots of activities to offer families. We will be back and next time will book for longer to make the most of it! Diolch yn fawr Sheepfold, we had a magical time! See you soon!

    Thank you Property Owner

A beautifully maintained lodge that was totally immaculate and welcoming ready for our arrival. All the facilities that we needed for a 2 night break away without our husbands and children ☺️ Tesco’s is a short drive away, so we could get what we needed and the welcome pack of crisps, waffles and prosecco waiting for us from the owners we found a lovely touch. There is also a few little pots of milk in the fridge. The tea, coffee and sachets of sugar will also tide you over until you can get to do a grocery shop. We found the Munchala app was needed to order a takeaway from the local Indian (Similar to Uber Eats!) and delivery was with us in the hour. The owner popped up during our stay to ask if all was well and could he help at all ~ Again, another lovely touch! ~ and could they improve in any way. The only thing we could think of was a mirror in the bedroom… but that is something really minor and we all managed without ok with mirrors that we had brought with us and the one in the bathroom There’s free Wi~Fi available in the lodge and from there you’re able to check what’s local to you. All in all, a really lovely, stylish and spotlessly clean accommodation that we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone wanting to explore the local area, or that wants a little R&R! • "What a wonderful place!"

Lucky enough to visit within the first few months so the place was like new. Although with the lovely families dedication to the place, I can absolutely imagine it’ll stay this way for years to come. The place is beautifully designed and really feels like a special place to have a break. Attention to detail is super obvious, from the plush beds and bed linens to the fancy shower and well equipped kitchen. Nice to not need to take the little things you forget, boring dishwasher tables and salt & pepper things. A huge garden with views to just watch for hours from the lovely garden furniture or hot tub. Our dog enjoyed it too, he was a very relaxed boy with lots of space to wander about and snooze in. No criticisms at all! Apart from maybe needing a washing line for the wet costumes once you’ve tumbled out the hot tub for the 17th time, but that’s a minor detail. A few things if taking pooches but again no criticism to place - gardens huge but fences are low to not hinder view! Be prepared for welcomed faces over fences to yours or your pooch to be nosing at neighbours. Could be a problem if your dog is a little reactive to other stuff going on. Although we were next to dog people too so all fun and not serious! There also aren’t any quick dog walks directly from cottage so a bit of a research before hand id recommend. Also, it’s no lie, there’s sheep everywhere! Hope you stay here, can’t recommend enough. Lauren, India, Alison, Lewis & River the Vizsla

Our only gripe was we wish we’d researched the area as there didn’t seem to be much around cafe/restaurant wise, however the stay was that comfortable we really enjoyed cooking and enjoying the peace and quiet before going back to the madness of kids and married life, would definitely consider coming back once the weather gets warmer and would definitely recommend.
