  • "As soon as you walk in through the door you feel at home with flint cottage."

The attention to detail is top notch and even a cake and milk upon arrival. The owners have put a lot of thought into making you and your dogs stay comfortable as we certainly where. It’s had to believe your so close to the town as sitting in the garden was lovely and quiet. Our dog enjoyed the lawned garden that was a great size. Overall I would recommend flint cottage as a quality property. People have mentioned about the parking but we had no issues parking on the road.

Thank you very much for your kind and constructive comments which we really appreciate, we try our best to make sure Flint Cottage ( and our White Cottage next door ) are welcoming to all our guests Property Owner

  • "Great location for shops, beach and public transport."

Couldn't park in the street, it was always bumper to bumper the whole week. The cottage had everything you could possibly need. Lovely to find milk, cake, biscuits and tea/coffee upon our arrival. The cottage was clean, good WiFi and had lots of information about places to visit. The mattress in the green room was very uncomfortable. Had a lovely time, weather was great and we would stop again

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide feedback which we really appreciate. Like many period seaside cottages we don’t have the benefit of our own parking, and the town can be busy in peak periods. However George Street and surrounding roads are unrestricted and we provide information on nearby council car parks which are free overnight. We are sorry the mattress was not to your liking, it was new only 2 years ago and chosen based on previous guest feedback , and we have used it ourselves. We haven’t had any other adverse comments , maybe a topper would help which we would be happy to provide if advised in advance. Thank you for all your positive comments on our cottage and Sheringham which help future guests. Property Owner

Very conveniently situated in a quiet street not far from the town centre. Sheringham is a good centre, close to the sea, important nature reserves and National Trust properties. Friendly and helpful proprietors.

Large garden just what we look for 'a proper dog friendly property'. Only a couple of minutes walk from town but you wouldn't know this & also able to walk to beach. Would definitely recommend it's 5 star in my book.

The steep stairs folk mention are because of the delightfully high ceilings in a Victorian house. The garden was immaculate and ideally secure for dogs. It would be worth mentioning that the TV package includes Netflix and Prime. We will definitely repeat our stay as soon as we can.

  • "Very nice cottage, could do with a larger TV in lounge, lovely location only short walk to town and beach."

Parking can be problematical imagine it would be very difficult to park near cottage at peak times.

Thank you very much for your feedback which is appreciated. However as we advised you last year, the size of the Smart TV is appropriate to the size of the room in our spacious Edwardian cottage. The location in the heart of the town means that unfortunately we do not have our own parking, but for the benefit of future guests we can advise that Flint Cottage is situated on a quiet road without parking restriction and alternative council car parks are within a few minutes walk but most guests find no need to use them. Also provision of a USB plug for charging phones etc would be helpful. We had a very enjoyable week and really appreciated being able to bring all four dogs.

Thank you very much for your kind comments, we always encourage and act on guest feedback where practicable. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and we know from personal experience how difficult it is to find a cottage that will accept 4 dogs ! However for the benefit of future guests we must clarify that Flint Cottage has a 32” LED Smart HD TV with DVD in the lounge, which is 12 months old; in addition there is a larger smart TV situated in an upstairs bedroom. The cottage was not suitable for OAP The stairs were steep and dark furniture was to low for us Parking space where you could manage to find a space in surrounding streets We arrived on the Saturday and left Tuesday very disappointing

Thank you very much for your prompt reply and feedback. We appreciate your comments but don’t feel that our cottage is unsuitable for elderly guests, being of pension age ourselves we manage perfectly well ! we and Sykes do our best to provide accurate descriptions of our cottages, this includes us asking guests at the time of booking if they need any further information, this could be about the cottage facilities or parking. Both the sofas and beds are of standard height, however if you found the double bed to be too low for you, the twin beds were available for use and they are slightly higher. We also have a detailed "access statement" on our own website (details on our first email to you) which gives the exact measurements of the cottage including the stairs. We disagree that they are unduly steep (they have standard 13 steps of normal tread height) or indeed dark, there is full lighting in the hallway and on the landing. We totally understand that this type of period cottage (plus without its own parking) may not entirely meet your needs, but feel that you did not make sufficient inquiries as to suitability at the time of booking. Finally it is disappointing that you didn't let us know you were leaving after only 3 nights stay, as we could have arranged for our housekeeper to attend early and would have found your clothing items sooner. We are very sorry that you were unable to enjoy your stay in Flint Cottage and Sheringham but feel that neither we nor Sykes could not have done anything different to avoid your dissatisfaction. Thank you once again for taking the time to give us your feedback. Property Owner
