Clean, comfortable, light, warm, roomy, well equipped, EV charger, sea view from bed, welcoming host....what more could you want? No hesitation in recommending Y Stybal as a base for exploring the scenic Llyn Peninsular.

Andrea and Colin have not just done a wonderful restoration job, they have done it with such care and attention to detail. Brilliant hosts, fabulous location, definitely want to return.

Wonderful place to stay.

Excellent property, great condition and has everything we needed.

It was amazing value for money, especially in August. The electric car charging point was an essential for us and worked well, however it was more expensive than anywhere else. The drive is extremely bumpy, so might cause problems for some types of cars. Everything inside the property was ideal except the blind on the sloping window in the double bedroom - this lets in too much light and should be replaced with a blackout blind.

First of all thank you to the hosts Andrea and Collin with a very warm welcome and friendly experience throughout, the place is a credit to you both.

Upon arrival the place was spotless and in my opinion a brilliant location surrounded with so much to do and see. We would recommend this to anyone and would we visit again? Absolutely.

we really loved our holiday here, the cottage was so comfortable, spotlessly clean and everything provided for making our holiday most enjoyable.

The owners were lovely and were there to welcome us and to see us when on our way home. There was a lovely welcome pack, much appreciated after a 4 hour journey. We would love to return here in the future

The cottage was perfect, however when we needed to change the dates of our stay, and to an adjacent cottage with the same owner, over two hours was spent on the phone, mainly just waiting, but also listening to a young woman answering every request with a refusal starting "our terms and condition state" Rang again the next day, a young man answered, and dealt with the request promptly and efficiently.

Sykes need to look into its customer service.

An Unforgettable Family Retreat. From the moment we turned the key in the lock, this charming cottage felt like our own little corner of Welsh heaven. The immaculate presentation of its rustic character - exposed beams and original features blended seamlessly with modern comforts to create a truly special holiday home. The thoughtful touches truly set this place apart. Upon arrival, we discovered Welsh cakes alongside tea, coffee, and fresh milk - exactly what we needed after our journey. Our little ones (aged 2 and 4) immediately felt at home, exploring the cottage with delight while we settled in with a cuppa. The cottage provided the perfect sanctuary for our young family. During the day, we explored the breathtaking surroundings - romantic woodland walks, quaint village shops, and stunning coastal paths all within easy reach. Then evenings were spent cosied up together, playing games or simply enjoying the blissful quiet that enveloped the cottage, something so precious when escaping the hustle of everyday life. Despite its peaceful seclusion, we discovered countless family-friendly attractions nearby. The children were enchanted by each new adventure, returning exhausted but happy each evening. This holiday gave us exactly what we needed - precious time together in a beautiful setting without distractions. We've already begun planning our return visit. If you're seeking a perfect family escape that combines authentic charm with thoughtful hosting, look no further. Our family of four couldn't recommend it more highly.

Absolutely top class, the hosts couldn’t have been more helpful, the place is extremely well presented, the hosts provided extras such as milk, eggs, bread (and a lovely bottle of NZ Sav Blanc!

) and has a great range of equipment. The location provides great access to a huge range of sites and activities. Highly recommend!

The position is elevated so there are sea and mountain views all round. Warm welcome from the owners! We had a lovely, relaxed week.

A generous 'welcome package' is provided by the very friendly and welcoming owners. Much thought has gone into providing the little extras that help to ensure a memorable stay.

We had a fantastic stay and it was very clean and comfortable for our family of 4 including a toddler.

The welcome package was such a nice touch too and we enjoyed a glass of wine with a lovely view. So much to do and see in this area so would highly recommend.

This property has it all. Its immaculately clean, very warm and the perfect place to explore this part of Wales. The location has the most perfect views of the area. Sunset and sunrise are great and this time the added view of snow on the mountains. Very close to lots of places to visit. The owners provide a very generous welcome pack and are happy to help. What a beautiful, clean and comfy cottage with everything you could want down to wonderful fresh food and drink awaiting for us when we arrived.

My only comment would be for the EV charging rates to be published in the listing as I was quite shocked at how expensive this was.

Superb accommodation and location.

Welcome pack provided was very considerate as was our welcome from Andrea. Cosy accommodation with good heating, hot water, very comfortable beds with bedding and towels provided. Lots to see and do around the area too, we would definitely like to return.

Amazing views. To sit and take in the views over a cuppa, was just wonderful. Classic cottage looks on the outside, but very modern on the inside. Very high standard of cleanliness. Wonderful hosts, very friendly. A lovely welcome basket, which was very much appreciated after travelling. A perfect place to relax. Although I felt that photos and description did not do this cottage justice, it is much better.. Thank you.. .

The cottage was ideal - spotless, well equipped and the perfect garden for our toddler to enjoy running around in. The owners were so friendly and helpful. There were so many great beaches and towns to visit in the area, as well as days out on the Ffestiniog Railway and the Rabbit Farm which our little boy loved. We had the best holiday and would recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at Y Stabal. The hosts were great and so helpful. The views are amazing. The beds are comfy and the cottage is one of the cleanest we have stayed in. The kitchen is handy for those nights in for cooking, but there’s many great places to eat nearby. It’s so close to Criccieth, but also in such a quiet location. We especially enjoyed the walk near Lloyd George’s grave. Would 100% recommend and one day hopefully will be back.

The cottage is in a perfect location with fantastic views of the sea and mountains but close enough to the main areas of Porthmadog and Criccieth by car and bus. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and more spacious than expected.

The setting is very quiet and peaceful too. There was a nice welcome pack on arrival too which was a lovely touch. The cottage is a few miles from local villages of Criccieth and Pwllheli. Close enough to pop to by car but not to walk to. But that was fine for is. Would recommend this as a place to stay for sure

We had a lovely stay at then end of July, the hosts were great, and there were a lot of thoughtful touches in the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and beautifully peaceful, with easy access to Abersoch and Snowdonia, we would certainly recommend Y Stabal and would like to return, thanks

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Y Stabal" from the moment we arrived we felt at home & relaxed, such a warm welcome from Colin & Andrea & the "Welcome Pack" of tea, coffee, sugar, Welsh cakes, bread, milk, butter, eggs etc was extremely thoughtful and much appreciated after our journey, the kitchen was well supplied with all cleaning products, utensils, pans, crockery etc.

the dishwasher was a welcome bonus too. The supply of towels etc in the bathroom was perfect, beds extremely comfortable, all of the cottage & surrounding farm was beautiful. We couldn't ask for anything more truly a "Home from Home" The extra care & attention with regards to Covid19 was also extremely appreciated. We are already planning a return visit. We would highly recommend "Y Stabal" the proximity to local attractions is ideal, rural enough to relax & close enough to explore the areas of interest. Thank You Colin & Andrea we look forward to returning hopefully next year.

Very good location for walks and interesting places to visit

Andrea, our host was excellent.

In this difficult time with Covid-19 we were very pleased with the set up of the the cottage and found it to be extremely clean. The cottage itself had everything we needed and more. It was very tastefully decorated and felt very cosy. We were able to book a supermarket delivery but to our surprise, when we arrived we were greeted with the main essentials already provided. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with stunning views. Would highly recommend it - in fact we are going to try and book again next year!

Lovely, fully equipped cottage just outside of Criccieth.

Ideally located to explore the Llyn Peninsular, with Porthmadog only 10 mins by car. The cottage was clean on arrival with a very generous welcome pack. The view over the bay, towards Harlech, was impressive from the decking, or bedroom. The owners were friendly and full of local tips.

We had a fabulous week in a superb cottage that was of very high standard.

The location and view was phenomenal. We would go off sightseeing during the day and come back to peace and tranquillity.

Wales . The Welcome Pack that was provided was one of the best we've had..bread,eggs,juice,wine, milk,Welsh cakes,flowers...all much appreciated. The facilities were excellent and the viewpoint from the front area was outstanding . Well worth a return visit.

Perfect position for travelling all over the Llyn Peninsula.

The views from the windows especially the bedroom of the sea were amazing and the pictures on the website don’t do it justice. We could see snowdon from the kitchen window! This holiday home was so well equipped, nothing was forgotten. The owners were very kind, on site if needed but not intrusive.

Immaculate. Clean. Awesome views and location. Have recommended it to lots of people. Really high quality furnishings and sympathetic to original features. Attention to detail was great - all of those bits and bobs you don't need to take when going away are already provided. Fabulous place.

Y Stabal is one of the best holiday cottages that we have been to.

Extremely friendly hosts who are on hand should you have any questions or problems. If anything the advertising undersells it.( particularly the view from the property ) The cottage has everything you could possibly wish for to have a very comfortable holiday, coupled with an excellent welcome pack which included so much more than the usual bread and milk. The location is perfect for seeing this very scenic area. Altogether a perfect holiday retreat.

This property was lovely, really cosy and all that we needed for my husband, me and our 3 year old.

The property is located just outside Cricceth and pwehelli so not too far from lots of attractions. The owners are really welcoming and had provided a few basics such as bread, butter, milk and wine for our arrival. The only downside to this property is the wifi. There is wifi but we found that it kept coming and going - annoying when trying to watch a film via an amazon fire stick!. I would say this is more to do with the area and signal than anything to do with the property though. We are already thinking of booking again for next year.

The accommodation was perfect.

It was very clean and there was a welcome box of dairy items and bread. The owners were welcoming and very helpful. We had a cracked wondscreen that couldn't be fixed till the Wednesday and Mr Widdicome offered to take us into Criccieth if we wanted. The property had everything we needed and the location was excellent for exploring this part of Wales without putting too many miles on the clock. We had a great holiday and will definitely consider returning.

The accommodation was of a very high standard .

It was very clean . The location was very good . The Directions where easy to follow . The owners where polite and very helpful. The only down points where , the fridge/freezer are on the small side . Which was ok for 2 but if there where 4 people it might be an issue. The other one was a small side table by the one settee would be an idea as there is only the one table in the lounge. This is really only a very minor point . We solved it by moving the settee closer. These points are both only opinion , overall the cottage was wonderful . The owners have made a very good holiday accommodation .

Spotlessly clean, lots of storage - best self catering experience in UK for myself, husband and two kids (10 & 13). The location is idyllic with views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Very centrally located so ideal for exploring. We were blessed with a mini heatwave so dined alfresco most days, kids played in garden and also visited beaches at Criccieth and Abersoch and also ventured further - everywhere maximum 60 min drive away. A huge thank you to Andrea and Colin who made us so welcome- we will definitely be returning!
