    We had a wonderful stay at Y Stabal. The hosts were great and so helpful. The views are amazing. The beds are comfy and the cottage is one of the cleanest we have stayed in. The kitchen is handy for those nights in for cooking, but there’s many great places to eat nearby. It’s so close to Criccieth, but also in such a quiet location. We especially enjoyed the walk near Lloyd George’s grave. Would 100% recommend and one day hopefully will be back.

Close enough to pop to by car but not to walk to. But that was fine for is. Would recommend this as a place to stay for sure

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "Y Stabal" from the moment we arrived we felt at home & relaxed, such a warm welcome from Colin & Andrea & the "Welcome Pack" of tea, coffee, sugar, Welsh cakes, bread, milk, butter, eggs etc was extremely thoughtful and much appreciated after our journey, the kitchen was well supplied with all cleaning products, utensils, pans, crockery etc."

    The dishwasher was a welcome bonus too. The supply of towels etc in the bathroom was perfect, beds extremely comfortable, all of the cottage & surrounding farm was beautiful. We couldn't ask for anything more truly a "Home from Home" The extra care & attention with regards to Covid19 was also extremely appreciated. We are already planning a return visit. We would highly recommend "Y Stabal" the proximity to local attractions is ideal, rural enough to relax & close enough to explore the areas of interest. Thank You Colin & Andrea we look forward to returning hopefully next year.

    In this difficult time with Covid-19 we were very pleased with the set up of the the cottage and found it to be extremely clean. The cottage itself had everything we needed and more. It was very tastefully decorated and felt very cosy. We were able to book a supermarket delivery but to our surprise, when we arrived we were greeted with the main essentials already provided. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with stunning views. Would highly recommend it - in fact we are going to try and book again next year!

    The property is located just outside Cricceth and pwehelli so not too far from lots of attractions. The owners are really welcoming and had provided a few basics such as bread, butter, milk and wine for our arrival. The only downside to this property is the wifi. There is wifi but we found that it kept coming and going - annoying when trying to watch a film via an amazon fire stick!. I would say this is more to do with the area and signal than anything to do with the property though. We are already thinking of booking again for next year.

    It was very clean and there was a welcome box of dairy items and bread. The owners were welcoming and very helpful. We had a cracked wondscreen that couldn't be fixed till the Wednesday and Mr Widdicome offered to take us into Criccieth if we wanted. The property had everything we needed and the location was excellent for exploring this part of Wales without putting too many miles on the clock. We had a great holiday and will definitely consider returning.

    It was very clean . The location was very good . The Directions where easy to follow . The owners where polite and very helpful. The only down points where , the fridge/freezer are on the small side . Which was ok for 2 but if there where 4 people it might be an issue. The other one was a small side table by the one settee would be an idea as there is only the one table in the lounge. This is really only a very minor point . We solved it by moving the settee closer. These points are both only opinion , overall the cottage was wonderful . The owners have made a very good holiday accommodation .

    Spotlessly clean, lots of storage - best self catering experience in UK for myself, husband and two kids (10 & 13). The location is idyllic with views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Very centrally located so ideal for exploring. We were blessed with a mini heatwave so dined alfresco most days, kids played in garden and also visited beaches at Criccieth and Abersoch and also ventured further - everywhere maximum 60 min drive away. A huge thank you to Andrea and Colin who made us so welcome- we will definitely be returning!

A wonderful semi-detached barn conversion, one of two in a small courtyard position.

Inside this delightful cottage is a comfy double bedroom which enjoys a sea view and a twin bedroom, ideal for children.

The kitchen is well appointed with a dining area and the spacious sitting room is welcoming and full of character and charm with randomly exposed stonework, exposed beams, lintels and a lovely fireplace housing a warming log-effect electric fire.

The cottage enjoys its own enclosed garden at the rear with decked patio seating area, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring.

This cottage provides an excellent base for exploring countryside and coast.

Bryn Marsli Barns

Two delightful stone-built, semi-detached barn conversions, situated on the owners' 30-acre sheep and cattle farm, in a rural position 1.5 miles from the village of Chwilog, just three miles from the seaside town of Criccieth and six miles from Pwllheli. Occupying a courtyard position these successfully converted barns combine original character features such as exposed timbers and purlins, lintels and stone, with modern facilities, offering a warm, welcoming and cosy retreat, ideal for relaxing and enjoying the mountain views. These lovely cottages can be booked individually, or larger groups could book the two cottages together for those special occasions when the whole family can get together and celebrate a special birthday or anniversary. Great care has been taken to ensure there is everything you need for a comfortable stay and a wonderful holiday. There is ample parking outside each cottage and each cottage has an enclosed courtyard garden and patio area at the rear for you to enjoy where you can read a good book or simply take in the scenery. There are numerous short walks from the cottages; visit St Cybi’s Well or enjoy a walk along the coastal path. Three miles away is Criccieth, well worth a visit; spend a day exploring its medieval castle, pebbled beach and array of shops. Porthmadog is only five miles away and has an impressive marina and is the terminus for the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways. These lovely cottages are an ideal base for a gathering of friends and family or couples alike, and the charming region is a paradise for watersports, walking, cycling, golf, fishing and touring all of the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, Isle of Anglesey and the wonderful Snowdonia National Park.

Often described as the 'Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog.
