Wayford Mill

Family had a great time here for the weekend.

Chilled by the water, played games on the large grass area, went paddle boarding. darts and pool in barn was bonus let's say got competitive lol (extra bonus England match was on while there so big screen and bar was used) Real close to explore area, which we've done as a family over the years so great to go back like to Cromer for the crab. If in area, will book up again.

We had our family break here 7 adults, finding was a challenge however once we arrived.

The mill is in a great location down a lane. The property is surrounded by fields, woods and the river at bottom of the garden. Also a great spot to sit on those sunny evenings. Or hire a boat and stop to pick up others as we did. There is plenty of space once inside the mill, with 2 en-suits, large family bathroom and a wet room. Outside decking great when the suns out. We found the barn a great space to spend with others. We spent many an evening playing pool or darts listening to music. The bar was very handy, we made good use of it. Pub in walking distance and if you feel you want a longer walk, there is the crown pub and the Wildcraft Brewery. Just follow the foot path behind the garage. The owner was very helpful when we had a small issue, they responded promptly. And the small gift they left was very good. Would highly recommend.

My family and I throughly enjoyed this accommodation, the house, barn and windmill are magic.

Plenty of shower rooms and toilets and all the other facilities made for a wonderful holiday. Nearly forgot to mention short walk to nice pub with good food and garden centre also great food. Could not recommend highly enough.

We had a great stay.

The setting is beautiful - feels like a proper country retreat, while having shop and pub just round the corner. House itself is very comfortable and well equipped. We'd definitely stay again.

We spent the week of Christmas at the Mill.

The building and grounds are brilliant. Everything is spotless and modern. The barn facilities are fantastic. the owners left us a massive hamper for Christmas, that was a lovely welcome. We were very sorry to leave after the most relaxing Christmas we have had. Sitting by the fire in the evening and relaxing with a bottle. The beds where very comfortable, the bathroom facilities (of which there are many!) are functional and modern. It gets very warm very fast! We are already looking to visit again. Neither of us drive so we were a bit concerned about the remoteness but it was no issue at all. Taxi took us there and back to Norwich train station no problem for about £30 each way. Wood for the fire was readily available from the garage at the bottom of the long drive 5/10 mins. If I had one suggestion it might be a little cart or wheelbarrow to ferry wood back to the Mill (there might have been one but i didn't see it.) There is also a great farm shop about 15/20 min walk away and they have everything you will need. We had Christmas lunch at the Bridge Inn and it was a very nice bar.

Brilliant property in excellent grounds.

We found it ideal for spotting a wide variety of wildlife: kingfishers, pheasants, deer, swans, herons, squirrels, hares, cormorants and marsh harriers. We loved it so much that we hardly left the property except for visiting Horsey Gap to see the seals and their pups. Enjoyed playing pool in the games room. Hoping to return next year. Cliff & Ann

The location of the mill was great for out requirements being in a remote and quiet setting.

Lots of wildlife to see around the area but also a lot of insects partly due to the standing water close to the mill. The rooms and facilities were all well equipped, however there were some issues with a couple of the shower units but these was no show stoppers. This is a well presented property although I would say a little tired around the edges. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the mill.

The property was lovely and the setting was great.

Only a couple of issues. The downstairs wetroom/ toilet is plumbed so flushing the toilet seems to be connected to the plughole so we didn't use it. The first floor ensuite shower has really low pressure which is a pity. The one thing I really think needs addressing is that the entrance to the drive is barely visibile. This is very dangerous as you're turning off a 50 mph road, especially so at night. It really needs some sort of sign , preferably large and white so easily visible at night. Otherwise an excellent property and really well equipped.
