"We stayed at Neptune cottage last weekend but I’m afraid we didn’t get the same high level of cleanliness as previous guests."
On arrival we were met with lots of tiny fruit flies which must have been due to food being left out previously or the full bins outside the front door and the door being left open for a while. We tried our best to get rid of them but nothing worked.
The back bedroom had musty (left damp too long) linen and we all had some musty smelly towels too.
The front bedroom wasn’t hoovered as there were lots of long dark hairs all over the floor which my baby kept rolling in and getting caught around her hands. I could only put her down on the carpeted floors for safety. The shower also seemed blocked so weather kept coming up around my ankles which meant the shower base wasn’t that clean even on arrival.
The top bedroom gets very warm so windows have to be open but there is quite a lot of noise outside due to the close by hotel/pub like previous guests mentioned.
One bedroom didn’t have any hand soap, there was only one sheet of kitchen roll left on the roll and no spares. There was a note about the pan placements in the cupboard due to use on induction hob, but all in the wrong place so was a bit of trial and error. There was also no tea of coffee.
The parking situation as precious guests have mentioned was a bit of an issue as the disabled parking spot next door is quite confusing.
Overall we had a nice stay but the cleanliness was not up to scratch and we would not stay again.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback, I only wish you had raised these
concerns with me during your stay, as many of them could have been rectified
immediately and we would have had the opportunity to improve your experience while
you were at the cottage.
I was particularly concerned to read your comments regarding the bedroom carpet,
towels and linen. As you will have seen from previous guests’ reviews, we consistently
receive very positive feedback and the high standard of cleanliness at Neptune Cottage
is frequently mentioned. What you have described is therefore not the standard we
expect. I have raised all of your concerns with our cleaning company, and I am waiting
for their feedback.
With regard to some of the other points raised, the email I sent to you on 17th July
explains what we provide at the cottage, including why we do not supply tea and coffee.
It also provides information about the parking arrangements. Unfortunately, we have no
control over the disabled parking bay in Llewelyn Street. Conwy is a historic medieval
town where parking can inevitably be limited, which is why I try to ensure guest are
aware before arrival that they may not always be able to park immediately outside the
cottage.
Our main priority is for our guests to enjoy their stay and feel comfortable and relaxed in
our property. Both my contact details and those of our manager are provided in the
information folder, so that guests can contact us if there is a problem. Had we known
about the flies, shower drainage, missing soap or other issues during your stay, we
would have done our very best to resolve them for you.
Thank you for also mentioning the temperature on the top floor. We have had an
exceptionally warm summer, and I think providing fans for particularly hot periods
would be a sensible addition. The house was completely renovated in 2023 and is very
well insulated, although inevitably that cannot keep rooms cool during exceptionally
high outside temperatures, particularly at the top of the house.

"Lovely house literally less than 60 seconds from the main shopping street including cafes, bakeries and Spar shop."
5 minute walk to Conwy castle and less than 5 minutes to the bay. Train station is a 6 minute walk away. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom with lovely large showers which means you don't feel on top of each other. Hot tub is great and you do not have to wait for it to heat up. Beds were comfortable. The 3rd floor bedroom with 2 single beds can get very warm (we stayed in August) but we had hand held fans. I'm sure this would be a lovely warm home in the colder months. The ceiling is low in parts in the 3rd bedroom due to it being a loft conversion. When we arrived we could not park outsde the property so had to black the road to unload the car for a few minutes (it is a narrow one way street but there is not much traffic that comes down it) and then had to find a car park - we found Mount Pleasant car park by the castle walls (6 min walk) and paid for 24hrs at £8.50. We were able to park outside the house the following morning. It can get noisy on the high street at night on the weekends, so light sleepers may want to pack ear plugs. You can see the owners have put a lot of work into this place and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Thank you for mentioning the temperature of the top floor, this is something we are looking into. Conwy being a medieval walled town has narrow roads and limited parking, we do not have a designated space unfortunately, I'm glad you found the Mount Pleasant Car Park convenient. The shops and cafes being so close to our cottage is handy for provisions, I agree.

"Lovely place to stay, really enjoyed our holiday."
Just a heads up... beware of the disabled parking space at the end of the street. Several people, including myself, were ticketed even with the necessary blue badge. Apparently it is resident permit only but not clearly marked as such! It would be helpful to warn of this in your details for future holidaymakers.

"A lovely cottage that is very well presented and the location was amazing."
We always managed to park directly outside the cottage when we needed to drive but there was so much within walking distance we didn’t need the car at all other than to get to other activities further afield (zip world, canyoning, canoeing over the aqueduct……) kids have ranked it as one of the of the top 3 holidays ever.

"The perfect place for a weekend away with girlfriends."
The cottage was in a great location in the centre of Conwy less than a minutes walk from the shops, pubs, restaurants and the waterfront. It was well equipped and so comfortable we even stayed in one night relaxing & enjoying the hot tub which was lovely & private.
We would definitely recommend & stay again if looking for somewhere in the area. The cottage made the weekend!

"A family of 6 of us have just returned home from a lovely Christmas stay at Neptune Cottage, the cottage has been recently renovated and we enjoyed looking at the progress photos that were hung on the landing wall."
Everything was perfect and there was plenty of space for all 6 of us. The cottage is decorated immaculately and the open plan downstairs living was great for socialising as a family.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and the dishwasher was a godsend after Christmas Lunch.
The cottage is on 3 floors with 2 large double bedrooms on the second floor each with their own ensuite and a twin room on the 3rd floor with a huge bathroom all with modern fittings.
The hot tub is a lovely bonus to this property and the high walled courtyard meant that you didn't feel overlooked by the neighbours.
The cottage is situated right in the centre of Conwy on a narrow one way street so parking is limited we had two cars with us so we parked one outside the property and the second one we parked at the council offices car park a 5 minute walk away, this car park was free of charge during the week but charges apply at weekends and bank holidays.
Communication with the owner was fantastic and Velda even let me know that the cottage had been decorated for Christmas which was a lovely touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return at some point in the future.

"We had the most amazing week at Neptune Cottage."
Lovely large cottage which suited the 5 of us perfectly. House was immaculate. Excellent location right in the middle of the town. Shops, pubs, restaurants all 2 mins walk away. The hottub maintenance man arrived unannounced half way through the week, which we didn’t know about, would have been good to have been informed he was coming. Possibly a small lamp in the living area would have helped to create a warmer feel to the livingroom at night time, as we just had to keep the big light/spotlights on all the time. Thank you for having us, we would definitely return and will be recommending you to friends and family! A gorgeous cottage, in the best little town in north wales!

"Really enjoyed the stay and the property was exactly as we expected to be."
Looks tiny from the outside but is spacious and well appointed within across three floors. Although near the town centre and some pubs, it was quiet and we were never disturbed. Conwy itself is fantastic and I'd recommend it as a hub for a holiday in North Wales.

Perfectly placed in the town for shops, bars, restaurants and takeaways. So much to see in Conwy and its surrounding areas. Cottage had everything we needed, was very comfortable and homely. Hot tub was bliss for a cheeky wine (or two) after our walking and sightseeing days.

"Neptune Cottage is the perfect place for a break in Conwy."
The property was spotless and so comfortable. We are a party of two couples and the bonus of having your own bathroom is so convenient.
The parking may be an issue in high season. We didn’t have a problem in early June but it wouldn’t put us off staying there.
Restaurants and shops are all within a minute’s walk! Perfect.

"The cottage was exactly as described on line."
The house was in a perfect location and was quiet despite being in a central location. It was as lovely as the pictures showed.

"We had the most amazing stay at Neptune Cottage."
The cottage was immaculately clean and the decor was beautiful, everything was brand new and carefully thought out. The sofas and beds were super comfy, the kitchen really well equipped, the bathrooms were well appointed and the hot tub was an added bonus. The location is just brilliant too, you could not get any more central! Parking outside the cottage was a bonus, however as per the details in the listing, the road is very narrow and not all vehicles may be able to get down the road so be mindful of this when booking. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back soon!! Thank you for a really wonderful stay in Conwy!
