  • "We had a lovely stay."

The cottage was really homely and had everything we needed. Both the owner and caretaker were so welcoming and helpful. The area itself is equally as beautiful and we will definitely be back; we might even try out the eco barn next door!

  • "Your General Feedback Would you like to provide feedback about the holiday property?"

This will be shared with the property owner. We loved the area and the cottage was comfortable but we thought it needed updating. The kitchen tap was loose and the light and shaver socket over the mirror in the bathroom was coming away from the wall and didn't work. This was probably because the cover wasn't on it. This could of been a problem for us as there was knowhere to plug in an electric tooth brush charger. Fortunately we brought an an adapter with us. These were only small things and they didn't spoil our holiday but we felt they should of been sorted before changeover. Another thing that would of been useful is a list of emergency phone numbers for doctors, vets etc and the password for the WiFi writen down so we wouldn't have to search for it on the back of the router.

  • "Just a three small comments, a simple lock on the WC/bathroom door would be useful and maybe larger towels."

My wife was disappointed with the quality of the towels. A mirror in the double bedroom would also be useful However just small points and we were extremely pleased with the property and would recommend it

Our second visit and we had a very relaxing time both out on walks and in the cottage itself which is very comfortable and well stocked with all that is needed

  • "Another perfect stay at one of our favourite holiday cottages."

It was great to be back. Quiet and peaceful, with beautiful views yet close to good local amenities. The weather was not as kind to us this time but that did not affect our enjoyment - we just spent more time relaxing in front of the log burner on the really rainy days! Great to see the progress on the eco barn next door as well - very impressed with the thought and care that has gone into every inch of the work there. Thanks again to you both for a lovely stay.

  • "This cottage is in a perfect location to explore Snowdonia and the Welsh coast."

There are so many options of things to do, mountains to walk up, places to eat etc. within a short drive of the cottage. It is easily accessible with good roads in, lots of parking yet it manages to feel completely off the beaten track. It's very comfortable with everything you would need for your stay to hand and a nice space to spend time in. It is definitely worth checking this place out!

  • "The property was excellent and it was wonderful to find about how it had been renovated with the use of local materials and workforce."

Alex, owner, explained how he is doing everything as environmentally friendly as possible. Comfortably furnished and very clean and well maintained. A nice quiet surrounding with none of the sounds we live with daily-neighbours, city sounds. Nice views from the cottage and a patio area to relax in. The location was excellent and easy to get to beaches and local hills for walks. It was also interesting to see how the second cottage is being finalised for occupation.

  • "Our third stay in this lovely, well-equipped cottage in 18 months."

As usual, we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful, peaceful stay again - just what we needed. Lots to explore in the local area by day and relaxing in front of the log burner by night was just perfect. Poppy the dog's particular favourites are Black Rock Sands beach and the cottage's paddock. We look forward to our next visit.

  • "Love N. Wales and this was a cracking spot and a great location for climbing, walking and beaches!"

Accommodation was clean and comfortable but if I were to be picky it would have been nice to have a welcome pack about the property with WIFI code written down! Only one door could be unlocked but that’s not especially important! But don’t know what the second key was for! On the booking it mentions laundry and towels provided but there were no towels! Not an issue at all as we appreciate that these are very different times and we brought our own, but just needs to amend the website! All in all a great time was had and we would not Hesitate to recommend the property. Tom

  • "What put us off was the visit and constant drive pasts of the caretaker."

At 8:18 on our 1st morning he came calling, his hand on the door handle ready to step in. Fair enough he came to tell us that the extractor fan wasn’t working but surely this could have been written in a note. I was in my PJ’s making chit chat - no thanks I’m on hols. I felt I was being watched the whole time. On check out at 9:40 he arrives again with mop & bucket in hand, at 10.05 barges in so please be prompt with check out time. Unfortunately I got the times mixed with a previous cottage who’s check out time was 11am, :( The crockery was filthy had to be rewashed before use, upstairs was cheaply finished and let the place down. Take plenty of loo roll, only one supplied, cheap brand at that. For such a beautiful renovated cottage the finishing touches let it down, why has everyone got to shop at IKEA. The location however was top marks for us

Set in lovely grounds and close to lots of different attractions and beaches. The barn was modern with a rustic feel and had everything we needed for a family of 4. The owner Alex was great and easy to contact with any questions. He gave me loads of info before the stay about the area and different things to do there. Nothing seemed like too much trouble. Lovely, secure paddock area - we loved the extra touches like the huge log bench, the slate plinth table and the new tree planting. Perfect location for our very nervous rescue dog too. Many thanks to Alex - such a friendly, helpful owner (as were all the people we met locally). Can't wait to go back.

  • "On the approach my daughter asked why were we staying in a bus shelter."

The cottage is dwarfed by the magnificent surroundings. Certainly much larger inside than it appears outside. Very well equipped and comfortable. Some lovely craftsman furniture. Very quiet country location apart from the occasional toot of a steam train chuffing across the vista. We even spotted an Osprey hunting in the paddock. Just one warning, the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are quite steep if you don't have 100% mobility. There is so much to see and do in North Wales I'm sure we'll be back soon.

About the location

BEDDGELERT

Porthmadog 6 miles; Caernarfon 13 miles.

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. A 20 minute stroll along the river will take you to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’ most famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Beddgelert is famed for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn's dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover afterwards it had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack. With Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Borth y Gest and the whole of the Llyn Peninsula easily reached, this is an ideal location for a Welsh holiday.
