Windyridge was a lovely home but needs a bit more care and attention in some places.

We had 2 families with 4 adults and 4 children for a short 4 night stay. The location is great, spending time watching the view having a morning cuppa. The log burner was great and the TV system was spot on when watching an evening film. The kitchen: appliances worked well but some easy to use instructions would have been better. There were only 5 glasses, so for 8 people, this was an issue. There were a lot of wine glasses! A peeler would have been great, we had to go out to buy one. It would have been nice to have a pint of milk and a loaf of bread after a long drive when we got there. Bedrooms: beds were comfy and the TVs were great for the kids. The bed in the 2nd bedroom, there was a bit of damage that may need some attention to the side rail. Cleanliness needs to be better. There was an empty lager can in one bedroom, a used vape and body spray can in one of the children's bedrooms. Cobwebs were all over the place. One of the towels had a big fake tan stain on which we just couldn't use. Living room: TV was great and the large sofa was great to chill out on in the evening. WiFi was spot on and easy to access throughout the house. In other places we've been to, a small supply of logs for the first burn, especially after a long drive would have made it better. We had to go out in the car to get more which was frustrating. The heating in the house was great but we booked Windyridge for it's log burner. Many bulbs in the house were not working with only one led light working in the living room! Dining room: big table was great to sit down for evening meals. Views were stunning. Blinds were non existent so we felt like a lighthouse in the evening where anybody could look in to see what we were doing. The blinds used to be there but clearly not replaced after they were broken or taken down. Bathrooms: great showers and ensuites were useful. Some towels were dirty. Would we recommend Windyridge for other families? Not in its current state but with a few easy fixes, it could be a classic holiday home.

Lovely place.

The directions to the property are incorrect; however, the owner used what3words to make sure you could find it. Overall, the property is lovely, although it could do with more attention to cleanliness. It has most things you need for the week. The owner was prompt in responding to an issue with the plumbing, which was rectified within a few hours. I would stay here again.
