  • "The location of the cottage is 100%."

You walk out of the French doors and within 5 yards are the broads, with all the fantastic views and wildlife at hand - absolutely fantastic. A perfect place to people/boat watch. Where do I start with the cottage… to be honest, the cottage needs a lot of TLC to bring it anywhere up to the standard of the lovely lodges that we usually book. We had heard that it was a little tired… I would personally say that it was a lot tired. The paintwork was in dire need of some fresh paint as there were scuff marks everywhere. The flooring in the lounge area needs replacing as the sun has scorched a lot of the area around the French doors, and the sofa has definitely seen better days and is VERY uncomfortable. The television also needs bringing into the 21st century with a smart TV needed. The crockery was almost non-existent. In the 30° of heat last weekend we needed to drink a lot, but unfortunately there was only three tumblers and we had to keep washing them up to reuse them. There was also only three mugs . The furniture in the main bedroom was also very rickety and we were afraid to put anything in the chest of drawers in case it fell apart. The bed was actually very comfortable. The table in the kitchen was also very wobbly and old . In this day and age, there is a lot of high expectations with holiday accommodation and unfortunately Cotman cottage did not fit the bill. Also, please don’t think it is a short stroll to the supermarket and other amenities. It is at least half a mile. Not good in the heat. We would definitely go back to the area again.

  • "The property was smaller than expected."

Paintwork was a little tired in places. It was quite well equipped. Patio doors and windows needed a good clean however.
