  • "Thankyou Jane for your exceptional care and attention, the property was breathtaking and far exceeded our expectations."

    So many little touches, fizz, flowers and cake left as a welcome. This was not a standard holiday let, it was beautifully curated and the furnishings were well considered and of a high standard. This was the first time, over many years and locations, that my ‘ clean freak’ daughter could not find anywhere that didn’t meet her exaction standards! The outdoor areas were comfortable with lots of comfy cushions and throws available. The location and views are breathtaking, hand on heart the very best holiday let I’ve ever stayed in, a wonderful relaxing much needed break.

  • "A beautifully renovated farmhouse set in a stunning location overlooking Point Lynas Lighthouse, just a field away from the coastal path with lovely walks in both directions, including a cute little bay (Porth Eilian) on the doorstep."

    Perfect for nature lovers - we saw dolphins/porpoise, seals and lots of birds. Exceptionally clean and well-equipped, it made for a perfect stay. A generous welcome pack of goodies on arrival was a lovely touch, and Jane is a friendly host for whom nothing is too much trouble. We’re already looking forward to returning next year.

  • "Everything you want from a cottage holiday."

    Plenty of comfortable armchairs, (enough for at least 12), wonderful when the weather isnt too good. The biggest kitchen/dining room we have ever seen. Finally the wonderful conservatory/living room with one of the best views you could hope for. Definately,we will be revisiting soon.

    The property, gardens, walks and Anglesey generally (including the people) is a wonderful experience unsurpassed in all the years we have been enjoying such locations. Highly recommended to anyone enjoying nature, walking, cycling. All either from the property or close by.

  • "We had a fantastic break at this very spacious property, every thing we needed was at hand even down to every utensil."

    A very generous welcome package was left for us and Jayne the owner was absolutely delightful. Posted on Tik Tok and a few of our followers had actually stayed at the property and lots were very interested in booking and asked for contact details. Simply can't fault it. Great break!   • "The house is very, very large."

    All three bedrooms are very generous in size the bathrooms with roll top baths are very spacious and luxurious. So many separate seating areas within the house if you wanted some quiet time away from the family. Different seating areas eaten areas outside the owner thought of it allEverything was well maintained and a credit to the owner. Jane was an amazing host.

  • "A truly beautiful old house and spot, complete with lots of warm and personal touches."

    The views of the sea are stunning, the bedrooms are both cosy and large and the kitchen and conservatory are fantastic for family meals and socialising. Our host was very friendly and helpful during our stay. My only quibbles were lack of a dishwasher which would make catering for groups easier (but I hear one may be coming), and ditto lack of a full size fridge. Other than that can't wait to come back..

  • "This was our second stay at Balog farm and it didn’t disappoint."

    The ever- changing views from the house are as good in summer as in winter. The house is very comfortable, clean and well laid out. Being able to wander across the fields, through the abundant wild flowers to the coastal path is a bonus and we saw various birds, seals and porpoises in the sea. Thank you Jane for your generous hospitality and thoughtfulness in providing a welcoming place to enjoy another memorable holiday.

  • "The owner of this property has gone above and beyond the expected standard of Sykes."

    The appliances in the kitchen were all top quality and consisted of every conceivable item you could ask for. The old parts and new parts of the cottage blended seamlessly and complimented each other perfectly. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds extremely comfortable with ample storage space. The lounge area was spectacular, spacious and extremely comfortable with floor to ceiling windows affording amazing views. The seating areas outside were superb with the most spectacular views. All in all the best property we have ever stopped in.

    It is remote and take approx 10 mins drive to get to nearest village but the views from the conservatory are spectacular!

  • "This was our first stay on Anglesey and we were so glad we chose Balog farm."

    We wanted to spend a week over the Christmas holiday with our family with plenty of space and tranquility and this property was perfect for that. Waking up on Christmas Day with the views across the sea felt very special. The views are spectacular and change all the time as the sun and clouds move. The place was so clean and warm, with very comfortable beds. We had the option of 2 wood burning stoves but didn’t need to use them. There is plenty of seating and areas to be apart if desired. Everywhere has beautiful decor and has been well thought out. It was great to be able to wander across the fields to the coastal path and walking in the area is very enjoyable. Thank you Jane for the welcome goodies and we look forward to seeing you again as we have booked to return in June/July for 2 weeks.

    The view of the sea from the cottage is stunning and the property photos do not do it justice .The coastline in the area is stunning and the walk from the cottage along it, is breathtaking .The owners decoration of the property is extremely tasteful to our liking and the welcome pack is very good .We would definitely recommend to others and would definitely return .

  • "What a delightful property with stunning views across to the sea, where we spotted porpoises and seals."

    We also spotted a red squirrel nearby as well as birds of prey. Easy access to the cottage which is well equipped and spotlessly clean. Jayne, the owner is delightful and really cares that everything is as it should be. Would absolutely recommend the cottage and would certainly use it again.

  • "For us, this was the perfect holiday property."

    It was clean, spacious and nicely decorated with panoramic views of the sea, as well as easy access to a beach on foot. The host was always pleasant and helpful, but also left us to enjoy the property. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating that we would have gladly stayed for longer, and hope to return if we can.

With an affluent mining history, the village now plays host to numerous activities and attractions, making it the ideal location for a family holiday. Discover the history of Amlwch and its copper mining tradition on the Heritage Copper Trail, part of the beautiful 125 mile coastal path that winds its way along the coast of Anglesey, or visit the Old Mine Works at Mynydd Parys, and see the red, yellow and purple rocks, which some say resemble the surface of the Moon.
