  • "The Property was as described and has great views of the Norfolk Countryside."

Be aware, if you have Children, the Property is situated on the edge of a working Farm with Farm vehicles driving around the Property. The Property has all the amenities required. The seating is comfortable with Recliners. The Bedrooms were tidy and well kept. There were only three of us, so we were ok with One Bathroom (Shower only), but for Six, that may not be enough. The Kitchen was well layed out and had everything we needed. There is very good Broadband @ 30Mbps, good enough for Movies, TV Streaming, Music etc. We also had a 4G Phone signal at the property, which is rare so close to the Norfolk Coast. The welcome pack and guide are excellent. Bring your own Phone Charger and Cable, as the Chargers in the Lounge wouldn't charge my Phone. There were others in the Wardrobes that did work, so that wasn't a big issue. There are Hares on the property, which is great for the Children to see, but there is no direct path to the Bungalow, so you will need to remove your Shoes before entry, as there are droppings everywhere on the Grassy Meadow. Outside on the Patio, I guess being so close to Farm Fields, there are Hundreds of Ladybirds. Not a huge issue, but you have either a choice of closing the French Windows or allowing the Bugs in. It was extemly hot, so the Door had to be open. Unfortunately, the Ladybirds love the Colour of the Bungalow. At the property, it was very windy, so we had to brace the French Windows with a Box so that they would stay open. A small whinge, unfortunately, there were Boot marks on the floor at the entrance. Also, I had to sweep the floor, as Dust and Fluff was on the Floor in the Kitchen, Bedroom and Hallway. Getting to the property was easy, the SatNav for Cart Gap Beech worked well. We found that the best route in from the B1159 heading North is the North Walsham Road. Just before a Church ahead on the right, there is a Road Sign directing to the Wenn Evans Centre. Follow North Walsham Road through Happisburgh to the Right, don't turn off at the Wenn Evan Centre, keep following the Dual Lane Road through Happisburgh. After Happisburgh and the Light House on the left, you'll go through a few bends in the Road until you get to Cart Gap Road on the left. The Sign points to Eccles on Sea, Cart Gap Beach and the Lifeboat Station. You'll need to use the Passing Lanes, as the Road is a single lane Road. Doggetts Lane is on the left at the far end of the Lifeboat Station, before the Cart Gap Car Park on the right. If you need to use the Cart Gap Car Park, it's pay and display, but there is a Parking Operations App for that. The Car Park is free from 6pm until 8am. Not free for Blue Badge holders unfortunately. Dogget's Lane is a single Track Lane to the Property and is a very rough Gravel/Stone Lane, very bumpy with many Pot Holes, don't travel over 5mph or you'll damage your suspension on your Car. This Track only wide enough for a single Vehicle as the Hedgerow is not trimmed back. A Car and People walking will not fit. We had to wait for Pedestrians and Cyclists to find room to squeeze by. We were lucky not to meet other Vehicles as someone would have to reverse up the Lane if that situation occurred. There is a short Five minute walk to the left of the property for a great Cliff Top view of the Beach. The Beach is not accessable in that direction. To the right of the property, back along Doggett's Lane is a 10-15 minute walk to the Beach, which is fully accessable. There is a Cafe on Cart Gap Road, which served some tasty food and seems very popular. We stocked up with supplies at Walcott Stores, a 10 minute drive north back on the B1159. I'm not complaining, overall, we loved the property and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as we were well away from noise and Traffic. I'm just pointing out facts for others.

Thank you for your detailed review. We’re so pleased you enjoyed the peaceful setting, lovely views, and amenities the property offers. We appreciate your feedback regarding the access lane, charger issues, and cleanliness, and we’ll follow up to ensure these areas are improved. Thank you also for sharing helpful tips for future guests. We’re glad you had a great stay overall and hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

HAPPISBURGH, EAST ANGLIA

Norwich 19.3 miles; Great Yarmouth 22.5 miles

This historic village brushes the East Anglian coastline in the English county of Norfolk. Its lighthouse is the oldest working light in the area, as well as being the only independently run beacon in Great Britain, dating back to 1790. Its imposing tower of red and white stands proudly on the north-eastern headland surrounded by verdant countryside. You can visit this beautiful structure during public open days and climb the 112 steps up to the lantern. Another notable building in the village is St. Mary's Church, a 15th century landmark, whose tower warned mariners of the position of the perilous sandbanks nearby. This church also has set open days, where you can enjoy splendid views of the sea and enveloping fields from the top of the tower. Enjoy a picturesque stroll down to the beach and watch the lifeboats speedily tackle the untamed seas. There is also a village trail for you to amble, taking you past all the Happisburgh landmarks worth seeing. The village of Winterton-on-Sea is within easy reach by car and boasts a vast beach and wildlife-rich nature reserve that has attracted colonies of Terns and rare Natterjack toads. The old fishermen's cottages and village church makes it an idyllic location to bring the family for a day out. Further afield is the city of Norwich with its two cathedrals and Norman castle, whilst the popular seaside resort of Great Yarmouth offers one of Britain’s largest open air markets. A wonderful destination for your next holiday by the sea.
