"Beautiful cottage in a perfect setting."

Overall we really enjoyed our stay overlooking and listening to the river. I think we will be in many photos taken by walkers passing by. Lots of stunning walks from the door step (easy and not so easy). Lovely welcome pack and good quality furniture & fittings. In fact I think it’s the first time I’ve stayed anywhere where all lamps/lights work! :) we had some lovely meals out locally & in neighbouring villages and used the public transport / buses which were on the door step. The patio door was not locked on our arrival and we were not able to lock it during our stay - so the owners need to be made aware the property is not secure. There were no instructions in the property regarding recycling/bin collection days etc. Parking was an issue, on our day of arrival (Bank Holiday) the closest we could park was over 2 miles away & at no point could we park directly outside the property. WiFi was not usable we were better off on the network even though that was down one day in Beddgelert - which could be an issue for some. I’d definitely recommend this property.

We’re so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and would recommend us. Thank you for all the lovely points you mentioned. In response to some of the issues you raised, we are looking to get the patio door fixed when we go for our maintenance week in October however if the handle is lifted the lock should turn. I was surprised that you said there were no instructions for the bins so I asked the cleaners to check the Welcome Folder to make sure they were still in there which fortunately they were. I was also concerned that you said the WiFi was not useable so I contacted the guest following yourselves. They confirmed that the WiFi was working fine for them and no one else has raised this as an issue prior to, or since your stay. I’m therefore not quite sure what happened during your stay, but apologies for any inconvenience caused. Had you contacted myself or Sykes during your stay we would have done all we could to resolve this for you. With reference to parking, it can be difficult to park directly across from the house at very busy times in high season but we have always found that the car can be moved to within a few yards of the cottage once the day visitors have left. Two miles seems an awfully long way away to park and we’re very surprised by that, especially as there is a big car park for visitors within the village itself, just a few hundred yards away. "Really enjoyed our short stay at Riverside Cottage."

Very cosy, comfortable and well located next to the river. Very clean and tidy with excellent facilities. It was a pleasure to return to the cottage and relax on the patio next to the river after a hard day's hiking. The welcome pack is a nice and very welcome touch. Thank you to the owners for a very pleasant stay. We would highly recommend this cottage.

Thank you for your lovely review. We’re so pleased that you enjoyed the cottage so much. Property Owner

"My Wife and I along with the dog had a fantastic 5 night stay at Riverside cottage."

The welcome pack was a very nice surprise and much appreciated. The cottage was perfect for us and ticked all the boxes (cleanliness, size, layout and location) The outside patio area was such a bonus, who needs a TV when you have such fantastic views. One very slight issue was the patio door which proved stiff to slide open and close to lock, but overall we could not fault Riverside Cottage. Location was ideal for days out exploring. This was our first visit to North Wales and we will definitely be returning. again.

Thank you for taking the time to write a comprehensive review. We’re so pleased you had such a good time. We are aware that the patio door has become more difficult to lock. We did make enquiries about getting the lock changed earlier this year however because it is an old unit it’s not a simple fix. We have a maintenance week there in October and are hoping to get it sorted then. It would be lovely to welcome you back to the cottage again sometime Property Owner

"The photos really don’t do this property justice."

Out of all the properties we’ve booked over the years this has to rank at the top. Riverside Cottage is perfectly positioned backing on to the river, with the gentle tumble of the river lulling you to sleep every night, and we were visited by the local duck family every evening (ever hopeful)! We were lucky enough to have almost perfect weather in the week we stayed, so could take full advantage of eating al fresco. The open plan design of the cottage makes it feel quite spacious and the kitchen is fully stocked with all the utensils you could need for a week’s holiday. This has been clearly thought out by the owners, who also left a very kind ‘welcome’ pack for us. 5 stars - and we will definitely book again if we’re in the area.

Thank you for your lovely review. That means so much to us. We’re delighted that you loved the cottage and enjoyed your time there, it would be our pleasure to welcome you back again sometime. Property Owner

"Thank you for a most enjoyable stay at your lovely property with our chocolate Labrador."

It was amazing to sit by the side of the river to eat breakfast and watch the grey wagtails swooping into the water. We loved Beddgelert and hope to return one day.

"The cottage was lovely, in a great location and had all the facilities we needed."

Just had one small problem when the shower flooded on first use because the build up of hair in the plug hole had not been cleaned out in a long time. Only took a couple of minutes to sort it out myself so I think it just needs to be added to the regular cleaning tasks.

Thank you for raising this issue with us, we’re very sorry that you had to sort this. I’ve spoken to the cleaners and they are looking into why this has happened and will make sure that the plug is now cleaned out at every changeover. We’re pleased that you enjoyed the cottage and your stay. Property Owner

"Fantastic 4 night break at this beautiful cottage."

The location could not be better, with the 4 pubs and village shops, cafes and a restaurant just down the roads. The terrace backing onto the river is beautiful and our dog spent most of the stay paddling. Cottage is modern and equipped for a short stay. Great shower and lovely spacious bedroom, loved the log burner. Agree with previous comment about the stiff fire door which is a real pain but appreciate owners comments about it being a legal requirement. Good price would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your lovely review, we’re so pleased that you enjoyed the your stay. We can reassure you that the issue with the fire doors has now been resolved. Property Owner

"An absolute delight, beautifully renovated and position stunning!"

Our only difficulry would be the heavy doors between living room and kitchen- difficult to get through whilst carrying something- especially as they swung back and you had to negotiate steps whilst getting through- a bit of a hazard for my disabled husband and elderly dog.

Thank you for your review, I’m pleased you loved the cottage. I’m so sorry that you have struggled with the doors. We have had to have fire doors fitted to comply with all the new Welsh regulations and unfortunately it appears that the closing system on them must be a bit too tight. They were only fitted at the beginning of April so I’m sorry you got caught up in the teething problems. I have contacted the company and asked that they come back and loosen the doors up within the next week. Many thanks for letting us know about the issue. Property Owner

"We have just returned from a wonderful time at Riverside Cottage."

We loved our stay in this comfortable and well equipped home. We did both walks in the folder, which were really enjoyable and caught the bus to Caernafon to visit the castle. We cooked most nights and found all that we needed,. There was plenty of hand soap, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and even some food bags and a flask. We appreciated the welcome goodies left for us. It was a delight in the late afternoons to return and sit on the patio watching the river flow by and spotting the dippers. We were very lucky with the weather and found the quilt a bit warm but just removed it and used the quilt cover and a blanket. We did feel that the patio door could do with attention. It didn't run smoothly and was hard to close and lock. We would highly recommend this place.

"On arrival at the cottage we were more than happy with our choice ."

The view at the back is wonderful. We had wet weather so couldn’t sit outside but could imagine how perfect a seat on the terrace would be on a sunny day . The kitchen was very well equipped. We did think the addition of an air fryer would be good The wood burner kept us warm and cozy . The bed was very comfortable . The owners have thought of everything you need to make the stay enjoyable. The position of the cottage is ideal, just a five minute walk to the pubs and shops . Riverside is somewhere we definitely want to come back hopefully very soon .

    "Excellent well equipped cottage."

We had to cook quite a bit as not much is open or offering food in March. Maybe a couple of oven dishes would be a good addition otherwise it’s adequately equipped. No issues at all.

Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are delighted that you found this a ‘5 star’ property and we shall certainly add a couple of extra oven dishes. Property Owner
