  • "Angorfa is a lovely house with everything needed away from home, we enjoyed our stay."

Plenty of room for the whole family to have their space. Super comfortable beds. Evening dinners around the huge dining table, cosy evenings in the lounge. Weather wasn’t kind to us, the bonus having a pub and a shop on the doorstep and Barmouth and Porthmadog in short driving distance makes Angorfa a great location.

  • "Had quite a shock at just how big the house is!"

Reminded us of an old school house with the hall bench, bell, and under stairs cupboard. The house surprisingly kept so warm with thick stone walls. We had everything we needed for 3 days. Plenty of kitchen utensils, crockery, glasses, a handy utility for longer stays. All the beds were comfortable, and clean modern bathrooms, although the top bathroom shower does lose a little heat, but it is at the top of a 3 storey house. Fabulous large mirror on the top landing. Hairdryer also. It is great that the property is dog friendly, but would have been even better if allowed upstairs to the second floor at least, as our dog is like our shadow and likes to be part of the family, so that was a bit awkward for us. Being as there is only a back courtyard we walked our dog a lot to do his business. Great having the car park outside the back gate too. A wall clock in the bedrooms would have been handy and maybe a couple more tea towels as we didn’t use the dishwasher. I would definitely recommend staying at Angorfa in a lovely small Welsh village with plenty of amenities if you are after a large house with plenty of space for families. Thank You.

  • "Had a great stay at Angorfa (our second visit) in Llanbedr."

Perfect location in the heart of the village, right by a pub (great food and outdoor play area), 2 restaurants, a cafe and small shop. Parking (free) is plentiful at the rear of the house. The house itself has plenty of room for a large family (we were 6 adults, 2 kids). The house is comfortable and well equipped, the kitchen and 2 bathrooms are modern. The only suggestion I’d make is that the courtyard could do with a jetwash - this is a minor point and didn’t spoil our enjoyment of our holiday. I’d recommend this property and we will hopefully stay there again in the future.

The property is in a great location to enjoy the beautiful surrounding areas. The house is well equipped with everything you would need. Beds are comfy and the property was lovely and clean. As a dog friendly property it would be great to see dogs being allowed upstairs into the main living area. Downstairs isn’t as comfy as it could be when you are spending lots of time downstairs. If the property is to remain whereby dogs are to stay on the ground floor, it would be nice to have some comfier seating in the dining area. It would also be beneficial to have more stair gates available when staying with a toddler - definitely on the first floor where the living room is. We would have no hesitation in returning to Angorfa in the future.

Perfect location for walks and as a base. Great to have a utility as well and kept all the messy shoes in there. Bedrooms a great size and plenty of storage as well for clothes. • "6 of us stayed at Angorfa along with our Border Collie Wilf."

A superb property in a lovely location. Everything you would need for your stay is there. A well equipped kitchen with all the necessary cooking aids, dishwasher, easy to operate oven and cooker and a nice central food prep area. A massive dining table that seats 8 is next door with a lovely fire place and window seat. Up on the first floor past a bathroom is bedroom 1 (a double) and a large comfortable tastefully decorated living room. Up again past another bathroom on the second floor is a double, a twin and another with a bunk bed. All beds very comfortable and everyone had a good nights sleep. The only thing I would say is that pets have to stay on the ground floor and are not allowed upstairs which can be a bit of a problem when everyone is upstairs in the living room in the evening. Our Wilf is used to being with us so someone had to stay downstairs with him. A local pub which is very nice and friendly with good food and dogs are welcome. Another hotel up the road again, very nice and dogs welcome. Angorfa is situated in Snowdonia but be prepared for quite a bit of driving if you're visiting a lot of the attractions nearby. It's around an hour to Conway to give you a rough idea. The roads around the area are in great condition though and the views when you get nearer Snowdon itself are stunning. Overall I would thoroughly recommend Angorfa and give it 9 out of 10 (doggies downstairs losing 1 point).

Spacious and extremely comfortable dining and living rooms with very high quality furnishings gave us plenty of space to relax. The whole property is beautifully appointed with tasteful decorations, and is in the perfect location for everything you might want to do in Snowdonia. A very useful shop and café just across the road, ample easy parking (supposedly it’s the pub car park, but it seems to be the general village car park) and everything you could ask for in a holiday home. We would love to visit again. All we could have asked for is for slightly more crockery in the kitchen so we didn’t have to wash up so frequently, and some oven gloves!

Quaint towns such as that of Portmerion is nearby. Great location. There's even a nice pub by a stream, with a lawn and playground right next door. THe house itself was lovely. It had everything that we needed. Each room was well dressed. Lovely laid out bedrooms. Spacious lounge and a large table for our family dinners. The kids room also had toys and books for our toddlers. On top of it, the owner was very trustworth. My dad left his bag there, realising after a 6 hour drive that he left it. The house is well placed to explore the area. There's a little shop across the street, and a great friendly pub serving delicious meals, two minutes away. A big car park is immediately behind the property's flagged garden. Shortly after arriving at Angorfa, I received a message from the owner, asking if everything was ok, which was nice. It totally exceeded our expectations and the photos do not do it justice. The holiday home has everything you could possibly need for a holiday and it is so beautiful. The location is amazing so close to the waterfalls and just a short drive away from Barmouth and Harlech . There is a shop, pub, restaurant and cafe within walking distance. A trip to shell island is a must. We will be booking again for next year and highly recommend this holiday home to all wishing to visit the beautiful country of wales.

A beautifully styled interior blends traditional features with modern and contemporary, well-appointed décor throughout with neutral tones and an earthy fusion of autumnal shades and lovely co-ordinating fabrics.

Angorfa really is a lovely property and a perfect base, absolutely ideal for a family, couples or friends.

When entering you are immediately drawn to the sense of how spacious Angorfa is, very well proportioned with high ceilings and lots of natural light floods in through the bay windows in the two principle rooms.

The upper floors are accessed via a wonderful pitch pine staircase where guests will find two stylish and well-appointed bedrooms, each with a TV, you'll also find a twin room and a room with adult size bunk beds, across the first and second floors, along with a spacious, modern family bathroom and a wonderful separate shower room with walk-in shower.

Each is located on a split-level landing off each floor.

A first floor sitting room is the ideal place to sit as a family or group and relax and unwind together after a great day out, and a warming electric woodburner-effect stove is great for those cooler evenings.

The ground floor kitchen has an attractive redbrick inglenook fireplace which is a lovely feature and really compliments the modern fitted kitchen, which caters for all your needs.

Double doors open to a spacious dining room with a large 8 seater dining table, great for family meals together, and the lovely bay window, plus another electric woodburner-effect stove finishes the room off nicely.

Outside, there is a rear enclosed courtyard with table and chairs, you can enjoy alfresco dining or just relax with a chilled glass of wine in the evening when the courtyard enjoys a sunny aspect.

The pretty village of Llanbedr has two great pubs serving good food, a village shop and a charming tea room.

About the location

Harlech 3 miles; Barmouth 8 miles.

The pretty village of Llanbedr quietly nestles in ancient woodland between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Situated next to the beautiful River Artro, and boasting a mild climate due to its unusual positioning behind the high dunes of a nature reserve, this charming village has an exciting array of wildlife and birds, handy local shops, bike hire and mountain walks on your doorstep, as well as two excellent pubs. The small town of Harlech is just 3 miles away and boasts the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, a majestic 13th century stronghold, the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants and the most magnificent six-mile long sandy beach, perfect for wonderful walks and family fun. Nearby Barmouth offers the amazing Panorama Walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, providing breathtaking vistas, which were described by John Ruskin as “the most sublime view in Europe” and also a harbour from which you can catch a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway, or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing. With the delights of Snowdonia National Park and beautiful Cardigan Bay to discover, this is a fantastic holiday location at any time of the year.
