The property

Bank House is a stylish 15th-century cottage resting in the historic town of Hingham, Norfolk.

Ideal for families or friends, this pet-friendly abode features a warming woodburning stove, an enclosed garden and a nearby pub and shop.

As with many characterful period homes, expect a few charming quirks, low beams, a sloping floor and a low ceiling upstairs, all part of the fun when staying in a building steeped in history!

From the outside, this timber-framed building highlights its character with wattle and daub walls.

It has been fully restored using traditional methods and reclaimed materials wherever possible.

Step into the tiled kitchen/diner with rustic beams overhead, a decorative inglenook fireplace and country-style fixtures.

Store any treats in the fridge/freezer for your stay whilst the ceramic hob warms up, ready for the chef of the kitchen to create a delicious meal.

Pull out a chair and delve into your tasty meal as you plan the adventures ahead.

After dinner, why not crack out a board game to enjoy?

Then head through to the welcoming sitting room with more rustic beams overhead, a plush sofa, a stylish rug and a warming woodburning stove set within an exposed brick inglenook fireplace.

Stoke the fire and enjoy its gentle crackle as you flick on the Smart TV to tune into your favourites.

Head up the winding stairs to the first floor to find a double bedroom with a huge Georgian leaded window overlooking the garden, more beams and a charming exposed brick feature wall.

The second bedroom is a twin with antique beds and bedside tables.

Both bedrooms have extra-wide English oak floorboards and artwork adorning the walls.

Take a soak in the restored roll-top bath in the bathroom, with a walk-in shower available for a brisk start to the day and a WC with an antique high-level cistern.

In the morning, enjoy a brew in the secluded courtyard, dine alfresco or grill something on the tabletop barbecue.

A further small table and chairs sit on the lawn under the beautiful willow tree.

Enjoy the scent and views of quintessential English country garden plants like wisteria, honeysuckle and jasmine.

Enjoy meals in the local gastropub, The White Hart is just across the road and serves excellent food and local ales.

There are also two cafés and a takeaway to give the chef of the group a break.

The local bakery provides fresh bread and delicious homemade cakes, and there is a greengrocer, butcher, chemist and local store, everything you could possibly need is right on your doorstep!

A short stroll away will have you in the pretty marketplace in the fine and ancient town of Hingham, where you can take in its Grade II listed Georgian architecture.

This abode is centrally located to explore Norfolk with its wonderful coastline and the famous Norfolk Broads.

Wroxham, the capital of the Norfolk Broads, is a short drive away with daily boat hire and river trips, waterside cafés, restaurants and shops.

Explore the North Norfolk coast with Cromer, Wells, Brancaster, Blakeney and Great Yarmouth within easy reach.

Enjoy a picnic at Thetford Forest, and pack your hiking boots for the walking trails, zip through the lines at Go Ape or test your balance with the treetop walkway challenges.

Enjoy cycling and walking directly from the doorstep at this cottage, purchase a fishing licence or take a swing at one of the nearby golf courses.

Enjoy the charm of Hingham and the Bank House.
