Step down into an inviting dining room enhanced by a wood burning stove and an elegant dining table to gather the group around.
Another couple of steps down takes you into a wonderfully relaxing sitting room fit with tremendous wooden beams, plenty of cosy seating, another wood burner and a Smart TV, what more could you need to relax at the end of a tiring day?
A light and airy conservatory completes the ground floor.
Lower Hodre's first floor is accessed up two separate staircases - one side leads to a delightful family wing boasting a comfortable double bed which leads onto a single room, both have use of an immaculate en-suite shower room.
An alternative staircase presents you with three more delightfully furnished bedrooms, one twin bedded room complete with en-suite shower room, one double room and one more twin-bedded room.
The floor also hosts a large family bathroom.
The exterior of the property is just as relaxing as the interior as it comes with a lawn, a patio and a covered hot tub area all in full view of some of the finest rural vistas that you could wish for.
Lower Hodre is a unique, period property placed excellently for a family break in Shropshire.

Lower Hodre, was very disappointing.
When we arrived, we noticed. One of the bins had rubbish in it still. There were a pair of socks left in a chest draws. The day before we travelled, Emma sent me a message to ask if we were using the hot tub. I replied that we were (one of the reasons we booked the property), her reply was it would be filled and turned on that afternoon. When we arrived, the hot tub temperature was 27c, so unable to use the hot tub the first night. Yes, it is a 17th century farmhouse and the house was as expected, ie, lovely beamed rooms and very uneven floors and a few “mind your head” places, but with the addition of handles to help. There were various problems, the 2 settees and armchairs, in the lounge could do with replacing, we sat in them and it felt like the springs had disappeared, so was sitting very low, the 2 armchairs were nearly as bad. We used the cushions from the conservatory chairs to boost the seat on all the seats. If sitting in the lounge, watching the TV was practically impossible due to the beams obscuring the tv screen. The conservatory, we did not use as it was not very inviting, no patio to walk out on to, just earth (maybe grass if not in drought), and weeds all around. The kitchen utensils looked well used, and the frying pans were very, very old, definitely need replacing, along with the toaster, which cooked the bread but did not pop-up when done. The kettle had seen better days. The window for filling, was black with whatever and it was hard to see when the kettle was full. Upstairs, there were no wardrobes in any of the rooms, but some could have accommodated one. The hanging space provided was inadequate, in each room were 4 hooks attached to the wall, with just 2 coat hangers, not even a rail to hang clothes, anywhere. In one of the double bedrooms, the chest of draws had handles missing, which made it hard to open the draws, but the handles were inside the top draw. The windows in one of the en-suites did not open and there was not an extractor fan in there. On a good point, the hot tub seating 6, when at temperature was excellent. Views from the hot tub were great.
Beautiful house in a beautiful location.
Perfectly accommodated 8 adults. We booked because of previous 5 star reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We’ve enjoyed a week here. Perfect if you are seeking peace and tranquility.
A lovely homely place with everything you need for a great stay.
Comfortably housed all 9 of us and the dog - and the hot tub was fabulous! Very quiet area so perfect for a getaway. The host was great and very quick to respond to queries, and handy they are so close by.
