  • "Really wonderful stay."

My lovable mad Springer Poodle cross and I loved it and felt right at home. We used the cottage as a base to visit family, explore, have some down time, and even do a couple of days work! Managed to cook a roast dinner on Easter Sunday, which went down well. Lovely setting, totally dog safe, very comfortable. Friendly and welcoming owners. Thank you so much for the Easter Egg, milk and biscuits - put a smile on my face as soon as I walked in.

  • "Really lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, with a private outdoor area."

Close to Norwich and also relatively close to the Broads and the coast. I could not get the oven to work, though this may have been due to not understanding the controls, but the kitchen is very well-equipped so it was not a problem.

  • "Cottage was everything we’d hoped for."

Lovely secure area for our dog. The one negative was finding it...the NR 10 postcode given took us miles away. The same for the people staying in the neighbouring lodge...who said they had to phone the owners for help. Once we eventually arrived, we then used the NR6 code for the Morrison’s down the road...and always got back to the right area......and if you don’t know the Norfolk roads and lanes, this is quite important.

  • "Foxley Wood Cottage was very comfortable and well planned."

It had all the facilities I need for a weeks stay, and I chose it because of it's location being central to the coastline and other attractions that I wanted to visit. Gary, the owner, was very welcoming.

  • "Lovely little cottage, in a quiet and safe area, not too far from the town centre."

Although it is close to the airport only a couple of planes and helicopters flew over which didn’t cause a problem. Cottage had all facilities making it a home from home. Would highly recommend.

  • "Foxley Wood Cottage was very nice."

Away from the road so you don't see or hear cars going past. Occasionally see an aeroplane come in to land which we loved. A few helicopter s going back & forth to the oil rigs. Other than that it is very very quiet. Owners are very pleasant, they called to see if everything was ok. Everything was nice & clean. It has everything you need except for a small clothes airer. You can wash clothes & hang them out but no airer to put them on... All in all a very nice holiday home.

  • "A great base for seeing Norfolk, location is fantastic, quiet, clean cottage, well equipped, comfortable, secure garden if you have a dog or two, gated secure drive to properties."

Picture is a little deceiving as no flowers in front which would set it off when sitting in the garden. Warm if like us you wish autumn breaks, owners are close at hand if any queries about anything , so very helpful. There is Norwich airport close by so planes are regular as cottage is under the flight path ,but ,moments of noise is all. wildlife is prevalent around the grounds. We have had 4 weeks here in 2019 and will return in 2020. We visit friends and so many places of interest, West Runton Beach is a place to visit ,very interesting history and well kept and organized beach, ideal for dogs to have complete freedom too.

Everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Gated garden/patio for the dog. Ideal location for visiting lots of Norfolk. Would highly recommend and hope to return one day! Don’t be put off by the aircraft taking off/landing at Norwich Airport...we became plane spotters for a week!

  • "We have been to foxley wood cottage before and its just such a relaxing retreat in the trees."

Its so safe with the private drive and electric gates. We love the walks and the Morrisons is a nice walk as only half a mile. Our dog just lays on his bed on the patio until midnight. We enjoy watching the aircraft and helicopters coming in for landing. Its a spacious lodge and has all you need to rest and recuperate from busy work loads. There are many things to do and some nice pubs too. We just like the rest and the calm quiet atmosphere. There is a cottage next door and so see the odd car come in but we stayed there before and they are both nice and owned by gary and he's very friendly. They leave you alone so you can enjoy your own break how you wish too. They live next door but its secluded so not at all intrusive. We are back in November this year 2019 and we will book for 2020 as well!

The owners were very pleasant and very helpful. There was a welcoming pack of biscuits and milk on our arrival. It is very easy to travel to Wroxham and other Broads. Also from Wroxham, is a miniature steam train return trip of 10 miles to Aylsham, which was very enjoyable. We went by bus to Norwich which was a very interesting city.

  • "A serene beautiful place to stay, all you wish in a cottage / bungalow."

It is in a secluded gated piece of land with owners next door and ne other lodge on site. The gardens are securely gated and fenced so if taking a dog with you you are secure in the knowledge unless a really small dog it cannot get out.The grounds around are smashing with a huge pond with plenty of fish, ducks and the varied wildlife around is wonderful to observe. One draw back for some would be an airport close by which means a fairly busy fly past by helicopters and planes , but, the only noise is momentary and interesting, night time noise is limited from the airport but can start around 6.30am. We had a lovely week and the weather was gorgeous again, our second time here this year, two more weeks to look forward to.

Never more than an hour drive to anywhere in the county, often much less. Also don't be fooled by the close proximity of the airport as you can hardly hear any of the planes coming and going, in fact most of us who live near a road hear more of general traffic, which is what you don't hear here as it is set back from the road some 70m or so. The owners are most welcoming and always concerned about their visitors' comfort so don't hesitate to ask if you need anything. We are looking forward to our next visit for another relaxing time in Norfolk. Many thanks Sue and Gary.
