The Wynnstead Annexe

We love the apartment it was very clean and well laid out.

All the appliances work well and very clean. The only bit of grip was the Internet not very good but think that was down to the aera. We like being in the center of things lots of places to see within half an hour. We loved the gardens in Oswestry and Shewberry in the quarry, well worth a visit take a picnic and relax.

This is an ideal place for a couple.

It was our second visit in a year and we were equally pleased the second time. Mrs Evans keeps the place spotless and it has everything you could need. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, provided they can manage the outside stairs. It is a good base for exploring some lesser-known parts of the Wales/England border.

Another wonderful visit, Kath and Allan were great hosts and very helpful.

Great walking area, along the canals and close to Wales with 4 National Trust properties close by, also about 45 minutes from Ironbridge.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Wynnstead Annexe and are hoping to go again.

It's one of the best places we have ever stayed. Also it's an ideal place for a few days away with plenty to see and do in the area.

Very well equipped, and presented to a high standard, with quality items throughout.

Welcome basket of cakes and wine, brilliant. Internet very slow, but metal fan in front of modem was interfering with signal!, once removed speed was excellent. One of the best properties we have stayed at.

The Annex was very clean and extremely well equipped.

It provided a very good base for visiting friends and the local area. The owners were friendly and very helpful but not intrusive. We would certainly stay there again when we want to return to the area.

The property is beautifully maintained and the owner has thought of everything to make a stay there comfortable.

We so appreciated the welcome pack as after a long car journey the chance to have a drink and snack as soon as we arrived was brilliant. We would definitely stay here again if possible.

The accommodation is exactly as listed, very comfortable with quality fixtures and fittings.

The Annexe is a great place for two!

It was so comfortable and had the best equipped kitchen in any holiday cottage we've stayed in - even had a set of kitchen scales! Being tall we were very conscious of the sloping ceilings but they didn't cause us any problems. Great location, great pub just a 5 minute walk away - although it's closed Monday and Tuesday. Hoping to go again and would thoroughly recommend.

A very well presented property.

Very clean, very comfortable, very well equipped and located in an interesting and picturesque part of the country. Not long after our arrival the owners introduced themselves to us and offered to answer any questions that we had regarding both the accommodation and the general area. As it happens, they had provided just about all of the information we were likely to need within the property. They recommended us to the local village pub "The Queens Head'. We discovered that to be a good choice. Indeed we ate there three evenings and found it to be both friendly and good value for money. We have no hesitation in recommending The Wynnstead Annexe as being an excellent place to stay for a UK break. Clive & Marilyn.

Absolutely fantastic property we could not fault it, it was clean had everything you needed and more.

THE PROPERTY IS VERY GOOD RIGHT PLACE TO VISIT IN SHROPSHIRE AREA AND PART OF WALES

Two excellent pubs within walking distance one of which a much underated Punch bowl inn fantastic value.

We also walked to the ironworks-amazing place. The property was excellent the only fault may have been Sykes oversight in not informing guests about the building site next door. In fact once the final house progresses beyond its foundations the holiday property will be overlooked both in kitchen and bathroom. Privacy at the annexe will disappear.

Terrific holiday let we have been before and hopefully will go again.

The cottage is ideally placed for great walking and visiting the local area Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Oswestry and Wales. A great welcome pack was provided by the owners and even a couple of Easter eggs. The cottage has all the amenities that you would need and everything is there for you to have a great holiday. The Queens Head is very good for a meal/drink and the bus to Shrewsbury/Oswestry runs every 30 minutes. If you like walking Oswalds Trail in Oswestry or walking along the canal to LLanymynech and back are both around 14/15 miles in distance.

The cottage is well situated for visiting the surrounding area and some great walks nearby.

This property is lovely, it is spacious, furnished to a high quality, with a well-equipped kitchen and a great shower.

Private parking is a plus, and there was a lovely welcome pack awaiting us on arrival. The Queens Head pub at the end of the road is superb, fantastic food, wines and ale. Location is excellent for canal walks, and the Ironworks Sculpture Park is a mile away. Easy access to North Wales too. We would highly recommend this place.

We have stayed in many places, and this was the best.

The apartment is top quality and has everything you could wish for. You do need a car to get around, but 2 pubs are within walking distance. A big thank you to the owners :-)

We were very comfortable here, and the generous basket of goodies provided by the owner was especially welcome. The nearby pub was also very good, and we would not hesitate to stay in this cottage again.

Excellent, very comfortable accommodation, very well equipped, in a very quiet area, yet close to many enjoyable places to visit.

Therefore we can highly recommend it and would stay there again if we go back to that part of the country.

We had a lovely week long stay at the Wynnstead Annexe.

The accommodation was spotless, comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed for a home from home holiday. The hosts were helpful but left us to enjoy our stay (making sure we knew they were on hand for any queries/issues) and we thought the location was perfect for exploring a part of the country we hadn’t visited before. There is a pub within walking distance as well as a nice walk along the canal path. There are several supermarkets in Oswestry which is just a short drive away. During our stay we visited various places - For walking I would highly recommend Oswald’s Trail, Stiperstones and Llanymynech Rocks (park near the pub DO NOT FOLLOW THE SAT NAV!) and Shrewsbury was a lovely town to visit. We would highly recommend the Wynnstead Annexe if you want a comfortable base to enjoy your holiday in Shropshire.

The annexe was spotless and had everything you needed.

Excellent walks from the doorstep including canal walks. I would certainly recommend this property.

The property is up some quite steep steps, which are open slats.

.. maybe not suitable for elderly guests, also some large gates to open and close to get on and off the drive, which again, may not suit elderly visitors. This was the only issue... the flat was very clean and comfortable, and convenient for Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Whittington.

The Annex is an extremely good base for exploring an area that has far more to offer than we expected.

Apart from the National Trust properties there are beautiful canal walks with some spectacular engineering features. One of the best holiday properties we have found.

.....so clean & fresh. Kath & Allan had thought of everything & provided many extras. They are excellent 'hosts'. Location very good for nearby visits (including National Trust properties) short journey into Wales for more interesting attractions. Queen's Head is approx 5 minutes walk, welcoming pub with very good food. Choice of supermarkets in Oswestry for groceries. Definitely hope to return. Thank you.

The flat felt like a real home not just a place to sleep for a week.

Stayed with my husband and dog for a week.

Great location. National Trust properties within half hour drive. Loads of places to visit. Pub within 5 minute walking distance with fabulous food. 10 minute walk to a very good shop which has fresh bread in daily. Lovely clean and modern accommodation. On my list to return. 10 out of 10.

This apartment was excellent with friendly owners and good walks and a decent eatery just near by.

We would certainly recommend the area as most attractive and interesting especially to National Trust devotees.
