  • "We've been to a number of cottage holidays over the years, and this one was very good indeed."

The cottage was beautifully appointed, the welcome pack left for us, was just great. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, would we return, most definitely and would recommend it to our friends. Beddgelert itself was a delight, plenty of places to eat in, excellent walks, and the layby was very generous for the parking.

Thank you so much for your fabulous feedback! We really appreciate it. And hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

Swn Yr Afon is the most perfect cottage, with everything you need and more, the welcome pack was a lovely added touch after a long drive, with some dog treats too. We couldn’t have asked for a better holiday, the cottage is in the perfect location with a short walk to the local shops and pubs. We will definitely be returning, this is definitely our favourite property

  • "We stayed in this property after the storms in February 2022 unfortunately we had no Wi-Fi at all while we were there."

The cottage clearly has an issue with Wi-Fi not just on this occasion. It’s mentioned in a previous review and the owner himself said that the previous guests had intermittent Wi-Fi. Unfortunately for us it was a real problem as my husband and daughter had work to do in the evenings. We also missed being able to look up what to do in the area. I wouldn’t want anyone to book this cottage without realising this issue. There is two smart TVs there and two Alexia’s but not any good without Wi-Fi. Unfortunately there are no books to read or board games to play when you have frustrated teenagers!!! The cottage itself is lovely very comfy, clean and in a good location.

Thank you for your feedback, we are sorry you experienced lack of Wi-Fi after the storms. It was found to be lightning damage and all resolved quickly. We’ve now added extra books and some games. We’re pleased you found our cottage clean and comfortable Property Owner

  • "A lovely welcome pack was provided on arrival which was very welcome."

The cottage is very well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Warm and cosy at the end of January. Beautiful setting and had lovely walks from the front door.

  • "The cottage was absolutely fantastic, newly refurbished, very clean and great location for walking in snowdonia and visiting the beaches."

Bedgelert is very pretty. The owners have thought about everything, welcome pack and all the facilities you need. Would definitely stay again. Only issue we had was with the Wi-Fi which was intermittent, could be a concern if you need to be contactable and we couldn’t watch Netflix or other channels in the evening. There’s a free WiFi in the village a short walk away which we used occasionally. Strongly recommend and thanks for a lovely stay.

  • "Swn yr Afon was just as described a beautiful, comfy cottage by the sound of the river."

We loved our three night break. The cottage has everything you need and indeed the local shop has everything else! We very much appreciated the welcome and enjoyed looking at the photos of the renovation. We chose Beddgelert as a central point to explore Snowdonia, the coastal path of Porth y Gest and Beddgelert itself. Thank you for allowing our little fury friend to stay he loved the local walks and visit to the local pub!!

  • "We have recently come back following a week's stay at this cottage as a family of 5."

This is a part of Wales we have never been to before but can't wait to go back to. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and was recently refurbished to a very high standard. Even though there were 5 adults, there was plenty of room, extremely comfortable and there was everything there that we could have possibly needed. The little additional touches were lovely also. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who would like to explore this idyllic part of the country.

  • "We've just returned from a great week away in this beautiful cottage."

It was exceptionally well equipped, clean and renovated tastefully. The location is perfect, a short walk into Beddgelert itself and surrounded by mountains, overlooking a stream. The little touches that were left for us were really appreciated... a welcome tray and little hand made soaps, sourced locally on each bed. Just a word of warning.. the stairs inside and up to the decking area are quite steep and treads are narrow so care needed if you have mobility issues. All in all a beautiful oasis and a much needed break.

About the location

BEDDGELERT

Porthmadog 6 miles; Caernarfon 13 miles.

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. A 20 minute stroll along the river will take you to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’ most famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Beddgelert is famed for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn's dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover afterwards it had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack. With Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Borth y Gest and the whole of the Llyn Peninsula easily reached, this is an ideal location for a Welsh holiday.
