"Caban Dulas was super easy to locate & to check in."
Upon arrival we found the keys in the door with a welcome pack, with some information about local pubs, house rules & where to visit / go. We were a little.. disappointed when we couldn’t find tea spoons and realised the dishwasher hadn’t been unloaded, so we did that (stated in rules about cleaning everything and putting all back before check out, so was unsure if the place maybe hadn’t been fully checked over.) and looked in the fridge to find some milk, that expired the day before the end of our 3 night trip. On top of that, the fridge wasn’t very cold at all, so we had to figure out how to turn the temp down as the milk felt room temp as did the fridge itself.
The hot tub was absolutely perfect, clean, great temp, only downside is one of our days was raining and there’s no cover, so didn’t use it this day.
The patio has a no fowling sign up, which I’d assume is just regarding the patio, and the outside had a smoking box (although cabin states no smoking?), the furniture unfortunately wasn’t very clean, with old dry bird poop on, and no outdoor cushions for the wooden chairs making them rather uncomfortable to sit on.
We had dogs with us, so followed rules on no pets on furniture etc, which wasn’t a problem, and cleaned up all poop. But what it doesn’t mention is that right by your fence there’s a field full of sheep. One of our dogs being obsessed with sheep and livestock meant we couldn’t take our eyes off the dogs as the fence was low, had gaps, bits missing and dips underneath. It wasn’t the end of the world but not an ideal case for us sadly; we had seen cheaper places to stay with hot tubs but opted against due to being right by fields of sheep etc, knowing how our dogs can be around livestock.
The second bedroom wasn’t made up, which luckily we were a couple staying here, but if we hadn’t been it would’ve been a bit irritating. The main beds sheets also didn’t fit the mattress properly, which I thought was a bit silly. The bed itself is very comfy, it’s just a shame all those little things about this place don’t make it feel like the cost is worth it. We’ve been to several types of airbnbs and felt being a farm, with countryside and beautiful views, it’d make more sense to use local produce for the welcome bits / milk, not Tesco stuff, and these issues around the property like broken fence, fire pit with logs but no matches, bed sheets not fitting correctly, only 1 towel per person for the hot tub & shower etc would not be the way they are. Hopefully there will be a little more thought and “lux” for the price per night in the future.
We did enjoy our stay, it’s just a shame these little issues make it feel kind of cheap when it’s not a cheap getaway

"We paid £630 for a 3 day stay and feel like it wasn’t worth it."
Upon arrival the place smelt like cigarette smoke. We turned on the ceiling fans but one of them was broken.
The hot tub was nice but the side of the steps fell off which exposed 2 very rusty and dangerous nails.
The toilet roll holder in the on suite was broken and the job light didn't work. Minor things but on top of the other issues it’s quite frustrating.
On the second day the hot water went out so we had to have a freezing cold shower after the hot tub and then again in the morning.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here and I’m really considering asking for a partial refund because of the experience.

"When we arrived at the cabin, there was already someone else there."
I managed to track someone down & was told that another customer had been allocated our cabin as their cabin had not been ready. We were put into a cabin that was not dog friendly & then the next day, they decided to move us back to our booked cabin so had to pack everything up & move again. I looked at many properties before booking as I wanted somewhere where we could relax with our doggies and walk them onsite. On asking, we were
told that it wasn't really suitable to walk our dogs in the surrounding fields
as they did not want to disturb the sheep. I stated that it said in the advert that you were welcome to walk your dogs in the owners fields but he stated
that was not correct and it shouldn't have said that. So, we had to drive out
each day to find somewhere suitable to walk the dogs which was not what
we had expected. I don't think the cabin should be advertised as dog
friendly. Some of the outside fencing was in need of repair and there was a
lot of bird poo on the outside seating areas which could easily have been
cleaned up. Inside was mainly ok. Only provided with 1 smallish towel each
which wasn't really sufficient for daily showering and use of hot tub. There
was a small welcome pack left but, considering they were aware that we
were a couple, there was just 1 bottle of drink & 1 bag of crisps in the pack.
Overall, everything was ok but a bit more thought could have gone into
things to make things better for the guests.

"This was an amazing place for a peaceful break away."
Welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the cabin had everything we needed. The views from the hottub were beautiful too. Had issues getting anything but bbc channels on the tv but was a great excuse to unplug from technology. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quiet, rural staycation.

"We had a wonderful stay so quiet and peaceful and not overlooked by other cabins, all facilities great except you definitely need to double up on kitchen crockery and cutlery, so you can have 2 meals without washing up."
We had an amazing trip and walk around the Elan Valley. Great for the 2 dogs too, will definitely return. There is a bees nest on the overhang which needs sorting out!

"We recently stayed at this log cabin and overall had a pleasant visit."
The cabin itself is clean and set in a peaceful rural location. It was especially lovely watching the sheep in the surrounding field, which really added to the charm of the place.
That said, there are a few things future guests might want to be aware of. While the garden is enclosed, it may not be secure enough for smaller dogs—there are gaps in the fencing that would benefit from some maintenance. It’s also important to know that dogs are not allowed to be walked anywhere on site, which isn’t made clear in the listing and could be inconvenient for dog owners.
Upon arrival, we were met with swarms of what we initially thought were wasps. We contacted Claire, who responded quickly to say pest control would be contacted but as soon as we asked if there was another cabin we could use for the night whilst waiting for pest control we told they were masonry bees, harmless, and that there was no other dog-friendly accommodation available and pest control were no longer coming. The communication, in my opinion, came across as blunt and unhelpful. We were away celebrating my partner’s birthday, so we made the most of it, but the bees were definitely a nuisance. If you’re considering booking during masonry bee nesting season, be mindful of the potential impact, as this happens every year apparently, as it can disrupt your ability to relax and enjoy the garden, especially if you need shade during the hot weather!
With a few improvements and clearer information for guests, this could be a fantastic place for a peaceful countryside escape.

"We arrived and noticed there were bees absolutely everywhere, when our son is petrified."
Took the dog to the garden and couldn’t take her off the lead as there is holes missing out of the fence and she would have escaped. When we went in my son went to go to the toilet and came running out as it was in a right mess, and seeping up to the toilet seat!! Had to call the owners. Had a nice night in the hottub then was kept up untill about 4am as the boiler kept topping up right out side the bedroom! Had to call the owner again!! When you’ve booked a relaxing 2-3 day get away, it’s not what you want.

"The most beautiful cabin for a quick staycation."
I didn't want to part with the hot tub. The views from the garden are incredible. The owners have done an excellent job doggy proofing the garden however my small Yorkshire Terrier did find some holes he could squeeze through underneath. It would be nice if the bottom of the fence had a board around it for the persistent Houdini hounds, especially as the sheep in the fields come right up to the fence to say hello. The little hamper was a lovely touch and the treats were very much appreciated by my little dog. We're already planning our return trip!

"We've just come back from a lovely chilled weekend with my husband, 2 boys and our dog."
This place is perfect. Everythin you could need is there. Beds are the comfiest I've ever slept on. Brilliant size place. Kids absolutely loved it too! The perimiter fencing is great for keeping dogs in. Lying in the hot tub at night looking at the stars and watching the red kite birds in the day was just lovely. While here I wa looking for when we could re-book we loved it so much. Only very tiny thing we thought of was the slabs/hot tub steps could do with a jet wash but our slabs at home ar like this due to the winter dampness they get slippy. Will defo be back if we can find a weekend as cheap as this one. I've already recommended to friends. Thank you so much!
