  • "Lovely cottage, fitted out and furnished to a very high standard."

Only note of caution the stairs are steep and may be not suitable for young children or those with mobility issues, although we're not the youngest and managed OK. Great location for touring around North Shropshire and surrounding areas. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area.

In your write up there was a mention of washing machine and also pictures obvious kitchen has been changed so photos and information need up dating

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I have been requesting updates to my description since June 2021, unfortunately this is not something I am able to change myself. However, I'd hope that the new kitchen, and introduction of a back door on to a new patio area, provide improvements to the property. Regrettably the washing machine didn't fit in the new kitchen (I also requested this to be removed from my property details last year). However, as it happens, the washing machine is actually being reinstalled this week, in it's new location under the stairs. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and really nice owners."

The cottage has been refurbished in such a way as to not diminish its character but has everything you need. We came to Rectory Cottage to get the pets (and ourselves) away from excessive fireworks that plague where we live and it was a real success - a peaceful comfortable week where we had good weather and got to enjoy some lovely walks with the dogs. All in all, a great stay - thanks

  • "A very nice little cottage."

we were greeted by the owner, who then left us to it (which we much prefer). Unfortunately, it didn’t stop raining all weekend, so it was difficult to appreciate the abundance of walks directly from the cottage. our only criticism would be a better range of cooking equipment would go a long way.

  • "What a lovely cottage!"

Unexpected welcome pack was really great; fresh eggs, (from the owners hens), a crusty loaf, and milk etc. just what we needed before we could get to the shops.... and to top it off, prosecco in the fridge! The owner was very friendly and helpful. The cottage was beautifully decorated and fitted out. Very clean and comfortable. Such a great place for exploring the beautiful countryside and the many walks and attractions in the area. Highly recommend as we had such a great week here!!

  • "Great location, very quiet yet close to the A5 with easy access into North Wales, Chester or down to Shrewsbury, Severn Valley Railway etc."

Cottage in quiet courtyard in village, nice walks to nearby Montgommery canal and pubs within walking distance. Cottage clean and tidy, modern decor keeping original features. Modern, clean shower room and soft towels. Owners very friendly and helpful, giving advice on local area. Please note stairs to bedrooms quite steep for those with mobility difficulties and shower room/toilet is downstairs. No freezer compartment in fridge but small kitchen well equipped to make simple meals. Lovely place to stay.

  • "The accommodation was excellent as you see from my replies."

The owner, Jo, was extremely helpful. We took our dogs and they enjoyed their surroundings - Jo had even supplied a jar of dog biscuits! We enjoyed the surrounding area and were sorry to have had such a short stay. Also, the young lady at your office (Karen, I think) drew my attention to Rectory Cottage - I was looking for accommodation for two - and I would like to thank her for the recommendation.
