Our 2nd stay Maybe a larger sofa or a foot stall but other than that ideal cosy cottage in a lovely village great comfortable beds and lovely welcome gifts .

  • "This is a lovely bijou cottage set on a busy main road There is off road parking but if you have 2 bigger cars it’s tight getting both in We booked the cottage as our dogs are scared of fireworks and on the whole we didn’t hear many."

However we hadn’t taken into account the jets flying from nearby RAF bases so if your dog is scared of loud noises this isn’t the cottage for you The welcome pack was basic but supplied tea and coffee and milk which was welcome after a long drive The double bedroom is snug as is the shower in the en-suite The twin room seemed larger but no wardrobe to hang anything Shower and toilet down stairs were excellent Kitchen is compact and crowded with 2 people in it but it was well equipped and clean Heaters were good once switched on but cottage was very cold when we first arrived Seating was ok but tired. Ok for an evening of tv or reading. The garden was well enclosed and good for doggie late night abloushions Would recommend postbox cottage as it’s well situated for forest walks just not great if your dog is skittish

  • "We were surprised at how compact this holiday cottage is though the careful renovation has been done trying to maximise comfort in the space."

Beds were extremely comfortable and the small kitchen was well equipped. Four adults found the location of the showers/toilets rather challenging!! We appreciated that dogs are made most welcome. Parking for two cars was fine though the road next to the cottage is fairly busy. The central location is ideal for visiting surrounding attractions in Norfolk and Suffolk.

  • "Absolutely well presented cottage which was very clean and with ample utensils."

Well placed to explore both Norfolk and Suffolk. Garden was a little smaller than we imagined but was safe and secure for our dogs. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the closeness to a busy through road. Traffic noise was constant not helped the week we were there because of traffic lights outside due to road works.

  • "Rating 3.4 out of 5 A lovely cottage out in the sticks ideal for a short couple’s getaway."

Good shower and well equipped kitchen. Decent wi-fi connection. Please note, the lounge furniture and carpet smell of dogs which is worsened in the heat. The main road adjacent to the property receives a high volume of heavy goods vehicles and tractors throughout the day and night which are incredibly loud and shake the cottage. Noise and vibration from the main road can make it difficult to sleep. Parking is difficult even for two small vehicles.

  • "Lovely property with quality bed linen and towels."

Prosecco and biscuits were a nice touch. Small essentials such as shampoo, salt, pepper, sponge etc were well thought out. No wardrobe in twin room which was fine for me as did not bring any dresses, however there is room so would recommend this addition. Cottage was spotlessly clean and there was all the right pots, pans and oven ware. Parking of car, found it easier to reverse in as a snug fit. Great base to explore all the walking trails of nearby Thetford Forest. Small enclosed garden great for the dogs and two minutes up the road is a nice wooded walk that runs along side the fields. Would recommend this wonderful property.

Good, well maintained facilities. Safe enclosed garden with a secure gate which was important to us having struggled with other homes that have advertised similarly but not factored in sausage dog cunning.

The kitchen had all what we needed dishwasher tablets and washing machine capsules, washing up liquid, tea towels & cloths. The front room was cosy and the starter kit for the wood burner was great upstairs there’s a hairdryer ironing board and ironi, lovely ensuite with white fluffy towels. The beds were very comfortable and was lovely waking up to the view of the field. Overall the cottage was a five star stay. The enclosed garden is a must for our little dog and it was secure and safe. Thank you for our stay.

All very well presented and with a well-equipped kitchen. It lies on the edge of the village with a pleasant outlook at the back over fields. Two bathrooms were a bonus. The Hosts were extremely helpful and approachable. Would recommend it.

The main road which the cottage is situated can be a little noisy at times but this should not detract how nice the cottage is. The bed was comfortable and the outside courtyard was good for sitting out. You are ideally situated for the coast and local attractions. The Browns cafe at Munford do a very nice breakfast and coffee. All in all Lucie and Tom have created a very nice cottage and it is a credit to them. Steve and Sue.

  • "A lovely clean and tidy cottage."

The owners Tom and Lucie live next door and are lovely, they left us goodies for our arrival which were a nice little touch. Well placed for visiting around Norfolk and Suffolk, nothing is too far. Very dog friendly cottage and perfect little garden. Small village but local shops were well stocked and supermarket nearby in Brandon was only a short drive. Plenty of lovely country parks nearby and only about an hour to the coast around Norfolk. Somewhere we would definitely go again.

  • "The cottage was clean and presentable with a welcome gift, bed linen and towels supplied, ideal for our week's stay."

The family who own the property said hello as they live in the two houses next door, but did not intrude at all. It is next to a fairly busy road but there was only a rush of traffic first thing in the morning, the rest of the time the area is very quiet especially at night. The only thing you can hear are the owls. The double room is quite small with en-suite toilet and shower, plus there is no wardrobe space in the larger twin room, but it did not affect us much as we were a party of three. It might be more of a squeeze if you were a family of 4. Kitchen had everything we needed with a dishwasher and washing machine including tablets. We could not work out how to switch on the electric radiators as there is no central heating that we could see but it was warm enough for us anyway. Wi-fi has plenty of speed and the Smart TV worked fine. Only other small issue to raise really is that the shower curtain was too high downstairs so the tiled floor did get very wet and made the room smell damp. For food supplies we would recommend the Aldi in Brandon which is not too far away, the village shops had the essentials but not much else.

The restoration has been thorough and entirely simpathetic with the careful and imaginative use of reclaimed quarry tiles and other materials. The result is tasteful, cool and comfortable. The cottage was spotlessly clean, tidy and welcoming on our arrival. It is well equipped with everything which could be needed for a great holiday in a part of the country with much to see and do on the doorstep. Our hosts were right next door and always ready to provide friendly help without once being at all intrusive. The welcome gifts were also much appreciated. Thank you to Tom, Lucy and Sally for a fine break and great hospitality. We really hope to be back sometime soon.

Beautifully restored by the owners , this cottage is full of character. Well appointed with comfortable beds and everything you could wish for in a holiday cottage. We stayed for two weeks and visited many places and it was always lovely to return to the cottage at the end of the days out. The owners were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We used the log burner towards the end of our stay as it was getting chilly in the evenings. If I was being ultra honest, the sofas provided were a little hard for our old bones, but in no way would that put us off going again!!! A truly delightful cottage that made our holiday perfect!

Thank you for coming to stay at Postbox Cottage and for leaving such lovely feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in the future! Property Owner

Feltwell offers good local amenities including village stores, a Post Office, and pubs. This area of Norfolk is known as the ‘Brecks’, which has a unique landscape consisting of beautiful Scots Pine forests, heathlands, wetlands, chalk streams, meres and pingo ponds. The Brecks is an outstanding area for wildlife conservation and boasts several nature reserves, country parks and visitor centres, which offer activities for the whole family. Thetford Forest High Lodge Centre is the largest lowland pine forest in the UK, and is an excellent place to walk and cycle. Just 6 miles from Feltwell on the Suffolk border is Lakenheath, where aviation enthusiasts can see American jets at USAF Lakenheath take off and land from its watch areas. Close by is the English Heritage owned Neolithic flint mines at Grimes Graves, and the 125 acre reconstructed Anglo-Saxon village at West Stow.
