  • "Perfect and very romantic Pros: Beautiful cottage with lots of privacy."

Wonderful wood-burning stove with plenty of firewood. The cottage was also very well heated on the upper floor. The host was very friendly. The snack basket provided was also very thoughtful, especially the love spoons and their story behind them. The white bread was also very tasty. Everything was just right for our stay during Valentine's Day. The cottage was also perfect for my partner's dog. Cons: The kettle should be cleaned.

Thank you for you taking time to review your stay. We will of course review the kettle cleanliness. Apologies if it wasn’t as clean as it should be. We provide it as a reserve should there be an issue with the Quooker tap. We hope to see you again. Best Regards Mike & Alison Property Owner

  • "We had a gorgeous stay at Walnut Cottage with our golden retriever, Gwen."

The weather was very wet so we enjoyed a lazy few days in the cottage, enjoying the fire and the sound of (tawny?) owls from the woods. We managed a lovely canal walk and excellent roast at the recommended Goose and Cuckoo a few miles away. Bed was huge and comfy, great shower and everything was very clean. Even the glassware and crockery was nice quality - makes such a difference. The stone steps upstairs are quite uneven so probably best for fairly mobile visitors. Thanks for a great stay!

Hi Rowan Thank you for your review of your stay at Walnut cottage. We really appreciate you taking the time to comment. We think you are absolutely correct regarding the stairs which are a typical feature for a 16c cottage of the area and do indeed need a bit of care in negotiating! We hope to see you all again soon - hopefully when the weather is better. BR’s Mike and Alison Property Owner

  • "We had the most amazing and peaceful stay at Walnut Cottage."

The cottage itself was stunning, and the surrounding villages were absolutely lovely to explore. There were plenty of beautiful walks for our dog, and we made great use of the AllTrails app. Even on the days we didn’t venture far, the private woodland on the cottage grounds was perfect—our dog Max adored having the space to run freely. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating, welcoming us personally and showing us to our cottage. We’d love to return in the near future and bring our family so we can enjoy both cottages together. Thanks again, Mike and Alison x

Thank you Lewis, Chloe and of course Max. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It was great to have you as our first guests and we would be delighted to see you and your family for a stay in the future. BR’s Mike & Alison Property Owner
