Description
Dolgellau 8.5 miles.
Ysgubor is a charming farmhouse situated on a 500-acre hill working organic farm in Dinas Mawddwy, Gwynedd.
This property boasts three woodburning stoves, a hot tub, a games room, and ground-floor living – with off-road parking for seven cars, Ysgubor is idyllic for a large family and three dutiful dogs.
Step into your new haven, complete with original features, oak beams, and exposed stonework throughout.
A woodburning stove waits ready in the kitchen/diner, dining room, and games room to toast the warmth back into your well-trekked toes, while a scrumptious supper is cooked from the double range electric oven and hob, microwave, and two fridge/freezers.
Enjoy in a rustic dining room or, when the sun follows you home, whip up a culinary creation on the barbecue and dine alfresco in the garden.
When the evening chill starts to nip, hop in the hot tub and watch the sun sink into the mountains.
Curl up in the snug or settle into the sitting room with a film on the Smart TV, then challenge your loved ones to a round of pool in the games room.
Rinse off the day’s medals of mud in one of three bathrooms or the ground-floor shower room, as the dishwasher and washing machine take care of your plates and laundry.
Welcome the night in a four-poster, king-size, double, or single bed, and drift off to a window-framed view of tomorrow’s adventures.
Roll out of bed and into your hiking boots to explore Snowdonia National Park and take advantage of access to the owner’s private mountains, Graig Wen and Gribyn, both over 2000 feet, then grab a much-earned bite at The Buckley Arms – just over a mile from your property!
Venture a little further afield to Barmouth to indulge in a beach day at Barmouth Beach, stroll the scenic Panorama Walk, and catch a show at the Dragon Theatre.
Take that short drive to Aberystwyth to treat the history buff to Pen Dinas Hill Fort and the Amgueddfa Ceredigion Museum, then admire the beautiful art at Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
Welsh adventures are never far when you book a stay at Ysgubor.

What guests are saying
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely holiday home in Wales.
Chris, the owner, was so welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The house was spotlessly clean, spacious and cosy, with everything we needed for a really enjoyable stay. The surrounding area was beautiful, making it a perfect place to relax and unwind. A particularly lovely touch was the homemade cake Chris had left for us. It was absolutely delicious and such a thoughtful gesture, especially as one member of our group is coeliac and another has a dairy allergy. It was very much appreciated and made us feel really considered as guests. Chris, if you happen to read this, I would absolutely love the recipe for that cake!
We stayed at Ysgubor Cottage from Friday to Monday with a group of 10 of us, mainly to enjoy some quality time together and climb Snowdon.
Overall, the accommodation was excellent and had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The hot tub was a fantastic bonus and was especially welcome after a long day climbing Snowdon! Chris was a wonderful host friendly, helpful, and always happy to assist. The delicious lemon cake he baked for us was a lovely touch, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Whenever we were unsure how to operate anything, Chris was more than happy to pop over and show us how everything worked. His helpfulness and hospitality really made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a fantastic time at Ysgubor Cottage and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in the Snowdonia area. Thank you, Chris, for making our trip so memorable!
1st impressions very nice house big enough for what we needed until we went to put the shopping away one fridge didn't work properly.
... then at bedtime NO ONE had a restful night as the beds were so uncomfortable mine and my wife's was so uncomfortable we ended up sleeping on the sofas.. it would be a five star property if it wasn't for those issues and need some TLC here and there... pool table and dartboard was a bonus as it kept the kids occupied in the evening.. recommend using the hot tub now it's fixed... location wise it's FANTASTIC the views are out of this world plus front seat view of the jets flying through..
